Why am i reviewing fast-food? Because of the disappointing new fry-seasoned onion fries. I wanted to try Checkers' new onion-fries, and i havent found them yet near me around Baltimore, so I stopped here while on the road. Well ... first thing, the serving didnt fill the fries-cup, maybe 12 fries at the most, so i'm not happy at all with the $3.49 price. The crumbly crunch was as good as it is on their fries, a bit greasy, flavored with salt and mild seasoning with noticeable not-too-much black pepper. That's ok. But at least half of them seemed to have no onion in the batter! I'm trying to picture how that happened, in the restaurant or in the factory? And to round it out, their corporate helpdesk said to complain directly to the restaurant. I guess that means the next time i'm driving through Manchester! Note to self: At Checkers, try your food before leaving, especially if you're on the road. I find it hard to believe that someone in R&D wouldnt tell them "meh" if this is the best they could do. Next person who tries them, please review them if you get better than i did! Update: 3 days later, corporate Did refund that order after all. So i am putting back a star for making things right. And I do plan to try those onion-fries again. Update #2: I got more onion-fries. And, yeah, they were fine, all filled with onions, no "blanks". So that first batch i had was just a bad batch. This place is awesome. I was driving by and pulled into the drive-thru, and ordered. . .well, let me say A LOT. Chili dogs, a smoky BBQ bacon burger, a Checker Burger, mozzarella sticks, Blue Raspberry frozen drink, etc. Serenity took my order and I asked for No Onions on the first burger. As I was ordering, she paid attention and at the end asked if I would like that to be No Onions on the other burger and No onions on the chili dogs. Attention to detail like really impressed me. The whole crew there seems to be customer-centric. Now, while I realize this is "fast food", I have to also say that the flavors, like the fry flavor on the mozzarella sticks was really good! And the PRICE really amazed me. If I had ordered all of the food I did at one of the other big fast food places, it know it would have been well over $35. But I got these Pick 2 deals, and my order was under $20. That's VALUE! It's not often I'll write a review. But the attention to detail, the customer service I received from Serenity, the actual flavor of the HOT (not lukewarm) food, and the price has me wanting to share this with others. Their food is mid. It's either really good or awful. They are also horrible to work for! This specific manager whose name is David and the owner Don are kings of screwing their employees. Nasty to work for is saying the least. My boyfriend needed three days off to help me with serious medical issues. They granted him the days and when he went to return they ghosted him. They lead him on for months instead of just firing him or giving him hours. This kept him from collecting unemployment and has caused us serious financial hardship. Back when they opened we tried them and the burgers and fries were good. Today we stopped and he got a triple Beaufort burger and I got a double. We both got a medium fry. The bill was $21.25. Sandwiches were barely warm and mine was so sloppy with mayo that it slid apart in my hand. He said his was ok. The fries, for medium, were pathetically small. It was a very disappointing experience for me. The only plus was the friendly girl at the drive through window. read more

Manchester needs more food options. This cannot be denied. Since Checkers opened there have been lines at all times of day. I've tried to get a good variety of food to assess and overall my experiences have been positive. Keep in mind that this is a drive thru, fast food restaurant. It's going to be haphazard and sloppy. I've tried the burgers and chicken sandwiches. Both are pretty good and definitely better than the other fast food place down the road. The hot dogs are alright. I didn't really like their chili. I don't know how they do it, but their fries are great. And I'm not normally a fan of seasoned coated fries. These I like. A lot. Their cheesecake sundaes are fantastic though I wish they put more of the topping on them. I have not tried the traditional wings but I have had the boneless wings and didn't really care for them. One star for Checkers. I had given them several chances to redeem themselves with poor quality food and staff that just doesn't seem to care. I stopped this time because I was next door at sheetz getting gas and did not see a single caf go through Checkers drive thru. Went to drive thru. Waited almost 4 minutes for some to ask if they could help me. Mind you there was no line ahead of me at all. They took my order ( fish with extra tartar sauce and a regular cheeseburger. Cheese burger was all onion and Mayo. I could not even bite through the fish sandwich. It was so hard and dried out from sitting and getting reheated. As for the extra tartar sauce I am guessing the dry fish sucked it up to try and dehydrate. When I called into to let them know how my service was I had to call four times before some one answered. Very slow service. Girl in kitchen on 8-3-23 was slow had AirPods in and just slow in general. Management needs to step it up.

Avoid this place at all costs! Placed order on mobile app., 10 minutes later showed up, restaurants was empty No one in drive thru, still had to wait for someone to respond on intercom. Give names for mobile orders (3 in total) one order is handed out instantly, then told to pull forward and park "YOUR FOOD WILL BE RIGHT OUT". After 20 minutes of waiting and as many cars going thru the drive thru, still have not received my order. So I back to the entrance of the drive thru line, to inquire where my food is. Tom Ziegler, apparently son of owner and "operator" of the establishment came outside, and said while pointing, "move your car!". I said "I have been waiting 20 minutes on an order placed over a half hour ago, where is my food?" Rather then taking proper steps like, "let me check" or "Im sorry, we are behind, I can just refund your order". . He pulled out his phone and called the cops! There is not inside dining and they refuse to answer questions or open window to communicate. I would have gladly stayed to speak with an officer, the reason I backed over to drive thru to begin with is because lunch break was coming to an end, they had my order now for 30 mins, and I needed to leave. I have contacted corporate office of Checkers, even though his daddy owns it, I think they will take the proper actions in removing him from the company. As moving forward I will never enter another Checkers or Rally's establishment. Have also contacted local Police Deparement to file compliant for wasted resources. Just ordered two burgers and fries, didn't get one of the burgers. That's fine. Mistakes happen. Went back to get my second burger, had to wait in the drive thru that wasn't moving for....who knows why. Girlfriend walks to the service window, it's very cold, waits forever and finally gets her burger. Says the staff was rude and no one even offered an apology for the mixup. This was only our second experience with this business and we're both driving home quite agitated. We had a small argument about nothing afterwards. Screw this place. Will never go again. At least have the common sense to offer a simple apology....or even just not be overtly rude when you screw up an order. read more

The milkshakes are good, but the service/employees are awful. We've had 3 bad experiences here and every time had to do with the service. The latest occurrence we ordered milkshakes and the lady hands a milkshake out the window that doesn't have the lid on and the chocolate was overflowing out all of the sides. I love love love love the Checkers! It is the tastiest food I have eaten in Manchester! The Burgers are the meatiest and the nicest. The shakes are good! (Just don't eat to many or you may get tummy ripples.) I love the burgers! Please eat here, not McDonald's!
