Our family ate at Cheddar's tonight for my daughter's birthday. There were seven of us total. The seating wasn't handled well at the hostess stand and we waited 20 minutes to find a half empty dining room, including several large tables that could have accommodated a large party. My side salad never arrived. The waitress "apologized" as having gotten busy and forgot. Our drinks weren't refilled until we asked. Our food was served and no one checked on us. My son wouldn't begin eating his burger without ketchup. My husband had to go to the kitchen to ask for a bottle after waiting several minutes. My steamed broccoli was practically raw and my fish was warm at best, and definitely not hot. Overall, we were disappointed with the service and quality of food, especially since this was my daughter' choice for her birthday dinner. We won't be back. read more

Went at 3 o'clock 's food was served but all shrimp on New Orleans pasta was burnt waiter did not provide bread with meal nor asked if I wanted dessert just drop check on table halfway through. was not offered appetizers or if I wanted another drink very clean restaurant first bad experience here. read more

The host that seated us could care less if we eat there or not, she was very rude. Don't she know who pays her salary. Joseph was the waiter and was super, but the way we were treated by the hostess, will not eat there again. Too many other restaurants in BG to eat at, and will be appreciated. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Cheddar's tonight. I believe our server's name was Matthew, and he was amazing! I'm vegan (no animal products), and had made the mistake of not doing enough research ahead of time, as well as not being clear enough to our server. This led to silly mistakes, such as having egg on my salad or butter on my sweet potato, that had to be sent back. But Matthew was incredibly patient and quick to bring back the correct food. Not only this, but we were offered a free dessert once finished with our meal. It was so sweet and we are very appreciative and touched by tonight's dinner! :-) read more

My wife and I had the lite fare chicken rice and black bean dish. We're doing a 24 day challenge and it fit with our diet. It was tasty chicken cooked well beans had a little kick to them. Overall nice dish. Others in our party had the chicken pot pie and chicken shrimp dish they were very happy. Brother in law had the half rack of ribs. Currently at Cheddars. They messed up my fried chicken dinner twice. After I sent it back because it had gravy all over it when I asked for it on the side. Waited about 10 minutes and they brought out the second attempt only this time it was country fried steak!!! Also, my husband got meatloaf which was suppose to have a "bed of mashed potatoes ". Been to this Cheddar's several times I always get good service the menu is large with numerous choices maybe too many. My food is fresh and my salad is always crisp and served in a timely fashion. They are busy frequently when I come in but they are very good at getting you seated as soon as possible so the wait is minimal. In the world of chain restaurants Cheddar's is probably one of my favorite. They give you a great value in good food, large portions and reasonable pricing. This particular location we visited I would say the food and service was just average- can't say anything very bad about it just nothing that has me rushing to come back. Ordered ribs and chicken tenders, the ribs were so hard I felt like I was going to chip a tooth. They sent them back and brought out more that were just as bad so did just the chicken tenders. They were flavorful as I've come to expect there, but still slightly tough although much better than the ribs. I hate sending anything back and it has to be really bad for me to, but have to give the staff credit though they did what they could to make it right. Stopped for dinner with our Daughter in Law. We got seated right away. Our server was really friendly and prompt. Everything we ordered was good and decent sized portions. By the time we left the place was packed with standing room only in the waiting area, this must be a popular place in BG. I would come here again. read more

Trip advisor was a bit misleading. The place itself is very nice, something akin to an Uno's atmosphere and it is very busy. This place is getting two stars for using canned vegetables and my wife's meal. Their green beans and corn both came from a can. Yeah the grilled chicken was tasty but how about some fresh vegetables? The portions were also pretty huge they should cut down and focus on fresh greens. It should not be that difficult to buy local produce. The biggest disappointment was my wife's shepherd's pie. It was a bunch of meat balls with some mashed potatoes thrown on top with a side of nuked onions. It also came in a shallow soup plate. read more

Great place to eat. Even when they are busy they get you seated in a reasonable time. The food is cheap yet they give huge portions while maintaining the quality. I recommend asking to sit in Lisa Holt's section. She was fast and friendly. I've also had Jeff as a server and he did a good job too. read more

The wait for your food is ridiculously long. We waited over an hour. It doesn't matter what time of the day or night it is the wait time for your food to reach your table after ordering is 40 minutes to an hour. Most of the time it takes a good fifteen minutes before your drink order is taken. The food is mediocre. Green beans are delicious! read more

~Outside: Clean and clear of any trash and debris. ~Parking area: Open and easy to navigate with sidewalks, lighting, and plants. ~Building: Clean, well lit, easy to find, decorated nicely. ~Entrance: Clean and clear, greeters are very friendly yet professional, very welcoming. ~Wait: As per any great restaurant, it depends on time of day and what day it is. Longest I've waited is 45 minutes due to my own errors. ~Seating: Very clean, lighting is perfect, not too bright, not too dark. Waiters and waitresses are role models for any other location! Menus are easy to understand, in perfect condition, and nice to handle (not too small, not too big). ^Waiting for food: Again, depends on time of day and what day it is, longest I have ever waited for my meal was about 17 minutes. Appetizers and drinks were timed perfectly to cover the wait!!! ~Quality and Quantity of the food: 10/10 on both, I always have a little left over which is always nice. Even eaten too much multiple times because it was so good. ^Scenery: AMAZING. Live fish in a tank, warm and welcoming interior, music's at a perfect volume, colors of walls and furniture are perfect. ~Receiving my check: Timely manner and non - intrusive! They always know how to time it perfectly. Even after finishing and paying, I was still checked on while just sipping some coffee, as if I had never even paid or provided a tip already! ~Leaving: ALWAYS something I dislike at this location. First time eating at Cheddar's and we will be returning. Three adults had the tower of onion rings and vegetable soup, which were excellent followed by a chicken pot pie, a side of ribs with carrots and broccoli & cheese They replace a way to spicy red beans & rice with a very good mustard based coleslaw. All portions were decent sized. We shared a double chocolate coke cola cake desert and managed to waddle out to the car. With standing room only in the waiting area, this must be a popular place in BG. read more

Has to be hands down the worst service and food I have ever eaten. When for dinner and ordered the steak and shrimp, ordered my steak medium well and when I received my food it was more like medium rare. No big deal told our waiter and he took the food back and said he would get it fixed. He wasn't gone 3 min and brought the food back. They had taken my steak and microwaved it. Cheddars was always the place that everyone loved. I tried and tried again, but it just never did it for me. They prices were really low compared to similar restaurants in the area, but the food wasn't anything special. The options were similar to what you would get at a Fridays or Chili's. The service was sometimes good, sometimes bad. There are definitely other restaurants in Bowling Green that I would recommend before Cheddars. read more

We were in Bowling Green for a concert and my sister really wanted to try fried chicken in kentucky. After searching and searching, this was the closest thing we can find to that. Their fried chicken was outstanding...the flavoring, the sides, everything about it. The portions are enormous. I can't even imagine trying to finish a meal like that. I got corn and fries as my sides. Both went really well with the chicken. My sister got broccoli and said it was some of the best broccoli she's ever had. Overall a great experience and definitely made us get our fried chicken fix. Also, we sat at the bar, where the bartender was probably one of the hardest working people I've ever seen in my life. Let's start this off with I cannot give a place 0 stars... which is really crappy like the service. Ever wonder why there is always an hour wait, because it takes that long for someone to bring you your food. My fiancé literally with not exaggeration waited 25 minutes for a beer in a BOTTLE. I could've went to speedway and got a whole 6 pack before they brought him a new on when he ASKED. To make the experience better when I got my soup I bit into a COLD potato and my fiancé's steak was over cooked. (Not a steakhouse so can't be too mad but the potato was over the edge for me.) NEVER will I go to that place again it was mediocre food and low quality service. The staff is a mess and the atmosphere is all over the place. We went to Cheddar's for my sons birthday. It was not very busy, but we were not greeted for 10-15 minutes after being seated, though like a previous reviewer stated there were plenty of servers wandering around. Service was poor. We waited over an hour for our food once we got the order in. The server blamed the kitchen, but other servers were bringing out orders regularly so I don't believe that was the problem. The food was okay, but half was cold :-/. The manager replaced cold fries but didn't do anything else to remedy the situation. We're pretty easy going in general, my husband and I have both worked as servers in college and understand the challenges of the job. However, there is no excuse for this type of situation. There are plenty of places to eat in Bowling Green, do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. read more

First time eating at Cheddar's and it won't be the last. Hubby & I both ordered Ribeye,,,Med Rare,,,,and that;s exactly what we received...cooked to perfection. The appetizer...Sante Fe Spinach Dip was excellent and we actually asked if they sold the salsa by the bottle...unfortunately they don't. The mashed potatoes are 'real' potatoes-not boxed or powdered....the broccoli casserole was delicous as was my steamed broccoli....we were both tooo full to try dessert...but we will be stopping there for lunch today....our server, Roxie, was excellent...on top of everything and very friendly. When I was first seatwd...hostesses were great. However, waiter did not say hello nor introduce himself when we 1st came to the table (I had to speak to him). I requested my dessert be served 1st...after a 30 minute wait, my meal was brought to the table...not the deserrt. The food was okay but it was cold when it was brought to the table...I let the waiter know and he responded "well what do you want me to do about?"...I yold him nothing just wanted to let you know I believe it was sitting for awhile. May 10, 2014 Just had dinner at Cheddar's, my husband took me out for Mothers day, I chose Cheddar's, it was the worst, the food was somewhat OK we waited forever for our appetizer, onion rings, but he got his salad first , the waitress said our onion rings would be out shortly before our meal, great! We waited along time after his salad before the onion rings were brought to our table, they were room temperature when we got to the ones on the bottom they were cold inside, then we waited for our meal and we waited. His drink glass sat empty for awhile finally our meal arrived no dipping sauce, no steak sauce, we asked for the sauces, the waitress brought his drink, no sauce, we asked again for sauces, finally we could eat his steak was cold. needless to say we just paid our bill and left. I sat at the bar, as the restaurant was really busy being prom weekend and a Saturday night. The bartender was attentive and quick with my drink order and menu. I ordered a blue moon, the 6oz sirloin cooked medium and two sides of mac n cheese and corn. The food came out quickly, the sides were good but the steak was cooked well done. The bar tender took it back to the kitchen for me to have it remade. The second bartender offered me a side salad while I was waiting (probably the best one I've ever had with the honey croissant) The second steak came out, ALSO COOKED WELL DONE. Both servers were extremely frustrated and took it back to the kitchen and the manager came to apologize. I requested the meal be packed in a to-go container and the third steak with sides came back out ALSO COOKED WELL DONE. 3 steaks, all over cooked. I gave up, and went home without eating BUT I can not express how awesome both the servers and the manager were. They apologized, were frustrated for me and of course gave me the salad and blue moon for free. I would definitely go back, just don't order the steak. read more

bland food, the place is always noisy and crowded. Had the fish tacos and they were not good, were drowned in cold corn salsa. Very stingy portion, which was fine since they were gross anyway. They seem to know how to deep fry but that's about all. read more
