Visited Cheba Hut while in Gilbert. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, and the service was friendly and welcoming, especially for first-timers -- we immediately felt comfortable ordering. Tried a couple of their signature sandwiches -- the buns were pleasantly light and airy, and the flavors were savory and tasty, which made the whole experience better than expected. We also enjoyed sitting out on the patio, which added to the relaxed vibe. Overall, a solid spot and worth a return visit. Saluti.

G-13 Club Sandwich (12")

The sandwiches were large and they tasted great. We got the G-13 which is club and the Cali Mist. Both were fantastic. The nachos were ok, but they got burnt up in the oven a bit and stuck to the paper they were served in so half the cheese has paper in it. The garlic bread had, no joke, about an inch of cheese melted on top... That's crazy... crazy delicious. It was so good and they give you ranch and marinara which is nice. Service was quick and easy, and the vibe of the place is just like a little hang out spot. Very calm, Kool aid in the corner, a bar in the other. I like it

Not only do they always treat me right whenever I come in (I live up the road) but my Sandwhich is always stacked and on this particular night getting off late from work and picking up my gf for dinner they got our carry out order ready to go so fast I didn't even need to turn my car off. The place is always clean and the bar always has killer recommendations. Wesley's the man!

Stopped in after a round of golf and we're happy they opened at 10am. We had been to the original Mesa location prior but this one is an upgrade. It shares the space with a brewery so you can eat and grab a cold one. We order 2 subs The Kind and Kali Mist. Both we great but the Kali was exceptional with the spicy mayo All the right toppings and super fresh. For drinks, they had Pepsi products. They also have a selection of Kool-Aid, which all the flavors were amazing or like I said, hit up the brewery and get yourself a cold one. It is decorated great, had high tops- low tops and some booths for seating . We loved it. We'll definitely be back.

Jamaican Red (Buffalo Chicken)

I met up with some co-workers for lunch on a Thursday at noon. The parking lot was busy, but the restaurant wasn't too busy. I was 6th or 7th in line, it moved quick. I received my Jamaican Red sub about 15 min after ordering. It was tasty, but could have had more buffalo sauce. We all shared some Pretzel Nuggets, I didn't think I would like them but I did! Good vibes inside! It's clean, there's nice decor, and the employees are friendly. There's plenty of seating! You can sit in a booth, at a table, and at the bar. Yes, there's a bar! I'll definitely be back!

It has been a LONG time since I've been to a Cheba Hut. We always have trouble thinking of nearby places to go for sandwiches, so it's nice to have this option now. One key point; THREE flavors of Kool Aid are available. That brings back memories for me more than anything else. But, don't forget the food! My sandwich (Kali Mist) was excellent as well: fresh produce and bread that was crunchy and toasty. Toppings: roasted turkey breast, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapeño, avocado, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, Shake & House dressing. The jalapeños are fresh rather than pickled, which gives them a sharpness, crunch and heat to balance the richness of the meats and dressings. We sat on the patio, which was cool in December, but also nice and quieter than the inside. Yes, we'll be back. Wait time was a bit longer than usual, but that is likely because we showed up at a prime time: the place was pretty full and there was a line at the "pick up to go orders" area, too. That's a good sign. Keep it up!

I am a big fan of Cheba Hut and it always hits the spot. I introduced my mom this week and she now has fallen in love. We walked in around 6:30pm on Tuesday and it was fairly busy. Almost all tables were occupied inside and there were some tables available outside. We waited a few minutes to order and the cashier rang us up quick. We ordered: One 8' White Widow with garlic bread One 8' Chronic - no BBQ sauce, garlic bread One 8' G-13 - with garlic bread Two bags of chips One drink Total with tip: $56 We luckily found a table inside and it was clean. One of the workers was stocking up the chips and she kindly handed us our 2 bags. We sat down and waited about 20 minutes for our food which did seem a little too long... The wait wasn't an issue as our food came out hot and was just made. My white widow was toasty and the cheese was gooey. We all very much enjoyed our subs as they were all delicious. There was a worker going around cleaning up tables and also offering to take peoples trash which was nice. The TV's were playing cartoons and the music was gooood. The bar was pretty busy and the pick up area stayed busy with to go orders. We finished eating and as we were about to walk out, we were thanked and told to come back again from the worker who handed us our chips. It was such a small gesture but we felt appreciated. Overall will be back! Glad this location opened up!

Fresh and tasty, Cheba Hut always hits the spot! I love the Griefo sans black olives. I am SO happy that Cheba Hut is now in Gilbert!

French Dip- no veggies
Christine B.

I'm happy to have a new sandwich option in this area, especially one that toasts their creations. It always seems to make them taste better. I had the French Dip and my husband had the Kali Mist - both great sandwiches. They come in 4, 8 or 12" sizes but I found the four inch to be filling enough. It was a bit of a wait for our food but that could be because there seemed to be a lot of people waiting for takeout orders that day. The dining room was also crowded - we sat on the patio- so it's a promising sign that they're doing well. Be aware of the restaurant's overall theme if you plan to take your grandma or little kids. I know we've found a new sandwich option "joint" for our rotation.

If you establish a presence here, they will take care of you. Consistency is another major selling point. Go here 10 times, and your food is going to be on point about 9.5 of those times. Those are pretty good odds. They have just recently started a soft launch of their fall/winter menu, which means they are experimenting with a few new dishes while bringing back some old favorites. One of those returning favorites is the crispy cauliflower. Last time around, it was fantastic. This time, while still tasty, it had apparently filed a formal complaint against the word "crispy" because there was very little evidence to support the claim. Even the bartender agreed with me that it was somewhat misrepresented. Tip: Get the sauce on the side. It will help preserve what level of crisp that is intended for this dish. Now, let us move on to the star of the evening. The new chicken parmigiana! Holy mother of God. Butter my butt and call me a biscuit. This may genuinely be one of the most beautiful, perfectly textured, and downright delicious chicken parmigianas I have ever had. The chicken was crisped to absolute perfection, and the way they layered the marinara on top was brilliant. Rather than drowning the chicken in a traditional, liquidy sauce, they used more of a bruschetta-style topping, which gave it texture while somehow allowing the breading to remain gloriously crispy. Hands down, one of the best chicken parmigianas I have ever had. Now we just need to pray to whatever culinary deity is responsible for consistency that they can replicate this thing every time, because this one was ridiculously good. One final recommendation: split the dish.Unless you are the kind of person who considers a family-size portion a light snack, there is plenty of food here for two.

But, my wife had fries that I could steal and I appreciate having a salad option. The little side salad had a nice bitterness complemented by the slight sourness of the dressing. The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.

Upon entering there were about 7 of is stay the counter, the other 5 left before I was done, ready to go... I along with another patron had to ask for the check. I had my card ready & placed the check towards the server area, the young girl was either new or just didn't care about service. I hope someone could help this young girl learn about efficiency & service. We watched her walk around, chat with the cooks as if she forgot we were sitting here. Nobody came close enough to grab their attention so we could pay, after about 15 minutes & empty Coffee cup, the youngman saw my look of needing help while he was gathering plates from the dining room. The youngman came over to take our checks, I mentioned the guy next to me needed a bill adjustment & I handed him my bill with my card. He then proceeded to adjust the other patrons check & set mine aside. I think he could have run my card, since my bill was good then helped the other customer, he didn't. It's little things like this that make me feel "why go out to eat if they just don't care?" The food was great & I will be back during the next show, hoping for better service.

One important note: I hate beer. I don't even like seltzers you'd get in a can that much. Cocktails and mixed drinks are my go-to. However, I do like ciders and my mom likes meads, which means she thinks I'd like meads as well. Anyway, we arrived around 5 on a Friday and the place was smaller than I expected, and not very crowded at all. There was only one bartender and he wasn't busy when we sat down at the bar, meaning he was very friendly and attentive. I like anything fruity and/or sour, so when I saw the sour gummy candy drink, I knew I had to try a sample. Not surprisingly, it wasn't as amazing as I expected. I then tried a sample of this honey pear cider, and it was a little better than the sour gummy candy drink. My mom ordered a 5 oz of the other flavor we were eyeing: the key lime pie cider. That was the best cider we had tried. The mead flavors all looked intriguing, but I just didn't feel right spending $11 on a drink that I didn't even know if I'd like (since you can't sample meads). If I was feeling more adventurous, I would have gotten the pb&j mead, but I opted for a prickly pear and vodka lemonade. I watched the bartender make it and he poured quite a hefty amount of vodka in the glass. I wasn't complaining one bit (my mom was scared though lol). Upon tasting it, it wasn't the best mixed drink ever, but it was strong and went down easy. Plus, it was a better price than these $16 cocktails you see at all restaurants nowadays. My dad got the moose drool brown ale and I hated it whereas he liked it. It was a nice, clean place with just the perfect temperature air conditioning, and the happy hour time range is honestly amazing if you're like us and prefer to go out early and be home for the rest of the night. Also, sick merch. It was giving Game of Thrones (hence the dragon name haha).

I did appreciate that the speakeasy was below ground and required a password. I do think it's odd that when making a reservation online, you are not prompted on how to retrieve the password. It kind of feels like forever because there's nowhere to go and could create a little bit of potential claustrophobia/panic for people who may be sensitive to those types of environments. The drink menu was good but I really wasn't wowed. They did offer three mocktails which wasn't really impressive and the cocktails did include a variety of liquors and flavor profiles but again, wasn't as extensive or interesting as some other speakeasies around town. The food menu was very disappointing - a lot of dairy and bread - pretzels with cheese, flatbread, queso with chips, and "rabbit food" - hummus with bread and vegetables. We asked to have all vegetables instead of bread and they did accommodate with a generous helping of full-size rainbow carrots and cherry tomatoes. We actually ran out of hummus before we could finish the vegetables. I understand elevated pricing for the aesthetic/experience but I did think the pricing here was a little bit high for what was received.
