I visited Slim Chickens in Bowling Green for the first time yesterday and left with mixed feelings. The atmosphere reminded me a bit of Raising Cane's--but with wings and salads on the menu, which was a nice twist. When I walked in, I was greeted by what looked like a young teenager at the register. He was polite, but when I asked whether the wings were breaded or naked (since I'm trying to stick to a restrictive diet), he wasn't sure and couldn't give me a clear answer. That was a little surprising since it seems like something the staff should be familiar with. I ordered the 8-piece buffalo wings and specifically asked for no fries or bread. I was given a table place card and a drink cup, and everything moved along pretty smoothly after that. However, when my food was brought to the table, it still came with fries and bread--both of which I couldn't eat. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely disappointing since I had asked ahead of time. Service overall was just okay--not terrible, not great. The wings themselves were actually really good, which redeemed the experience a bit. I might give them another try, but next time I'll probably double-check my order when it arrives. read more

Another random find. It's connected to a gas station. I think run by IGA grocery??? So we had to try ...because why not. Ordered wings, chicken fingers, fries and fried mushrooms. Ok.. first the wings. They have like 8+ flavors. Wings weren't huge but flavor Buffalo flavor was spot on. Came "wet" which was perfect fine. Perfect crisp on them. Again.. got this thru a drive thru. Totally will try these again Chicken tenders. Crispy, fresh. Yes yes yes. I brought home some for kids to try and they said "raising canes has nothing on these tenders. Probably the best ever- even reheated." But the star of the show. Totally surprise was the fried mushrooms. Batter wasn't thick like most restaurants, which hides the flavor of the mushrooms. Legit. The best fried mushrooms I've ever had. I just wish the had a dipping sauce for the mushrooms. Maybe they do.?? Ranch worked well but yeah.. these are the best. Fries were fine. Nothing special. Ranch and blue cheese were really good. For fast food... these is a 4 if 5. Carried by the tenders and mushrooms. Looking forward to them expanding to more locations. Get the fried mushrooms.... read more

This is conveniently located adjacent to a gas station, convenience store, and EV charging station. It has a nice seating area available with TVs. We ordered crispy chicken sandwiches, fried mushrooms, and a kids mac and cheese with Texas toast. All of the food was much enjoyed - very tasty! Service was friendly and efficient. read more

Slim Chickens is a fast-casual restaurant chain which specializes in chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and buffalo chicken with dipping squares. Slim Chickens chain began over 2 years ago in Arkansas and is just now opening in Kentucky. This was our first experience with this chain and we were pleased with our order of Chicken sandwiches with French fries. While shopping for furniture across the street I asked about Slim Chickens and all the furniture guys recommended the chicken sandwich. It is located within a gas station. There was a lot of lunch time traffic and the parking spaces are very tight and not enough spots. So be careful. I Ordered 2 sandwich with fries at the counter for dine in. There was a large drink or water spill in front of the register which I mentioned. It was sometime before it was cleaned up as it looked like only 4 employees working lunch. The manager was conducting interviews at this busy time. They have self serve drinks but the ice tea was empty and though I mentioned when our food delivered it was never refilled. The chicken sandwich seems a bit smaller compared to others and it had a good taste. However, I thought It was more on the chewy side than tender. read more

I wanted to try this place as it was a new food chain I had noticed since I am on a business trip to Bowling Green. I decide to order the 3&3, but noticed I can only get it in meal form (I could not just buy it a la carte). I also decided I would get the chocolate brownie pudding. Prior to ordering here, I went on Wikipedia just to familiarize myself on what this chain was. It states that deserts come in a mason jar. Then when I ordered it, I realize that IT REALLY DOES COME IN A MASON JAR! The only issues I had was that, if I ordered online, I could choose from different sides. I inquired about this and the gal stated that it was just fries. There was no mention of choosing my side at the drive thru speaker (this was around 5:30-5:45p.m. today 3/21). The total came out to like $20 for everything. I have to write that this is pretty pricey for a restaurant chain founded in Fayettesville, AR where the cost of living is pretty low. Not to mention, I was buying this in Bowling Green, KY where the cost of living is also pretty low. read more

At this point I'm 0/3 at this location I really like their food. Their honey barbecue on any of their chicken is fantastic. Their fries are good. The chicken and waffles are better than I expected. The food here never ceases to amaze me how delicious it is! We can honestly say that everything we've eaten here has been tender and moist, the freshest chicken. Even the waffle was cooked to perfection (no sugar free syrup though). My favorite item on the menu is the breaded mushrooms along with Cayenne Ranch dressing. If you normally like horseradish then this makes a good substitute. read more

We went to the location on scottsville road in Bowling Green. The wait was very long (which is great if you're getting hot food, I don't mind waiting). The food was cold and subpar. They forgot our drinks. Probably wouldn't attempt to eat there again. read more
