I took out a sandwich for lunch on a week day. Food was ready within 10 minutes of order. Jamaican red was my item. It was nice and had some good flavors.

Food was decent. It's a solid sandwich, but not the best I've ever had. The restaurant itself is really loud and the smell is strong so I'd rather order to go instead of eating in. The garlic bread is pretty yummy so I'd recommend, but you'll probably be really full afterwards if you also eat an entire sandwich. Service was fine, nothing extraordinary. Overall it's a good place if you're looking for a casual sandwich shop. Would be a good place to go after a night out I feel like.

Ice cube dispenser alone is worthy of a 5 star review. Staff was excellent and the toastiness of the sandwiches were exceptional.

Kush - a BLT. I recommend adding jalepeno cream cheese or honey mustard or both!

How can I summarize how incredible Cheba Hut is? It is my favorite place in the whole word. I've had every sandwich on the menu (plus a few secret items), and except for a few odd ones out, they're all amazing. First things first: get the garlic herb bread. It's what makes the sandwich so good. It's a bit crunchy from being toasted, and it's amazing. A pinner (8 inches) is probably the right size, unless you are really hungry (then get a blunt, 12 inches) or only want a snack (then get a nug, 4 inches). You also likely want to get your sandwich loaded up (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, house dressing, and Parmesan), because it really adds to the sandwich. If you're looking for the most basic but delicious sandwich, get either the White Widow or the Kali Mist. White Widow is chicken, bacon, ranch, and mushrooms, Kali Most is turkey, bacon, avocado, jalapeños, and chipotle mayo. If you want to be a little bit more adventurous, try the Thai Stick - teriyaki chicken with green peppers and pineapple. I recommend adding honey mustard to it to really make it good. If you want the absolutely weird flavor combo only a stoner could come up with, order the Grape Ape, a secret menu item that has jalapeño cream cheese, meatballs, bbq sauce, grape jelly, pineapple, cheddar cheese, and bacon. It'll blow your mind. This list isn't exhaustive, as I said, every sandwich is amazing. Lastly, top off your meal with a munchie or a goo ball - basically Rice Krispie treats made with weird cereals - the perfect end to a perfect meal. I highly recommend eating at Cheba rather than taking it to go or getting it delivered because 1) the sandwiches are really saucy and don't travel well and 2) the staff are super nice and it's worth hanging around them.

My bread was dry, and I'm not even positive there was any type of sauce on my sub. French onion soup has almost no cheese.

Between the two of us, we spent about $60 for this meal, which I suppose now adays is on par with what you can get away with. We also left with half a sandwich because honestly, these guys are huge! -Hot Beef Sando with Cheese (extra): this was a massive sandwich, packed with flavor. The ah jus was on the side and needed for dunking. It hit the spot, was a messy affair, but was very good. The meat wasn't melt in your mouth, it was actually quite dry, but the mix of everything together and the dip made it good overall. - Chili Cup: well spiced, super small cup and charging a dollar for each addition of onion, cheese, and sour cream is murder. Pass on the fixings, the soup doesn't need it, but it's not something i'd get again as it wasn't knock out of the park good. -Homemade Orange Soda: this was great. I wouldn't say that it moved quickly per se, but quick enough. The time spent on the queue is good for catching up on emails, some self reflection, or perusing the menus that they have stacked on the counter. We finally made it to the register. I ordered a ginger pistachio Matcha (iced of course, in this heat) and GF a banana something latte. The morning bun was fantastic. It almost reminds me of a cruffin. Maybe lighter? It wasn't overwhelming, it was flaky and delicate with a muffin-esque but lighter booty. A delightful breakfast snack. The matcha was out of this world. Such a unique and delicious flavor.
