Yelp didn't have much info for Bowling Green, so we turned to Trip Advisor for once where Cheddars was the #1 restaurant. Now I know why we stick with Yelp... The food was good, but not great and the service was downright awful. We were seated surprisingly quick, but then we sat for close to 20 minutes before a server took our drink orders; acting like she came to save the day and throwing her coworkers under the bus for not attending to us quicker. The manager came right afterwards and apologized that they had a big party that they weren't expecting, but he would "take care of us" and everything would be ok from then on. We never got our drinks, our entrees came out about four minutes after we ordered and our salads came out about two minutes after that. Again, the manager apologized profusely and brought our check with a charge for the two salads that we sent back still on there. We probably would have laughed if we weren't so grumpy and tired. I understand being in the weeds, but we definitely were not the only table with problems. Hold off on seating more tables and allow yourself time to catch up instead of having a restaurant full of angry customers. Unfortunately we'll probably never get another chance to try them again, but I'm not in a huge hurry anyway. read more

I've given this one more than one chance. The service is slow and the food has never been much to brag about. Really disappointing since I have been to other Cheddar's locations in other cities that have been better. I still give it two stars because if they can get their act together, they offer good portions for the money. However, if they can't turn around the motivation of the employees from the kitchen to the servers, this one won't even be worth the time! Cheddars is usually good, but no longer....every restaurant in BG has a limited menu, and Cheddars used to make a great meat loaf, but no more! last time we were in might be the last...every place in BG seems to have such a limited menu, no roast turky, no meat loaf, no prime rib, no broiled fish....everything is fried, fried, fried....and the wait staff the day we were there were all unhappy, the floor was dirty with crumbs, don't they have one of those push sweepers to get the crumbs up? Why aren't they wiping down the tables and seats...when I worked food service we had buckets of bleach water which had to be changed frequently to wipe down the tables and seats alike...I don't know, it seems people are no longer trained well, I blame management and the chefs in the kitchen... read more

We came here about 30min before closing. There were three of us. They only had two cold, old croissants. What a joke. Then, upon ordering, we were informed that they probably wouldn't make fries for us so we had to get baked potatoes. Third issue, one of us ordered a drink and it didn't even have coconut on the rim or any of the stuff they were supposed to put on the rim. If we would have known all of this would have happened, we would have eaten elsewhere. Plus the food tasted like the quality was very cheap. I'm think we're good on cheddars. read more

Seating was quick even though I hit them at lunch. Sam did a great job of serving me even though she never stopped. She was very busy. I ordered the Blackened salmon salad with steamed broccoli and southern green beans. The meal arrived in a timely manor and prepared just the way it was ordered. We started off with the Chicken Tender Sampler platter with a choice sauce (Hot Honey?) On the side. The portion was decent but there was absolutely no flavor to the chicken and the sauce was bland and we thought it might have been diluted with water. Not impressed at all. I went with the Sweet Heat Chicken and Shrimp. The mango flavored chicken and shrimp wasn't bad but the chicken breast was over cooked. Came with a side salad and rice. The rice was fine but nothing special. The salad on the other hand was too sweet and the carrots obviously came from a bag (perfectly uniform... I am a line cook in Nashville... I know food). Over all the dish was descent but packing presentation and too sweet on my opinion. Also, what's with the diner plates)? Really? New Orleans Pasta was what my other half decided to order and this is what I wish I would have ordered. Very basic sauce that could be improved upon with some basic flavors but overall not bad for the price. My mother ordered a Caesar salad and had it returned because of bad lettuce. Granted, the manager did offer to cur some fresh romaine but she declined the offer and went with a baked potato. It's a baked potato... nothing special. For the extremely cheap price of $45.00 (drinks included in that price) it wasn't bad but we will not return. The food wad just too bland for us. The worse part though was the waitress. If you read my reviews. I rarely give bad reviews. Cheddars is def a bad review. Came here with 4 people for dinner. As soon as we walked in we were seated. After we were seated is when the issue started. We sat at the table for 15 minutes. Not one waiter or waitress came to get our drinks or even say we will be right with you. There was so much staff walking by and a few just standing and talking. Yet not one of them came over. At one point the manager walked past our table. Didn't even say anything. Finally we got up. As soon as we stood a waitress said have a good day. As if we had already ate!!!!! WTF people!! On the way out me and one of the gentlemen I was with told the manager what had happened. The manager said he dident know we were sitting there. The manager dident even say he was sorry or suggest seating us again. The worse was they weren't even fully busy. The watermelon vodkarita is delicious. I had the sweet heat chicken & shrimp for dinner and it was very good. I had asked the waitress the difference in the seasoned rice and the ginger rice and she brought samples of both so I could try them before ordering. I had the shepherd's pie, which was good but not a true shepherd's pie. The cheese fries for an appetizer are also a really good choice. Cheddar's is doing everything right! Our recent experiences have been great. We got exactly what we ordered and it was piping hot. I didn't 2ant the seasoning that came on the grilled chicken. To my surprise, the manager brought out our order and suggested a sauce to try, which he'd already packed into our order. We always do curbside and masks are always worn correctly. They estimated our wait time at 25-35 minutes but we were seated much faster. Our server was a little slow getting to us but he was very nice. We ordered right away and it took another at least 20-30 minutes to get our food. (Which was nothing major, burger, grilled chicken, and salad.) We thought no big deal, they're busy. We have been to Cheddar's multiple of times and the first few times around, we loved coming here and always enjoyed the food. Now, we hardly come because we never get a correct order anymore. I have always loved Cheddars--great food at a great price. I just came back in to BG for Easter and just had to share how great everyone on the staff we dealt with were fantastic! We had just come in tonight for a drink and dessert and the staff were very welcoming and engaging. We arrived we had a small wait if 10 minuets of which we anticipated. They were very busy that Saturday evening. After being seated we were quickly waited in for our drinks and appetizers. Terrible service. Managers are NOT on the floor and don't know what is going on. Came to the restaurant after being at a funeral home all day. We placed an order, after an hour were told there had been a 450 dollar to go order, but we saw many many servers carrying trays from away from the kitchen. Server offered to bring croissants but never showed. I complained to the manager. The manager had no idea why we had such a wait, but should have been aware of a huge backup in service. She said this was the first she had heard about it, isn't it her job to know the kitchen is incredibly back up? She couldn't guarantee prompt service so we left without any food. If a restaurant can't provide service in a timely manner, customers should be advised. People usually come to a restaurant to eat, not to watch a parade of servers carry tray and provide service to other people. read more

I got ribs, potato, and coleslaw. Ribs were tough, cold, and dry to say the least. I had to use a steak knife to cut them apart. Potato was also cold. Now I did get them curbside pickup, but I was there early and had to wait 10 min past my pickup time. First off, I know that they stay busy with orders to go now, as I have personally gotten to go orders from them over the past few months on several occasions. Tonight's to go order was a very different experience. The other times were top notch. Our order was supposed to be ready by 5:36 pm.
