Cool bar on the inside but some of the worst service I've had at a bar. No more than 10 people in there and still had to wait 15 minutes plus to get a drink. We came to into this bar later on into the night, there was a light crowd which was great, but the service couldn't have been worse! all i heard the bartender talk about is how they didn't care and couldn't wait to be in las vegas. the blonde bartender was taking shots with customers while i am waiting for my drinks still. after we got our drink, we played some darts and i payed for music! went up again to get another and it took over 20 mins for someone to even walk towards our way. i get the night was getting later but the bar on google says it closes at 3 ! they were calling last call at 2:15 and kicking us out with a tazor by 2:30. the big dark lady head even pushed me out! blonde lady said "yeah google also says we're family friendly and only serve people over 21 too". worse service ever!!! definitely needs to be looked into read more

Weird joint. Appears to be in a very inner city area; looks like just a whole in the wall. I get it- Checkered Flag" near the Indy 500 and yet they have dead animals all over the wall. What does a giant marlin have to do with racing car. Took quite a while to get waited on. They had a nice crowd but certainly not packed. I got the fryed fish special; only $6. Looked like a super good deal but really, it was worth about $6 bucks. I thought the menu looked slightly over priced for the crowd they get. We like to visit Indy; glad I found an out of the way place to Yelp but meh, didn't blow my bangs back. read more

If this place tried, they would have every millennial in a 300 mile radius clamoring to eat at this "gastro pub" - so yeah - DONT DO THAT & stay the way you are please. I think a 4 star review average is spot on! Met a friend who works on the west side for lunch, as I've been wanting to try this place for a while. There were a couple of minor annoyances for our visit---we arrived a few minutes before noon, and the place was packed. There appeared to be only one server for the whole place (and it's quite large) and, while she did a good job with what she had to work with, service was a bit slow. Had we been on a tight schedule, it could've become a problem. I was craving a breaded tenderloin (duh) and the server advised me they were already out of them for the day. I'm not sure how you run out of breaded tenderloins at noon, but---good for them, bad for me. I chose the fried bologna sandwich and it was simply STELLAR. Best bar food and drinks on the west side. The wings are to-die-for (especially with the chipotle honey sauce ooo) and I've never had better "hotzzarella sticks" than theirs. Their ranch is some of the best I've ever had in general so make sure to get a side of it with your meal. Took a gamble on this place the other day after picking my daughter up at the airport and was looking for a place to get a beer and a burger while the traffic died down. Well let me tell you, I may have to consider moving to Plainfield! I would LOOOOOVE for this place to be my home base. Outrageous sensibly priced menu, friendly staff eager to please, Loved the auto racing decor. Got to hear some live music to boot. Would have loved to have stayed to shoot some pool or throw some darts. My daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce cheese and onion, and I had the Bison Burger, it was a BEAST! easily 1/2lb with blue/jack cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce red onion, tomato and pickles on a nice sturdy bun. Hidden GEM on the west side! This place has been around for years but they have added on an outside seating area and some new menu items. I had the WILD BEAST BURGER! Words can not describe this must have burger (Elk, Bison, boar and Wagyu. Served on a buttery brioche bun a meal for a king...the smoked wings are also amazing. We walked into VERY LOUD music, people hollering at one another, there was a poker game going on, all in all everyone seemed to be drunk and happy. People seemed to one another and even the guys who said they knew no one there, within minutes were chatting away with people. THE FOOD Simply was GREAT. I had a BBQ burger, cooked perfectly, BBQ sauce along with fries were hot and very good. My friend had a breaded pork sandwich and he raved about it as well. Bartender was busy but stayed on top of everything. We were asked by another man that was likely the owner how the food was and told us that it does get loud in here. Hoo boy. The outside had me nervous but the Yelp reviews had me excited. Glad I went with the reviews. Stopped in on a business trip to Muncie. It was pretty slow (likely because it was 2pm on a Thursday) but I ordered the hot buffalo jumbo wings with bleu cheese and an angry orchard - far from a special order but the result was fantastic. Amy was my server/bartender's name and she was awesome - attentive but not overbearing, friendly and genuine. The wings themselves were the perfect mix of smoky and spicy - just a little bit of a leathery skin with tender bite-off-the-bone meat underneath. And when they say jumbo they mean it! I didn't get the most adventurous of an order but there were a ton of other items on the menu that I wanted to try. If I were able to try something more, this place could easily be a five star review. Hopefully business will bring me back in town in the future - I would definitely return! read more

Worst Bar Ever? Possibly! I love dive bars and, based on Yelp reviews, thought this might be fun to check out. Wrong! I stopped in on a Monday about 12:30 PM. The bar was about half full with a couple of people at tables. I sat down at the bar. There was a staff member working on something about 6 ft. from me. She provided no acknowledgement, "be with you in a minute", nothing. Fine, I'll wait. Checked out the cooking area, which did not seem to be very clean or productive either. Still no response from the "bartender"(?). Is she clueless or just doesn't care? Continued to wait. She continued to do whatever she was doing. A gentleman came over to sit next to me at the bar. He clearly wanted to pay his bill. Finally, she saw him and took his credit card. Still nothing to me. About 10 minutes had passed and I was done with this place. I will take it that they DO NOT want new customers or are just totally incompetent. Kind of going with the latter. There are a couple of great "dive bars" in Indy. This is NOT one of them.
