Went here for the first time on Sunday. It was busy so we had to wait for a little bit the wait went by fast because I was looking at all the pretty things this store had. It was a country ambiance so rocking chairs outside for people to sit and wait and also play checkers so that was fun. We got seated and it took forever to get a server but that was their mistake and having a miscommunication. Once that was cleared up we got a chill server named Steven, and he was so wonderful. Always smiling and having such a good attitude among the chaos of being a server so that was nice to see. The food was good and I forgot to take a pic but hey I was hungry, so no regrets there. I ended up getting grandmas sampler, kids got cereal, son had strawberry stuffed cheesecake pancakes and husband had mamas breakfast. We will be coming back again soon to try lunch out. read more

It's a Cracker Barrel. You know what you're getting. I hate they changed the menu items and names because I always got the "Uncle Hershel's favorite" with blackened catfish, scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole and biscuits + gravy. The weight was about 60 seconds. Very short. We were quickly seated at a nice little table. They took our drink order quickly. The waitress is very new on the job, and though this is her second day, she's getting her feet under her well, and she was engaging and courteous. We had good food, good service, and a good time. Our first time having dinner at Cracker Barrel. This particular restaurant is in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I had the Haddock with sides of corn, fried okra, turnip greens and corn muffins. It was terrific! I was really surprised at how good it was. My wife had the fried shrimp with mashed potatoes, hush puppies, steak fries, and fresh fruit. She also said how good her meal was. I raised Cracker Barrel up from a two star to a three star, because the taste of my food was very very delicious. Cracker Barrel sent me a gift card for one free meal so my husband myself and my daughter went there last night for dinner. I ordered the fried chicken with a side of fried okra, and Dumplings. My husband and daughter both ordered the special they have right now with the turkey tenderloins fried. They both ordered fried okra but my daughter ordered mac & cheese my husband ordered potatoes mashed. As far as my meal went, it was very very good. My husband's mashed potatoes looked like they were made early in the morning and had been sitting on the plate for a while. They were one big clump and there was just a sprinkling of gravy and he said more gravy on the Turkey would've been great but all in all, they said it tasted very good. I told them they probably don't put a lot of gravy because I'm sure people complain about the gravy. Now let's get to the service. It wasn't busy when we came in. There was maybe eight people in the whole place. It was around 3 PM. We were seated in the middle of the dining room and I wasn't comfortable so I asked if we could move to a table by the window-which we did. Once seated there, a girl came over to take our drink order she asked are we were also ready to order our food? We said yes so we ordered our food too. then she went over to another table and they complained, which we heard , that they were before us, and she took our order and not theirs so she took their order then too. She came back with drinks for both tables, and in the meantime, they sat another table of two men a couple rows away from us. Then another waitress walked over to our table and asked if we knew what we wanted and we told her we just ordered and we were waiting for our drinks. Then the first waitress came out with food for the table that complained and food for the two guys and said to us that they were frying our okra. So all in all by the from the time we got there till the time we got our food was about a half hour, but at least we had drinks! What I dislike about this restaurant is for not being busy. We shouldn't have waited a half hour for food, but it was all hot, except for my husband's mashed potatoes. Also, they come over and slap the receipt down on the table and say no hurry and then I didn't see the waitress again so I had to call her over because I needed a box. When she came back with the box, she started clearing our table and she actually took my husbands drink, which he wasn't finished with, and threw it into the bucket which is the dirty dishes. I said to her you just took my husbands drink. He wasn't done with it and she apologized and offered to go get him another one but he said, don't worry about it. . I also feel they need a little bit more room. When you check out we had to wait about 20 minutes they had one woman on and about 8 people paying for their food, picking up food and buying stuff from the store. Truth be told because we were waiting so long my daughter found things she just had to have so I ended up spending a lot more than I wanted to. Another cashier finally walked up to help. All in all, I would have to say that we probably would never go there to eat breakfast or dinner again. Which is too bad because I really like their pancakes. I think this restaurant needs more staff and maybe better training of the wait staff? And as far as the food being good, it was, but you would expect from a chain restaurant. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought biscuits were supposed to be nice and thick. I remember them being like that, but these were small little disc with no rise to them. read more

We were tourists in the area and wanted to try Cracker Barrel. Plenty of parking in the lot. We opened the door and we thought we were at the wrong place because it looked like a gift shop. We actually had to walk all the way in to get to the restaurant. There are plenty of good options on the menu, from chicken, beef, fish, and lots of options for sides. While waiting for our food, there is a pegs game to keep me occupied. I ordered fish and it was delicious. My parents enjoyed their beef dishes. Excellent service amd excellent food. I was impressed. The home style chicken was very good and side salad was huge. The server was nice but service was slow. We waited quite awhile to place our order and receive our order. The coffee was refilled only once after asking and we didn't have an opportunity to ask for a refill on the pop. This was a Sunday afternoon, so busy but there appeared to be kitchen issues. They have mobile check out which I would recommend as there was one check out clerk and a long slow moving line. This actually discouraged us from buying any of the cute items from the shop. Cracker Barrels do vary in quality, cleanliness, taste snd promptness from city to city. That being said, I give 4/5 stars. The last couple of years I've been hooked on their pancakes and eggs breakfast. Consistently great at each one I've been to! Tried to go on 3/13/2023 @ 8:55 pm, was VERY UPSET. There was an employee outside talking to what, I assume, was another employee that was leaving. The person leaving walked past me and said hi and the employee at the door looked at me walking towards him then went inside. When I reached the door it was locked and the employee was no where to be seen. I was upset because good customer service would have been to tell me politely that they were closed. I understand that people want to go home and even though it was a few minutes until they close I would have been fine leaving but this employee, a dark haired gentleman, hurriedly locked the door and went out of sight, then to top it off he came back outside and started talking to the other person as they pulled up in their car after I walked away. This Cracker Barrel is hit or miss--and today was a miss. I ordered lunch online for curbside pickup. The ordering process is pretty straightforward, but I'm not crazy about the pop-ups for add-ons. On my way home from Florida to Chicago last Friday I was tortured by sign after sign depicting Cracker Barrel's logo as we drove along the highway. My family's home in Chicago isn't near a Cracker Barrel, so I try to stop in and eat at one whenever I get the chance. When my mom insisted that we stay the night in Bowling Green I insisted that we only put the brakes on our road trip there if the town had a Cracker Barrel located in it. Luckily for me, this Cracker Barrel was located across the street from our hotel! Though this isn't my favorite Cracker Barrel our waitress, Sierra, was very friendly and our food was delicious. My family is comprised of opinionated, outspoken people, but everyone was more than satisfied with their meal. In fact, they were raving about it. My sister, who usually eats very slow and is a picky eater, literally devoured her sirloin steak, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. 11/23/22: I took my favorite lady to Cracker Barrel because, well, it's Cracker Barrel. What's not to like, right. I had the maple glazed chicken WITH A BIG OLE LONG BLACK HAIR IN IT! I told/showed my server. I asked for a replacement dish, adding that I'd like fresh silverware "immediately" so I could eat my side dishes. I travel a bit and really enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel while on the road. This Thanksgving I decided to take a little trip to the Southern states with my 15yr old nephew. I thought it would be fun to have our Thanksgiving meal at the Cracker Barrel...wrong. The atmosphere and service was very good but the meal...not so much. I love Cracker Barrel and we try to stop whenever we travel and it's lunch time. One of the biggest reasons I stop is because you can order breakfast anytime of the day. My favorite thing to order is The Uncle Hershall. It has a huge piece of country ham, along with eggs, grits, apples, hash browns, saw mill gravy and hot biscuits.
