Went here for the first time, went for Father's Day after church. Was trying to think what I wanted to eat, and some Mexican comfort food came to mind. Good Mexican for me means mid level, sit down, combo plates at a reasonable price. I'm not into upscale Mexican, Americanized or fusion. I knew locals liked this place so wanted to give it a try, since it's near our house and I drive by it all the time. So what do I mean by mid level? I'm talking solid 7-8 rated food in a comfortable, simple environment. Authentic. Happy to report everything was a solid 7-8 lol. Nothing amazing but totally satisfying and enjoyable. We all enjoyed our entrees, and we even all drank our soup, which I normally pass on at other spots. Usually it tastes like Lipton soup out of a packet, but theirs is more homemade feeling. And as we all know, any place that serves refried beans with the chips and salsa automatically gets a big bump up. If you know you know.. Add service, view and mariachi vibes... the 3.5 becomes a 4. Glad I was able to finally try this iconic spot in Henderson. Will definitely return in the future when craving some Mexican comfort food. read more

I would rate this 5 star if the caddilac margaritas were priced and sized correctly. (My only complaint) #6 on Menu has 1. Taco 1 Tostada and 1 enchilada. Very very excellent! My absolute favorite thing on the menu was the sopa de fideo. This brought back many amazing memories of my mother's cooking. The view of the strip from the lower level was gorgeous. I suspect the nighttime view is even better. I can tell this is definitely a locals favorite. I was surprised they even had a few table top slot games near the bar. Staff was epicly friendly and kind. The food came out quickly. One of the members of our party had the Chile Colorado. They said it was not as spicey as it should be. I had a bite and the meat was a little harder than expected but flavoring was nice. Plus, I have never had it anywhere else. Overall a nice little lunch. But yes, the caddilac needed grand marnier, not so much ice and less oranges inside. Will be back! read more

Lindo Michoacan - #6 - Mexican Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

I've driven by Lindo Michoacan in Henderson hundreds upon thousands of times, plus my boot camp gym is right across the street and I've never been inside until just recently. I like to refer this place as "that big orange building on the hill". They take reservations; call the restaurant directly to make yours. It can get busy during peak hours, so if you can't find a parking space in the parking lot, you can park on the street along Carnegie and walk over, which is what we did. We made our reservation at around 7:30pm and arrived on time, but we had to wait an extra 5-10 minutes for a table to open up. We got a table that had a great nighttime view of The Strip and other parts of the city. For drinks, I ordered a Raspberry Margarita on the rocks and my LTP ordered the Golden Road Mango Cart beer, a drink known to be very popular in other restaurants and bars these days. It did take a long while for both drinks to come out, but we passed the time by enjoying complimentary endless chips and dip. The dips were salsa and beans, but the salsa was incredibly spicy, so I stuck with the beans. Our food also took a while to come out - I think we waited about 10 minutes. A bowl of soup is offered with every meal. We shared a quesadilla appetizer (4), which was excellent and included a mix of sour cream and guacamole dip before moving on to the entrees. My eye caught the Torta (aka the Mexican sandwich) on the back of their menu, and I got this with grilled chicken breast as my choice of protein and fries on the side. The Torta was HUGE. It was really good and packed with sour cream and guacamole inside, but at the same time it was so big that I had to take the rest of it home with me. My LTP had the carne tacos, which were also huge and also had to take home with him. Service was a little slow, but the food and drinks were excellent. We stopped into Lindo Michoacán after hearing all the amazing stories about their food. As soon as you walk in, you can see the fresh corn and flour tortillas being made. The restaurant sits on top of a hill and has the most epic view of downtown Las Vegas! Our server brought out chips, salsa, and refried beans right away and the salsa was fresh and delicious! For an appetizer, we ordered the Queso Fundido, which was a blend of melted Monterrey Jack cheese and green chile strips. We also added the chorizo to it and OMG it was the star of the show! For dinner, we ordered a #3, which is a green pork and bean burrito, beef enchilada, and chicken taco. We also ordered a number #5, which is a green pork and guacamole burrito, cheese enchilada, and chicken taco. Each of the combination plates is also served with a bowl of Fideo. It was all so good! What a great venue to celebrate my grandsons birthday! The servers were so good about making it fun for all! Lindo Michoacan, a delicious Mexican restaurant with several locations in the valley. Stopped in for dinner here tonight and met up with an old family member (not old as in age, but old as in ex communicato through divorce). Had a nice little visit discussing her benefits of divorce and shared a wonderful meal to boot. Lindo is a vegas staple, the Desert Inn location is a favorite of mine. While I feel this location loses a little of the old time charm, the food and service is still pretty great. Had the carnitas aka Coca Cola tonight which is my go to. My wife had a chicken dish, and forgive me if I can't remember what it was called. The picture is included and it was delicious, but I don't recall the name. Both entrees were fantastic as were the unlimited chips and dips. The ambience is wonderful with the numerous birthday songs sang by the staff and the wonderful picturesque views of the valley out the window. You can't go wrong eating here as the food is about as authentic as you can get. And the service never disappoints. read more

Have eaten here a half dozen times. The past two times the food was mediocre. The previous time I thought was a one off so I went again last night. The salsa for the chips was watered down and had an off almost chemical taste. Needless to say we didn't eat anymore after the first two chips. When dinner came the food was cold and not fresh. It appeared the food was premade and when it was microwaved before serving, the reheating was insufficient and the food wasn't even room temperature. Same experience as the previous visit. Very displeased to say the least. Only saw my waiter twice, (Andres), once to take my order and then to pay the bill. Never bothered to check in to see how the food was. The restaurant was moderately busy but not slammed to the point where he couldn't bother to check in. The drinks were good and unfortunately that's the only positive thing I can say. After this back to back disappointing experience, I won't be returning. Don't take my word for it, come and experience the substandard food for yourself. We mainly came here for the Micheladas. The Micheladas? 5/5. Excellent, ice cold, good price at $9.75. Got some shrimp ceviche for a little appetizer with our drinks, and it was... fine. When making a reservation, I requested a table by the window, which I highly recommend. The restaurant told me it wasn't guaranteed but luckily we were seated in that section! The views cannot be beat, especially at sunset, as we were able to see The Strip come to life. Our server, Carlos, was upbeat and friendly and successfully upsold us on the cocktails! I've visited this restaurant several times and it's always busy. They bring you a complimentary cup of soup which is a nice touch! Their food is okay overall. This time I tried their chicken soup and although it tasted good, the pieces of chicken and vegetables were too large, I literally needed to cut them into smaller pieces before eating. Went to the one in Henderson and what a horrible experience we had salsa tasted like sewer, water shared with the girl behind the bar and she said ya people have been complaining but they served it to us anyway had to ask for drinks and then gambling machine didn't work went to cash out was told we had to wait for the gaming people to come to pay 20.00!!! Came here for a Birthday Dinner for my nephew. We had a reservation at 6pm, but our party got there early, and we asked if we could be seated sooner, and the accomodated us. Everyone was friendly, and food came out in a timely manner. Chips, Salsa, and Beans were served first. I ordered the Pescado al Ajillo. It was prepared with rice and beans and a generous amount of garlic, which was great. For the Birthday Boy, they did the song with the big sombrero, which was great. That is always enjoyable and festive, and a great treat for the birthday celebrant. They brought out Churros with whipped cream, and the deep-fried ice cream was ordered. Came for my wife's birthday with her mom, made reservations so we were seated pretty quick. The interior is unique to day the least. Lots to look at around the dining room, it is very loud, makes it difficult to have a conversation at a normal volume level. As far as food goes, they provide chips, salsa and bean dip complimentary. The salsa has a nice kick. Wife ordered flautas and enjoyed them. I ordered the Chile Verde and was very disappointed. Beans and rice on the plate were fine, but the Chile Verde itself was pretty bland. I put a lot of weight on the quality of a Mexican restaurant based on how well they do with Chile Verde because it is so easy to get right and at the same time so easy to get wrong. The right parts of this one, the corn tortillas were house made, the pork itself was tender. The wrong part, the pork really didnt have much flavor, the Verde sauce had a few moments of not bad, but overall I wouldn't have it again. Super bummed that it turned out pretty meh... Not a drinker so can't comment on the adult beverages other than to say they have a plethora of options, and folks seemed to enjoy them who were sitting near us. Will end up giving them another try next time we are in the area, hoping next visit makes up for this lackluster one. read more

Went here with my brother's fam while in Vegas. It was a solid option but nothing amazing food wise. The classic margarita on the rocks however was very good. I did a carne asada and cheese enchilada combo. All was just okay. Enchilada sauce wasn't great. We got homemade guac at table, which is cool, but so much tomatoes in it. Terrible experience. Was there for lunch, celebrating a family members milestone..and it took forever from start to finish. I got skipped over during the drink orders. We order our food, takes FOREVER to get out. No, we weren't the only ones celebrating something that day. It's a Sunday there was a lot going on so I give them that. However, for our party to wait as long as we did for food and for the food to finally come out and to be given the incorrect order for myself turns out it was my dad's. No idea when my food was coming out at that point I wanted it removed from the bill it shows up. My dad's food was overly saturated in garlic. My food was less than ideal and overcooked. I made no scene at the request of my sister, but it was an overall terrible experience. I ordered a second drink and never got it and had to make sure it was never added to the bill. And my mom had a shawl that day that they claim was not there when we left. We have a photo with her wearing it and multiple calls. Everyone's telling us there is no shawl. Would never recommend this location ever to anyone. By the way, they gave me my dad's food and couldn't confirm what style shrimp it was. I had to taste it which is why I know it was bad. read more

We received a recommendation to check out London Michoacán for their bar and food at an inexpensive price. So we added it to our trip list. Located off the strip in the suburbs was a plus. Easy parking. As we entered, it was a very large and vibrant restaurant and bar. We were quickly welcomed and seated quickly at a table by the window with a view of downtown ("the strip") in the distance. Overall the service was good. The waiter answered questions about the menu and made recommendations as we decided on our order. The food: we were immediately served a bowl of tortilla chips (fresh), spicy salsa and a small bowl of refried beans. We were then surprised to be served a small bowl of soup (had a tomato broth base) with very small, slim noodles. I didn't eat much of it as I already knew my order would be more than I could eat. I ordered the fajitas Cameron. The serving looked good as it was placed in front of me with the traditional sizzling platter and the side plate of beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. It appeared to be a large portion. The fajitas turned out to be mostly bell peppers (a variety of colors) and grilled onions, but a very small serving of shrimp in the overall dish. Oh, it was also served with two homemade flour tortillas. While good, there wasn't a depth of flavor; I was expecting more depth in the flavor profile as it was bland. My husband ordered the full fried fish. He had a similar experience. Large portion. Nice presentation, but the food itself lacked a distinctive full flavor profile that awakens your taste buds. We also both had the sangria. The result, similar experience of lacking an enticing flavor profile. Decent, but nothing special. The meals were more than I expected. The dishes ran between $25-30 per plate for Mexican food. I enjoyed our meal, but it wasn't anything special. I wouldn't include it on our recommendation list for friends or go back. The food is very basic, not bad but not mind blowing either. The free soup is not that good (like a small cup of saltwater). The view though is 5-Stars, get a seat by the window. This is a super popular Mexican restaurant in town with multiple locations. I enjoy coming to this one because it sits up on the hill in Henderson and has a great view of the whole city including the strip. The restaurant is very large and separated into two rooms. One is designed with a classic Mexican theme and the second room is surrounded by windows so you get a great view of the strip. The menu is very large and extensive. The food is fine. I wouldn't say it's great but it's just okay. I do love the chips, salsa, and refried beans that they serve as soon as you sit down. They do a great tableside guac and I love their queso fundido. The margaritas are also really good. Overall, I think this is a better place to come for apps and drinks. read more

Before you even walk in you are greeted by the wonderful view overlooking the city since the restaurant is on a hill. You walk in and to your left you can watch hand made tortillas being made as you are greeted. Across the entrance they have a cool little bar, if you plan to not eat and just enjoy some Margaritas, tequila, or a Michelada. It was my first time here and the menu was a little overwhelming, everything sounded good. So I asked the waiter for his go to plate. The food (and the michelada) did not disappoint. I ended up ordering the Buey a Cilantro and boy did that hit the spot. The camarones were spicy and flavorful just like you would expect them to be. Without a doubt, one of the least seasoned and blandest meals I've ever had. I thought the Gorditos were going to be like flautas or taquitos and it turned out to be a giant burrito cut into 3? And filled with tasteless shrimp slop with dumps of cheese on top. So bizarre lol. Nachos picture does not have carne asada. They initially forgot to put it on it when I snapped that photo but now I regret getting it. When I saw it for the first time I swear they brought out ground beef lol. Biting it gave no flavor. No salt, pepper, citrus...nada. The flan was awesome...creamy and the custard was high quality. No clue how the dessert was so good and everything was a bummer. Across the country Mexican restaurants that blend American capitalism and glimpses of Mexican culture have thrived since the late 20th Century; El Torrito, On the Border, ChiChis, and the like. Lindo was sizing up quite similarly, warranting an average 3 rating, meeting all the regular check boxes of Margarita specials, combination platters, good parking, and festive decor. However, three factors drove this review to a 5 and two factors made it a 4. The seats beyond the bar have an amazing view overlooking nearly all of metro Vegas. The food was fast and good. The variety of foods beyond the typical platters was impressive. The hostess stand was attentive and kept the place running well. The servers seemed over worked. They had little time to spend with the smaller tables while understandably spending what time they did have with bigger tables. But the real downfall was the volume of music. I left with a headache. Good if you are in a large party and ready to party. Not so great if on a date. read more

It's been a couple years since my last visit and glad i went for dinner. My cousin has never been to any of the Lindo Michoacán's and he enjoyed his first visit. It was busy on a Friday night but we didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the Camarones Abuelito Timo. It is bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese and peppers. The Timo sauce is tangy, and is perfect with it. The meal comes with Fideo soup, rice, beans, and tortillas. My cousin got the Camarones Con Rajas y Crema Estio Stephanie. He really liked his dish, which is shrimp in a cream sauce. The place definitely has a vibrant atmosphere with good service and as always, great views. read more

Chips, salsa, and water hit the table faster than I could say "¡Hola!" -- and just like that, Walter appeared, our friendly and efficient waiter for the afternoon. We'd been here once before and remembered it being loud enough to double as a concert venue. Still noisy this time, but thankfully not as crowded, so we could actually hear ourselves chew. Service was prompt -- our order was taken quickly, and a complimentary bowl of fideo soup arrived soon after. Nice touch. My wife went with the Carne Asada tacos (with rice and beans), and I had the shrimp tacos (also with rice and beans). No complaints -- everything hit the spot. A solid, satisfying late lunch. Only two very minor things: I wish the place was just a tad quieter (but hey, it is lively), and I had to go on a brief expedition to find Walter when my wife's extra pico de gallo didn't show. Once reminded, though, he was right on it -- pico delivered, peace restored. Bottom line: Great food, great service, slightly loud atmosphere. Would definitely come back... maybe just not during rush hour if I'm hoping for quiet conversation. read more

Visited on Sunday, November 9th, around 11:15 am. The restaurant had a nice view, and we were seated by the window. There were already several tables around us when we arrived, so it seemed like a normal busy Sunday lunch. We ordered, fajita de camaron, kid's chicken enchilada, and another pork fajita. Chips and salsa came out quickly, along with a bean dip. The salsa was pretty spicy - not for kids, but fine if you like heat. The food runner did a good job keeping our chips and bean dip refilled, which was probably the only good part of this visit. Then everything went downhill. When our food arrived, my shrimp fajitas came out completely RAW!! Not undercooked - raw. You could literally see the translucent shrimp. That is completely unacceptable at any restaurant. I told the food runner right away, and they took the plate back. About 15 minutes later, they returned it with "cooked" shrimp, but by that time, I had completely lost my appetite. We also tried the pork fajitas while waiting for the raw shrimp to be cooked, but even those were dry and had a strange, old smell and taste. It honestly made us worry about how fresh anything was. We even told our kid to stop eating, just to be safe, and decided we'd grab lunch somewhere else afterward. What made this experience worse was the total lack of responsibility. No one came to apologize or check on us after serving raw shrimp. Neither the server nor the manager weren't aware of to question anything - not when the plate was taken back, not when it was returned, and not afterward. It's shocking that something this serious didn't get any attention. When someone finally came over much later just to ask if we were okay or wanted a to-go box, we simply said everything was fine and that we didn't need one - we just didn't even want to talk about it at that point.. There were a few birthday celebrations going on, which might make it a fun place for parties, but that doesn't excuse serving RAW seafood and completely ignoring it. The fact that the restaurant didn't seem to care at all is what really ruined it for us. It's sad because the place looked nice, but after being served raw shrimp and getting zero follow-up, it's SAD, but we'll never be coming back. read more
