The roof that was installed came out beautifully. Jaime's work team was respectful & worked so quickly despite the high temperatures. Aware of our tenants they went out of their way to be quiet- no music or yelling. The price was very reasonable & the owner, Jaime, always contacted us to review what they were encountering & options for consideration. We would not hesitate to hire them again. If I could give these guys 15 stars I would. I am the Treasurer of a very VERY picky HOA membership. Chavez was incredibly responsive, thorough, and came out multiple times to ensure everyone was happy with the finished product. When we required multiple change orders they responded immediately so as to not impact our painting and stucco project. They did a fantastic job. I highly highly recommend Chavez Roofing. Jaime & Jimmy are the Dynamic Duo. read more

It was a great experience start to finish Easy scheduling. Estimator came out the next day. Got a quote that afternoon. I contacted Jaime for a couple of questions regarding materials and installation. It was a flat roof which was in bad shape. Jaime went over in detail in terms I could understand. Set up a date, they were booled out about two or three weeks. They showed up on time and got right to it. They sent me pictures through the complete tear off and showing me the damaged wood. Finished in about three and a half days and it's beautiful. I would use them again absolutely. read more

Just had our roof done & we decided to replace all the tiles as well. The Chavez Roofing team did an amazing job. I also needed a few extra items taking care of to fit our motorhome better on the side & it turned out great. Workers were top notch & know what they are doing. Hard workers for sure!! read more

Superior service and very responsive roofing contractor. Went above and beyond to meet a critical timeline for us heading into a rainy weekend and sale of a property. Uncovered some hidden structural issues, took photos and put together a proposal to correct those as well. Absolutely outstanding work at a very fair price. read more

Jimmy is a great guy and also very communicative. The crew has done quality work with great attention to detail. Excellent!! We desperately needed help after our old skylights started leaking, and after talking to a few different companies, we chose Chavez Roofing. They were quick to schedule a free consult and take photos to validate cracks and even found former water damage- that they fixed without charging me extra. We were able to schedule and the team was punctual, professional and hard-working! I would definitely recommend using Jaime and his team! read more

We bought a house that needed a new roof or at least replacement of the underlayment. We got more than 5 quotes and met with way too many companies. Chavez Roofing was the best company as far as price, communication, and professionalism. I cannot express the gratitude that I have for Jimmy and his crew. It is so hard to find a good and trustworthy company. His crew showed up early and worked hard. The crew was nice and professional. The day before scheduled work they dropped off a work truck. We didn't have an in-person assessment until the day before start of work. I was told my roof had two roofs and would cost slightly more. I was immediately concerned and expressed it to Jimmy. He called and explained the situation. The next day they found the two roofs was in only one part and not the entire roof. That was a relief and I'm glad Jimmy took the extra effort to communicate with me through the entire process. They documented and measured all the areas of wood that needed replacement. The work looked excellent. They had to replace some rafters too and the replacement looks better than before. Only issue are some nails that pierced through the cathedral ceiling. I informed them several times about the exposed ceiling and was assured the nails were not long enough, but there were about 10 nails that came through. Regardless, I highly recommend Chavez Roofing for any area. I am located in South Bay and the crew always showed up early and worked entire days. Good quality results. read more

Best roofers in San Diego. They're quick and clean about their work. I've continuously recommended him since 2020. I love companies that have history of the family trade and continue to provide great service. read more

I was in the process of getting a new roof for a rental. These folks were actually working at a house near me and I walked my dog past their worksite 3-4 days in a row and was quite impressed with the speed and quality of work. Ended up talking to the workers and got a quote from them. Their quote came in reasonable and the person I talked to was very patient and guided me through the process smoothly. In the quoting process, the informed me there might be additional charges once they see what's under the roof. Sure enough, there was some wood damages and they gave me a reasonable price to get that done. I'm very happy with the service received and have then referred a few other friends to their business. read more

Jaime and his team did a great job on a lift and relay for my roof. Used Malarkey 40 UDL, 2 layers. Great communication throughout. Crew cleaned up at the end of each day. Love that it's a local family business, 2nd generation roofer. I highly recommend Chavez Roofing. read more

Just had my whole roof replacement done on Apr 3, 2024. From an estimated of 4-5 days to complete, it only took Chavez Roofing 3 days to finish. From the office to the job site, its service is SUPERB. Everyone treated me with courtesy & respect, with lots of flexibility & understanding. Workmanship was outstanding..great quality of work and most of all, the price cost was very reasonable, way cheaper than its competitors. I will definitely recommend this company on any roof work. To the Chavez Roofing Services Inc employees, keep up the good work & customer service. May God bless you more contracts in the days, months & years ahead. read more

I just had our roof replaced by Chavez Roofing a few days ago and I am truly impressed by the exceptional work and service provided by this amazing company. Everyone from the owner Jimmy whom I worked with from start to finish , to the work crew led by Beto who went out of their way to provide me and my family with quality work and impeccable service. Geraldine in the office always made sure to communicate with me in regards to any updates as well. I am extremely happy and very pleased with this wonderful family owned business whom not only had one of the most competitive quotes but also delivered on their promise to provide excellent work. I am very thankful for my beautiful new roof and will definitely be recommending them to all my family and friends. read more

Was getting my roof checked out, this company said I need a complete re roof which would cost over 18k. Called two other roofers who said it was in good condition and just replaced some tiles and recomendad I clean. Crazy to me that this company would have had me spend over 15k instead of the light maintenance which was about $1500. Can't speak on their work but expect the most expensive option if they come out to inspect. There inspection took about 2 min. read more

We contracted Chavez Roofing to replace our Torch-Down Roof and honestly, we couldn't have made a better decision. The entire crew was professional and friendly and were very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. I found them to be honest and up front in what the Roofing Project was going to cost, as well as ensuring we always knew and understood what materials needed to be replaced through numerous pictures via text and email. The days my Roofing project happened were scorching hot in El Cajon, but the crew still worked just as hard as if it was a cooler day (I just hope they took some much needed breaks off the roof to cool down). So, I was very impressed by their dedication to doing the job right even when conditions were tough. I will definitely be recommending Chavez Roofing to anyone I know that needs Roof work. THIS IS THE BEST ROOFING COMPANY IN SAN DIEGO! Chavez Roofing was one of five roofing companies I called for an estimate, as I'm picky about contractors and their entire work ethic, not just the end results. They were reasonable as far as the roofing cost, falling somewhere in the middle of the quotes I received even though they were the most comprehensive in their warranty. I'm sure it's easier to give such a great warranty when the scope of work, craftsmanship, and the quality of the materials they use blew away the competition. Jaime (Jimmy), the owner, answered my call promptly, then he patiently answered all my questions. When he came out to take a look at our roof, he talked us through the entire roofing process. We had to work around the removal and replacement of our solar panels by another company, which made it more difficult to schedule, but all throughout the project, Jaime was responsive and flexible with the timing. The end result was breathtaking. Chavez Roofing turned my "ho-hum", 20+ year roof into a spectacular Mediterranean-themed work of art. His crew is friendly, professional, and punctual. They care about the details and follow-through on their promises. I highly recommend this company and I'm not the only one who thinks they're great. When I spoke with an Eagle representative about the tiles I chose, they told me they'd been working with Chavez roofing for over 30 years both in a residential and commercial building partnership. They gave a great review as well! read more

I recently had Chavez Roofing do a lift and relay on my roof and I couldn't be happier with the results. With all the rain, leaks were discovered and much needed repaired were necessary on my aging roof. From start to finish, their professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding. The initial consultation was thorough, and they took the time to explain the entire process, including the materials they would use and the timeline for completion. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently, and completed the job on time. Pictures of the roof were sent on a regular replace showing the before, and after of the repairs. The quality of their workmanship is exceptional. I happily recommend Chavez Roofing to anyone in need of roofing services. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Chavez Roofing, and I'm confident in saying that they are the best in the business. Thank you for a job well done! read more

I don't usually write negative reviews about family owned businesses, but Chavez Roofing Services really dropped the ball on multiple fronts. Not only did one of their crew members use our backyard as a bathroom and leave a mess with roofing materials, but when we called to sort it out, the representative got defensive instead of helping. And the kicker? A couple of months later, we discovered they reused all the old metal vent pipings on our new roof, despite leading us to believe they would replace them. A new roof with outdated vents? It's disappointing how they handled the whole project - definitely regretting choosing them over quality service. We ended up paying another roofer to replace the vents. It just hurts when you spend all your hard earned money for an expensive roofing job only to feel taken advantage of. After working with the new roofer, we realized we made a mistake choosing cost over quality workmanship. Reading through previous reviews here in Yelp, we should have listened to the review by Kevin. Our mistake. One that we will never make again when fixing our beloved home in the future. Thanks for the lesson Chavez. read more

Great service and very competitive estimates. Highly recommended. When financing the project be sure to get a bigger loan just in case there may be unseen damage to the roof structure requiring extra money to repair. read more

Chavez Roofing do not stand by their work and they will upcharge you from whatever their original quote is. It is a habit, even if nothing additional is added or wrong. I hired them to replace a flat roof. They ended up charging $4,000 more than the original estimate, they removed drains that were vital to the function of my flat roof even after telling me it would drain better then before, which it does not. It's now raining and the roof is not draining and there is massive pooling, and they won't come out to repair their mistake. I would be very cautious in hiring this company. Also, the drip edge they installed looked awful. They got tar on it, bent it in multiple places, and installed more seams then needed. They didn't provide any warning when installing about needing to straighten wood, but then after completing it, they blame the wood on the corners. I think they paid family and friends to write their other reviews. Maybe hire them if you don't care how your roof looks when finished. read more

Jaimie and his team were great. I was referred to him from a friend. I took several quotes, he was competitive, and provided clear scope of work and disclosed any potential fees that could occur. Which is helpful when selecting a contractor. During the installation, he communicated everyday with progress pictures and a detailed update. We installed during a small rainstorm that was coming into San Diego. His team was able to get the waterproofing in before the rain came in and kept me in the loop when his team was ready to go back and finish the job. Which I appreciated as we had tenants in there and didn't want to bother them too much. Overall, the experience was great. I plan to use him again in the future. read more

I used Chavez Roofing Services to redo the underlayment on my roof. I received multiple bids and found Chavez to be quite competitive. They were prompt, had a strong crew to do the work, and delivered just as promised. They had to do some woodwork where there quote was unambiguous about the cost (and it was also reasonable). I was waiting for the San Diego "Atmospheric River" to downpour before I wrote a review. But their work stood up to the test. This is my new roofer for future work and I highly recommend them. read more
