My significant other and I dined in on a steady Saturday afternoon, before grocery shopping. Overall the food was very good! I would consider it to be fresh, modern Mexican cuisine. We ordered al pastor gringo tacos, birria egg rolls, and a carne asada papa loca. Our favorite item was the papa loca by far! The carne asada had an excellent smokey flavor, and the potato was perfectly baked. The other items were tasty and extremely flavorful. We can't wait to come back to try more!

Amazing Al pastor tacos! This spot is always the go-to for tacos - especially the taco Tuesday deal that is buy 2 get 1. They have assorted agua frescas and a bar with pickled carrots and sauces. Service is quick and friendly, and the restaurant has cute casual seating.

I've been holding off coming to chatos, finally made it in, and this will now be in my rotation of frequent restaurants in the area. The birria is delicious, I loved the elote, and every taco I tried hit the spot, I had the Al pastor, carne, Birria and pollo. The spot is clean and it stays busy.

It's Taco... Thursday? Chatos Tacos is a taqueria located in a small but relatively new plaza on the southwest corner of Stephanie and Wigwam. They have the sort of menu familiar for anyone who frequents similar spots around town. I showed up for an early dinner and found both the parking lot and dining room pretty vacant. I had tacos on my mind and got several ($3.50, with one exception from my choices). The portions are in the 3-4 bite range, which was plenty enough to fill me up. The al pastor was the al pa-star, with juicy marinated pork, delicious pineapple, and a mild-medium creamy green salsa served on two tortillas. Carnitas, buche, asada were all good too. The carnitas is packed with moist pork, the buche is soft and flavorful, and the asada is surprisingly tender and carries some light char. The quesabirria ($4.00) was a little salty for me though. That's surprising considering that the consomme ($2.00) is not too salty and is actually drinkable just as a soup. I wasn't feeling the taco and would have preferred skipping it, although it did do the most to make the horchata ($4.50, 24 oz) seem worthwhile. Their recipe is a little sweet for my taste, although I'm sure I can blend some coffee with it tomorrow morning. There isn't much service in their business model, and you can grab your own goodies from the salsa bar, including very juicy lime wedges and thankfully mild tomatillo salsa. There's a mishmash of stuff on TV, including reruns of Kitchen Nightmares (maybe to make these guys look better), but the loud music seemed like all reggaeton beats blasting over the speakers. Chatos has some of the best al pastor tacos I've tasted in a while, so I'll definitely be back when that craving hits. They're a must-try if you live in Henderson for the al pastor alone and mostly do other proteins well too.

Came to try the infamous Papa Loca! loaded potato with your choice of meat -- we went with al pastor -- topped with crema, cheese, cilantro, and guac. Super comforting and fun to eat! Also tried the birria eggrolls, stuffed with protein and a side of consome to dip. Will def be back to try more items. Clean atmosphere and quick service too.

I hardly ever feel compelled to write reviews but this is the best Mexican food I've had in Vegas in a very long time! Cute spot, I love the beer chairs, no frills but the food blew my mind. Without meat, the regular burrito is vegan with whole beans and no need to modify it. I added the papas and it was amazing. But the salsa bar is what makes this spot even better; the smoky hot red salsa is out of this world. The ingredients used are all SO fresh. You can taste the quality. The service was good as well! Not located close to me either, but I'll be going out of my way to eat here as much as possible.

One of my top fave after this first visit! Flavorful chicken tacos, seasoned and cooked perfectly! Delicious elote on the stick or off is a must have! Friendly service with kind greetings as you walk in! Seating inside only with a casual set up of chairs made of metal barrels. Really cute! Music playing overhead with two 65-70" TV's for viewing! Highly recommend for small gathering with friends for lunch, mid day or end of day treat! This is their only location but I will gladly make the trek back from southwest Las Vegas to Henderson for these delicious tacos!

I am sold that they have some of the best Mexican food in town! Whenever we go it's busy so you know it MUST be good. We usually opt for some tacos and an elote. My favorite thing to do is get the gringo tacos cus it makes it EXTRA delicious.. cheesy goodness!!! The best thing I've had here is their tacos de papa. Their green sauce that's smothered on it is sooooo good. And their birria egg rolls... game changer. Don't forget the consume dip. Flavors out of this world! We always get friendly, quick service and the inside is clean with a bunch of tables. Bathroom has a koala care for those who need a baby changing station. Stroller table friendly!

This was a recommendation from my friend. She raved about the loaded baked potato. I got a loaded potato (papa loca) with al pastor and a buche taco. The buche taco was super soft almost melt in your mouth and very flavorful. The loaded baked potato was topped with cheese, guacamole, cilantro, crema and al pastor. I had the onions on the side. Very delicious and the flavorful. The only side note for me is they need to add more meat for the price point. I also had a cucumber/lime aqua fresca which was fantastic. A very nice vibe and the staff very welcoming and friendly. I'll be returning very soon.

Chatos is pumping some great food out of the kitchen. Tried a little bit of a lot of item on their menu. One that was really good was the birria egg rolls and the buche tacos. Definitely gotta eat the birria tacos right away since the juices from the meat can make the soggy. The buche tacos were really good. Had to order a few more. It was busy when we arrived but they were getting the food out in good time. Also you have to try the loaded potato. The salsa was a bit on the limy so it over powered everything else. Great taco shop with different options.

Absolutely delicious being from Cali these are the best tacos I've had in Vegas and the elote perfection! Way better than taco el gordo

When you walk in it is nice and bright. The cashier was sweet, but seems a little bit hectic. Overall from the time we ordered, picked our seat, and grabbed condiments it was a quick turn around. The horchata is not self serve, but it was delish! Pricey side for almost $5, but good. The food was the star. The burrito was pretty traditional, nothing special. The cheese taco was a bit oily but had a nice crisp. I loved the pickled onions on this. Now the true reason we came was for the stuft potato. This is the STAR and worth every single penny. I would drive the 45 minutes for this in a heartbeat. Since its a drive from Skye Canyon, I may try to find a similar place in Centennial, but this was a hit

We just moved to Henderson a few months ago and we've already eaten here 3 times! It's so yummy!!! We've had the breakfast burrito, the famous potato (twice), and the Birria egg rolls, everything is soooooooooooo good!!! I'll be back many more times. Came for the Papa Loca and stayed for the Elote and Tacos. They ran out of the potatoes when we arrived, but there was an hour wait for more so I ordered one to go. I'm from Texas so we're really big on Tex-mex. This is certainly an establishment I would visit at home. Taco of pastor was great with the twist of pineapple. Elite w a solid choice too. Very affordable and not overpriced in comparison to some places I've visited in LV. Decor is cute! Service was exceptional. Staff were very friendly. read more

The wife and I tried chatos Tacos today. We really enjoyed the food. Everything we tried was packed with delicious flavors. No kidding, the rice and beans actually did taste like my mother's rice and beans. The salsas on the self serve salsa bar were all excellent. You go in and order at the counter. The first time, they brought the food to our table and the second time, we had to go up to the counter to get our food. It's an open dining area. It wasn't loud in there while we were there but I'm sure it could get loud if it was busy. They sell a large variety of drinks and even beer selections. Too bad it's so far from where we live otherwise we would probably be there more often. So good! read more

Chatos tacos is my favorite taco place. There's no close second. From the food to the consistent excellent customer server from the staff this place deserves to be recognized. Had higher hopes because the food looked amazing, but wouldn't come back. The asada tacos were oddly seasoned with too much black pepper and the pastor meat was borderline mushy. I felt bad because it's a small business, but I didn't even finish my food before leaving. read more

Disappointed and Frustrated We had high hopes for this place after hearing so many great things, but unfortunately, the customer service left a really bad taste--literally and figuratively. First off, we specifically went out of our way--drove 20 minutes--just to try the Papa Loca, only to be told they only had one left when we needed two. That alone was frustrating, especially since we made the trip just for that. Strike two came when we ordered Loaded Fries and clearly asked for no Pico. We got home, and what do we find? Fries covered in Pico. My husband absolutely hates Pico, so this was a huge letdown. He was so upset he drove another 20 minutes back to have it remade. And what did they offer for the inconvenience? A free drink. That's it. After two round trips and an overall disappointing experience, that gesture felt incredibly dismissive. We expected much better. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

Five stars. Selina R really good service she's the cashier. She knows my order right when she sees me. Will not be going to any other place for burritos. I use to go to another place but the burritos are always greasy and are only ok sometimes. Saw Chatos tacos on instagram and wanted to try it myself to see if it's the same quality from videos and it is. The service is great. They treat me like a regular. I come here every week at the end of the week and the quality of the food is 5 out of 5. The steak is always juicy and well cooked. The beans are great flavored. Quesabirria is 5 out of 5. I've gone to many places in Vegas for burritos and as of right now this ranks for me number 1. For those wondering it's better than casa sabor taco y taco, frijoles y frescas, and me gusta tacos. Selina R is best cashier out of all of them. The service is great that's why I come back every week. read more

Food was very good but portions are small and the salsa bar is limited. The beans and rice that you pay $$ are in 4 oz cups. Best beans I've had in the valley but for $3.25 the portion is too small. Atmosphere is meh. Fast food. read more

Honestly was excited to try this place because I found it online I went in with my boyfriend and we ordered our food when the lady asked for the name I said bee and my boyfriend said his name so I said just put bj or JB mind you I don't know what she put it as so they call for the order to be ready and my boyfriend goes to get the food but it's not all finished yet mind you they let him take the food watch him eat it and everything then the lady calls bee so I'm like is that the potato she said yes and the man cooking proceeds to say you need to pay for the tacos I said we payed already together he said no you took the wrong order you need to pay for those tacos like super unprofessional because one they never said anything and we ordered tacos to go then you expect me to pay for more tacos after you just watched him eat someone else's order and didn't say anything just because of that I don't think I'll return because that's super unprofessional read more

Chato's Tacos is a solid spot. The tacos are fantastic and the tacos dorados de papa are my favorite. The birria egg rolls are bomb and definitely worth getting. The only thing is the green sauce that comes with the tacos dorados tends to be pretty salty most of the time I get it. Overall still a great place and I'll keep coming back. read more

The food was crazy good! Best Mexican resteraunt I've bin here in Henderson and LV! The service was incredible, and the food came out fresh and fast. The pricing is well worth it and a lot cheaper than a few other mexican resteraunts in town that aren't even close in flavor to Chato Tacos! We ate inside, and the seating had lots of room. Me and my wife just ate here and I've never been more impressed... I usually go to Roberto's or don tortaco but this place blows them wayyyy out of the water. This place is seriously top tier, the Birria was juicy and tender, the carne asada melted in my mouth it was absolutely amazing. I have never felt the need to review any food place until I just ate this today. Everything was so delicious, smells great, tastes great. I'm never going anywhere else ever again! No pictures because we devoured the food so fast! read more

Maybe I have been unlucky the two times I have been and maybe all the 5stars are deserved. Went in the 2nd day they were open and went in today 10/06. Neither time was I able to try the fresh al pastor. First time I went they were cutting up the old pieces and put a fresh one out. I asked them to cut from the fresh for me and they did not. Went in today and they didn't even have one. I asked where the fresh one was and said "it's coming". So I said I wanted from the fresh and got "no, sorry"... ordered breakfast burritos and they had no sausage and I am pretty sure the bacon was packaged bacon bits. Also ordered a side of fries and they were about 3 minutes undercooked. Nice and limp and soggy. Who does that? They weren't busy. I was the only one there. Threw those away. First time we went I was told the carnitas were "freshly made by grandma in the back daily". After what I had that day, I have to say that probably wasn't the truth either. No where near. And that day they were out of green salsa. Always something. To leave on a positive note and justify at least 3 stars, the gringo tacos were very good. Got 2 carne asada and one pollo. They were very flavorful and a good portion. Thank goodness for that because the regular tacos weren't good either. Not sure if I can go back for "third times a charm". Hopefully if the hankering comes on, they are still around. But if they are struggling with having meats in stock, possibility they aren't. Give them a chance and try the gringo tacos. Maybe growing pains will go away. Or maybe you'll go and they'll actually have some fresh al pastor to cut fresh for you. read more

Found this taco shop in the area and haven't looked back! They serve tacos, burritos , quesa birria tacos as well. They definitely use good ingredients because you can taste it! Definitely a favorite go to for dinner or really anytime of the day! Customer service is great as well. read more

food is not good and they advertise butter in their baked potatoes but they stick this nasty margarine in there, the restaurant is so dirty!! All the tables are sticky and the floor is so gross!! The girl behind the register might be on the spectrum, over priced nasty food read more

Decided to try Chatos on Wednesday now back on Friday. Felt like I was in Mexico eating tacos off a cart. Fantastic tacos especially the Al Pastor, and the chicken was great too! Service is great. I like to refer this place as "that big orange building on the hill". They take reservations; call the restaurant directly to make yours. It can get busy during peak hours, so if you can't find a parking space in the parking lot, you can park on the street along Carnegie and walk over, which is what we did. We made our reservation at around 7:30pm and arrived on time, but we had to wait an extra 5-10 minutes for a table to open up. We got a table that had a great nighttime view of The Strip and other parts of the city. For drinks, I ordered a Raspberry Margarita on the rocks and my LTP ordered the Golden Road Mango Cart beer, a drink known to be very popular in other restaurants and bars these days. It did take a long while for both drinks to come out, but we passed the time by enjoying complimentary endless chips and dip. The dips were salsa and beans, but the salsa was incredibly spicy, so I stuck with the beans. Our food also took a while to come out - I think we waited about 10 minutes. A bowl of soup is offered with every meal. We shared a quesadilla appetizer (4), which was excellent and included a mix of sour cream and guacamole dip before moving on to the entrees. My eye caught the Torta (aka the Mexican sandwich) on the back of their menu, and I got this with grilled chicken breast as my choice of protein and fries on the side. The Torta was HUGE. It was really good and packed with sour cream and guacamole inside, but at the same time it was so big that I had to take the rest of it home with me. My LTP had the carne tacos, which were also huge and also had to take home with him. Service was a little slow, but the food and drinks were excellent. I also really enjoyed the view from our table.

We tried to go here today and it is all locked up :( same thing when it was El Generals tacos. Sad, we were really looking forward to it

Food is awesome and the environment is great. Selina is great!!! She was very helpful in explaining the menu. The Pata Loca was filling.
