This was a solid Italian sub. The ingredients were fresh, and so was the rosemary bread. I just wish there were more of the toppings as compared to some of their competitors. I would try Cheba Hut again to see what their other sandwiches are like. read more

The sandwiches here are so dang good. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. There is a bar which gives Cheba's a fun vibe. I love the stickers all over the glass window - so fun! Staff is always so friendly and patient. This is a favorite for our family. read more

First impressions are everything and mine wasn't great. I know this place is always packed and everybody loves it, but maybe I'm the only person that they ever screwed up on. Not a good idea to screw up on my sandwich the first time I come. Whoever took our order was very excited to accommodate us. He should've told us that the person making the sandwich would not be as such. I asked for extra veggies and like I said, he was more than willing to accommodate us. But the person making the sandwich failed to do any of the veggies. Because everybody sung the praises of this place, I didn't think to check until I got home. I cannot eat a sandwich without vegetables. In fact, I would rather have vegetables than meat or cheese. So this went in the trash. Too much to spend for 20 bucks. My daughter liked her sandwich, but it wasn't anything special. She said it was very dry, which is not a plus. We like our sauces. And we aren't big chain people. I'd prefer to eat a sandwich at a mom and Pop shop. Since I really didn't get to try them, I may come back and give it another chance. Although I wasn't impressed with the fact that everything about this sub shop points to being a stoner and I know a lot of stoners. My son is a stoner. It kind of disgusts me. But it wouldn't surprise me if there's enough stoners in this world to keep this place in business or enough people that just don't care. I just am not a fan. Once we went inside, I could tell that this place had to have good food. Appetizers: - we had the pretzel bites which was really salty but good, - Not-Chos that were just nachos but extreme. It was Nacho cheese Doritos and melted cheese, ranch, and hot sauce which made the whole thing amazing. (We had to get another one! The boom! ) Entree: - Ak-47 which was a roast beef sandwich with Auju sauce. we ordered only beef and cheese for the kids which was kinda plain and dry at first but then once my son dipped in it the auju and loved it, they ate it all so quickly - 5-0 the was an Italian sandwich that my husband loved it The service was good and the owner also checked on us and very nice guy. read more

Went to lunch for my husband's birthday at this location on a Saturday afternoon. Sat at the bar and was ignored. My husband went to the front and was told by a guy with orange hair "I'll be with you in a minute" and then dismissed him. So he sat down at the bar with me again. We continued to wait and were ignored, even when the person beside us was served food by the same orange haired guy. We gave up so I found the orange haired guy and said "you told my husband you'd be with us in one minute, but don't worry about it, we're leaving and this was his birthday lunch." His response was "we don't have anyone serving at the bar." I said that would've been nice to know. Then he dared to smart off to me by saying "well, you should've asked." My husband has a meeting scheduled already in Colorado with corporate Cheba Hut & will be sure to let them know about the service and why their beverage sales arelow. Because you CANNOT even get a drink menu or get served!! If you're not serving at the bar, you should have someone letting customers that walk in to order at the front. But how are you supposed to get a beverage if no one is serving at the bar. Terrible terrible service with a side of smartass attitude. We went to HopDoddy in Prosper and got welcomed immediately and had our beverages within minutes. If I could give negative star review I would. This was not our first bad experience. read more

I have been wanting to try Cheba Hut for a while now, so I was so happy when I saw they were finally coming to McKinney. We stopped by on a Sunday night - the place was pretty quiet. Our sandwiches took maybe 10-15 minutes max. I got the Kali Mist without bacon and my husband got the Apollo 13 (but took out a few things and made it his own). The vibes inside are fun - definitely hippie/stoner. Love the character . Such fun murals inside with cool stickers to check out all over the place. We are so excited to see a great sandwich spot make it to this side of town and will be repeat customers :) read more
