I see other reviews about service but I've had no problems like that at all. Service has been fast, accurate and anyone I've interacted with has been so cheerful! We've been there about 6 times since they opened and it's been perfect every time. Now for the food: delish. Let's get real here, it's fast food. It's not going to be healthy or good for you. It's going to be indulgent, fried and a total treat. The first thing I got when I saw they were back in town was my fave, the original Checker burger. Exactly as I remembered and I loved it! I've had the fish, spicy chicken and the bacon cheeseburger as well, all awesome. The fish especially is nice and crunchy while staying tender in the center. Now for the fries. May God have mercy on my waistline because these fries are the BEST. Seasoned perfectly, and sometimes if you're lucky you get an accidental essence of funnel cake (on their menu) and it's the perfect batch of fries. It's what carnival fries taste like. And the apple pies...OMG. Remember when McD's had that awesome fried apple pie? And then they switched to that powdery baked crap? I never forgave them for that. I don't eat apple pie to be healthy. It's supposed to be a treat!! Well, Checkers still fries it and it ROCKS. The only thing I don't like is how doused in cinnamon-sugar it is when they toss it in that at the end. I truly HATE that this Checkers is the closest location to my home. Multiple times I have stopped here after work around 11:00 PM, EACH time they claim to be closed. Tonight I finally asked for a manager, and was greeted by an awful human being who claimed to be the department manager. When I asked for his name, he replied "what the hell do you need to know my name for"? Is this how you're training your staff to behave? I am not sure if the young man was actually the manager or not, but I am disgusted by his poor representation of YOUR company. He was a young African-American male. Your night staff at this location has always come across as rude, unprofessional, with poor customer service skills. It's evident that your company will hire just about anyone. This place should be closed by the health department. I don't believe any of the workers have a food handlers license. It's disgusting inside. Drive thru is also a mess! I ordered two meals through drive- thru and one of the burgers was made incorrectly. I then went inside and waited 10 minutes before I was assisted and I was the only customer inside the building. I then spoke to the manager named Jocelyn and she unwrapped both of my burgers and said that she would remake one of the sandwiches. I asked her could she remake both since the other sandwich will be cold due to how long I had to wait. She told me "No" and said she only made a mistake on one of the burgers and the other one getting cold due to my waiting isn't her problem. I told her that my wife works for the FDA and I don't think that's how you are suppose to handle this situation. She then said to me that she works here at Checkers and that's how it's going to be handled here. She was very rude and shouldn't be working in that establishment. I ended up calling the store manager and explained what happened. The store manager was very kind and helpful and apologized for her employee's actions. Have been here a half-dozen times since they opened. They have a good variety of burgers. Started coming here after Portillos was nasty to me. Guess what? Checkers burgers taste just like Portillos burgers, but at half the cost. I have even made converts of my family and friends who now are hooked on Checkers. Most times, the wait to receive your food isn't bad, maybe five minutes. One time, they were super busy and I ended up waiting about twelve minutes. Wasn't a problem since I made small-talk with other customers also waiting for food. The employees usually have a smile on their face and are friendly. I stick with the cheeseburgers. Had one of the cheaper chicken sandwiches once and the taste didn't appeal to me. They are one of the very few restaurants in the area open late, I believe till 2:00am. read more

I never write reviews, but have to here. I love Checkers and always have. Today's experience was awful. The man who took our order made no secret of the fact that he was hungover and moved at a snail's pace. Everyone was waiting 20+minutes for food despite the drive through line being short and the line inside being nonexistent. We waited for 15 minutes to order, and then more than 20 minutes for our food. No burgers were being cooked; they were all sitting getting cold. Not sure what took so long. When we got our burgers, they were cold. Not room temperature -- cold to the touch. They had been sitting in bags for we don't know how long. The cheese was still solid and cold; the bun even colder. The staff wouldn't speak to anyone or make eye contact. Really disappointing experience and a waste of money. read more

I just had the worst experience I've ever had at a fast food restaurant. The poor manager was the only one doing any of the work. The drive thru was backed up so far it was ridiculous, and it wasn't moving at all. I decided to go inside where I found a line of people waiting for food. It took 20 minutes just to take my order, and another half an hour before I finally gave up and demanded my money back. The cashier got my order wrong as well, and the entire crew was moving at a snails pace. I watched them make half of my order, then just leave it on the counter for 20 minutes while they waited for someone to make more bacon. "Helloooooo?" kept coming through the drive thru speaker because no one would answer them and people kept leaving. To add to the misery, the counter was covered in dropped food and condiments, though the customer area seemed clean enough. About the only good thing in my experience was the fact that the manager didn't argue with me when I demanded my money back. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE on the morning of 11/5/2016. Messed up my order. I had to drive back to get my order corrected. I wasn't offered any compensation and I was given 2 cold burgers to replace the wrong order. I had to microwave my food when I got home. My fries are cold. There was a young man and a young snuffalufagus on duty. The music was blasted. These people are not who you want to represent your business. I was not given a receipt, just my change. Almost all of the times I've been there, they have gotten some aspect of my order wrong. I'm not a hard customer. I order off the menu and never ask for any adjustments. It seems like they have three different menus, (online menu, indoors menu, and the drive thru menu) and the employees are somehow not knowledgeable or aware of any of them. When the restaurant first opened and they got my order wrong the first few times I told myself "let the employees get used to things and get organized" but a year+ later they are still clueless and unprofessional. Very friendly staff here especially this one guy that is always there I think he's the manager very hard worker guy will get his name next time I go. (Checkers in Bolingbrook) I wanted to go inside to place order but the staff had the front door looked and had the trash can as a barricade so I had to go through drive up. I placed an order for fully loaded cheese fries, I was asked to pull up. There was another car behind me who also had to pull over, finally after 15 mins someone came out the back door and they gave a bag of food to the car that was after me. I tried to go check on my order but the door was locked. Another 5 mins someone came out the back door again and hand me a bag, the cheese fries were all spilled in the bag it was a MESS cheese fries was everywhere. I got back in drive up line another 10 mins I asked for manager and refund he gave me a dirty look as if he didn't want to give refund. But he did I asked for receipt for proof of refund he said register does not gave receipt, I asked him to sign original receipt for my benefit he gave another dirty look and finally scribbled something (I guess his name) on the receipt. I will never go there again and I will make sure I tell all family and friends to not to buy food from there. Customer service there is HORRIBLE/UNPROFESSIONAL.
