I would absolutely 100 and 10 percent not recommend chat a while restaurant in Bath. I took a one bite of steak which I'm not allergic to spit it out and by the time I got it out of my mouth I was already starting to have a reaction. It tasted rotten and a customer dining next to us between later found out was the owner kept insisting it was fine and that we just didn't want to pay which damn right I don't want to pay $81 for a steak that's making me so I can't breathe. He was highly rude and would offer no resolution to the issue and kept saying he would eat that steak which when your 500lb of course you would.

Was very pleasantly surprised at how great this restaurant is! On a cute street with ample parking. The food came out quick and portions were large. The salad was fresh and delicious! Will definitely come back soon

What a fantastic little spot for lunch! We met my parents here and were pleasantly surprised by this eatery on the Main Street in Bath. The server was prompt and knowledgeable. We began with a coupe tasty apps, followed by a filling Santa Fe Salad and Rachel sandwich. The Peach Bourbon Cheesecake for dessert was a perfect finisher. It was a nice spot to sit for "a-whyle" and do a bit of computer work after lunch.

In Bath, NY, I'd say there's no better breakfast than at Chat-A-Whyle. Those potatoes??? Are to die for!!!

I wish I could choose "Very Good" (4.5) vs. "Good" (4.0) but I'd be lying to you if I gave this place a full 5-Star "Great" rating. Read on to learn why. ** MENU ** Whether breakfast or lunch, what I've seen on offer has always been unique, interesting and flavorful. The breakfast potatoes, as cooked by Michelle, are simply TO DIE FOR. The coffee's great, too: rich tasting but smooth. As for desserts, they look great. (Haven't taken the plunge yet.) ** SERVICE & VIBE ** Both table service and the general vibe here are great. I'm impressed by both! Chat-A-Whyle's clearly a local place but appeals to a wider audience than that. Women like me appreciate, too, that the multi-stall restroom is cute, clean and well stocked without being fussy or overdone. ** APPEARANCES ** The exterior's a little sad looking and clearly out of sync with the restaurant's interior. Even simply painting a bit of trim would make it look more inviting and "alive." I bet regulars would step in and lend a hand. Heck, even I'd be willing to lend a hand. The place has that kind of charm! IN BAD TASTE? On my first visit, I mentioned that the "Open" sign is small and barely visible. I then pointed to a "Welcome" sign propped up on the interior and suggested similar sizing. Someone who seemed to be an owner screwed up his face, got defensive and explained it away. (Uh, do you want business?)

Really upgraded since my last visit several years ago. Charming, wide ranging menu and it looked pretty busy. The vegetable beef soup was yummy and homemade and the beef topped tator tots rocked. We were stuffed but the deserts looked epic.

    Homemade rye. Vege omelet.

Best food I've had since moving here in three years! Eric had the Salmon eggs benedict and I had the Korean chicken and waffle. The coffee is ground by the cup and local coffee company in Canandaigua. Mmmmm... It was an hour drive but worth every mile! The owner was fantastic! Great energy and very friendly. Super quick service! The charming historic school house is charming in every way! Limited seating so best to come on a weekday. They have outdoor seating in the spring through fall. They had a different setup for the festival so I ordered at their order window and took the pastry to go. I got the grape poptart, which was delicious. They had music out front and a large open space where some people were hanging out. The entire town was very busy for the festival, but we were able to find parking near the cafe. This was a cool experience, but I'd love to visit again when the Naples grape festival isn't happening.

The menu means towards middle-American classics: turkey sandwiches, meatloaf, pork chops, etc. The twist? There's a maple-syrup theme snuck in wherever it can go. The service is skilled and efficient, the people-watching unparalleled, and the portions are enormous for the listed price. Figure two meals for the listed price, and it seems a better deal! Our meal started out with side salad with vinaigrette, dinner rolls, mini muffins and butter. Next came our turkey dinner that included both dark and white meat, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, carrots & cranberry sauce. The portions are extra large & my to go container looked like I didn't touch my meal. Then came dessert and as full as I was I still had to try some. It was warm apple pie that was excellent! Our service was great, water glasses were full & there was a coffee carafe on the table. The waitress came around with decaf coffee and to see if there was anything else someone needed to drink. The place is cute and family friendly. You enter through a long driveway and pass a pond that has carved bear statue's fishing before reaching the ample parking lot. Cute little gift shop at the front of the restaurant , I always get syrup & have previously bought their syrup and pancake gift sets for presents.
