I have tried a couple of these stands on route to Filene's, but have found this particular stand to stand out from the rest in terms of hygiene and turn over. Their Italian sausage hot dogs ($5) are really, really tasty. The fragrant (spiced with fennel) and cylindrical piece of meat is grilled to perfection with a slightly crisp skin; resulting in an audible "pop" upon sinking one's incisors within. They are topped with grilled sweet onions and peppers; a distinctively delicious scent that I can pick up 2 blocks away. I always gobble up the onions in mad delight - and this comes from someone who's hated onions all her life. Did I mention the extremely friendly and courteous hot dog vendor? He always hands you the dawg with a smile and is proud of his little stand.

It was reminiscient of a corny grilled cheese or a corny sauceless pizza. Since, hobbit-like, it was my 2nd mid-day meal, I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing, but then I figured it wouldn't reheat in a microwave all that well... It was a nice snack, but it is priced a little high to make it as a regular snack destination for me... more like a special sometime treat. Those things are DANGEROUS. They were truly unbelievable. The crispy fries paired with thousand island and corned beef made for a serious explosion of flavor. It didn't hurt that the guys working were so sweet and kind. I would absolutely stop by their bus again if I ever see them out and about.
