Stopped here today, one of the few restaurants open on a Tuesday. Upon walking in the owner seemed bothered by our presence. After ordering and sitting down, the first table was covered with crumbs, that was the first indication of what was to come. When our food was served the silverware was dirty and so was our glassware, appeared to be something floating in the water. My wife refused to touch her sandwich and we agreed to leave. I seldom leave a review and we like to support small businesses but a clean and inviting environment is a must. read more

The best salad I've had. Include chicken. The tomatos, cucumbers and pieces of apple were diced over greens, with delicious dressing (assuming Greek). I do not like most salad dressings. This I could drink. Add chicken. Very flavorful spices. Toasted pita topped it off just right. The owner was courteous. My dog sat with us on the porch as we people watched drinking ice tea. Found this great little spot when taking our daughter to her first year at Keuka College last week. Very eclectic, different artwork you can look at while you're waiting for your order and also purchase. The coffee drinks were very good. We plan to go back to try some breakfast items next time we are in town. I did notice that many of the plants on the cute patio out front were dead and definitely could use some sprucing up. But we will go back. read more

Lovely atmosphere and the food was out of this world! Staff accommodated my request for gluten free by switching lettuce for bread. I had the tuna sandwich. Only reason not 5 stars was long wait for food as that wasn't obvious to me and I was very hungry. All cooked from scratch to order and was completely worth the wait. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews like this, but I really would advise that you do not go here. I am not sure how this place passes any health inspections. The restaurant was incredibly dirty. The tables were covered in crumbs, there were visible spider webs and the bathroom was extremely messy with a toilette full of urine. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and when I received it, I noticed a green residue mixed within the cream cheese. The display of muffins on the counter was filled with fruit flies. On top of all of that, the food was overpriced and the service was extremely slow. I think only one person is running the entire show. I was so grossed out and could not wait to leave. read more

This is a great find! We ended up coming here after our first option was closed. The owner is nice and plays some nice tunes. Food does take some time so don't come if you're in a hurry. Besides that food was super healthy and flavorful, I'm no expert in Israeli food but this feels really comforting and homely. read more

Hours are not accurate. Hours posted on the door states open at 8.30 daily. Went yesterday at 8.45. Place was locked up. Tried again this morning at 9am. Closed. Went back around 11am and it was open. Ordered a iced chai. It's milk with cinnamon. Tastes delicious. Imagine the leftover milk after eating a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal, but definitely not a chai. I see what the reviews mean about the poor service. If I hadn't have read that service is slow and was ready to expect it then it would have been off putting. It looks like once an order is taken, that order is prepared (at least drink wise) and delivered to the customer before the next drink it made. Would I come back? Probably. Not sure if they'd be open for business at the time that I would like to go though read more

What a wonderful surprise! We cycle the Keuka Lake loop and found Aroma. This is an excellent place to eat. A varied menu, artistic setting and decor. We just finished a roasted veggie and falafel wrap. Perfect. Rich. Delicious. And an apple cider cookie to jazz us for the next 30 miles. Highly recommend. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday morning several weeks ago. The menu is very large and there were several things my family of 4 was interested in. After observing a woman in line ahead of us order and the borderline rude response she got from the woman that I believe is the owner, we honestly should have left. Even though my 25 year old daughter indicated that there were 4 of us ordering, after each one she seemed shocked that we were not done ordering. It was very strange. My daughters each just got a bagel and iced beverage. My husband ordered the egg brickah (scrambled eggs and veggies in a tortilla) and I ordered a veggie omelet. After about 10 minutes the drinks started to come out one by one. (By the way...the woman who ordered before us was still waiting for her drink!) The bagels came out several minutes later. Then the young woman working there left with reusable grocery bags and came back a few minutes later. I'm pretty sure she had to go get ingredients for our meal because about 10 minutes after her return we received our food! The iced chai was undrinkable. It tasted like water with a little bit of spice in it. The iced coffees and iced tea were okay. The bagels were fine. The egg dishes were good, but overpriced for what they were. We plan to be back in the area next summer and will not be returning. read more

Lots of people on here are complaining about the wait times and I can see why. I was so happy to see that this gem survived the pandemic. It's the best falafel and hummus I've ever had! The accompanying salad was full of fresh fruit and just-picked mint. The outstanding hummus came with warm, delicious pita bread. The balls of falafel were perfectly spiced, and I had to fight to keep them from being stolen right off my plate by my sister. Have always had great experiences everywhere we have visited over the years in Hammondsport but this one was the exception. Wife wanted a coffee and the name of the place was intriguing. Walked in and found the place very disheveled and dirty. No organization. Went to order and lady taking order was as pleasant as a dead fish. Steak sandwich took forever and was a disaster. Had 5 thinly sliced sweet potato pieces fried in oil on the side. Sandwich was on a focaccia type bread which was all that kept it from being a soggy mess. Meat (steak?) was dry and tough, onions and peppers were so greasy that all the oil had gotten on plate under sandwich making it almost impossible to eat as a sandwich. Also, I ordered an Americano hot which is one shot espresso with 3 or 4 parts hot water. Received it in an 8 oz cup filled almost to top so believe it was 1 shot plus 5 or 6 parts hot water. Very weak and watered down. Wife's latte wasn't very good either. Overall, I would give this place a 1. Very surprised the doors are still open. read more

This restaurant has wonderfully delicious food. I had the chicken sandwich but asked to have it served in a wrap. The spices were magic. It wasn't hot spicy, just really interesting. I don't like to talk badly about small businesses but I was just so shocked by my experience here. I was visiting the area from nyc and being part Israeli myself, I was happy to find this local Israeli cuisine establishment. My first encounter with the owner: I asked her for the WiFi because I had no service whatsoever in the area and she looked at me with disgust for even asking and told me she can't help me. Ok fine maybe she's having a bad day I thought. My family and I then order our drinks and food. I ordered lemonade and shakshuka. My family all got their drinks within 10 min, but i was waiting for my lemonade for over 40 mins. I asked her twice (politely) why it was taking so long and she dismissed me saying she's busy. I come back the third time and am dismissed again. At this point I'm actually feeling disrespected and frustrated so I give her a whole spiel on how this is not the right way to treat customers who are paying her. It's really not that hard to make lemonade. A few minutes later, she storms to my table, slams the lemonade down and throws the straw. Then the food comes. Like I mentioned, I am Israeli and so is she. So I know what shakshuka should be like. What's on my plate instead is a stew of potatoes and onions lightly covered in marinara sauce with one sad looking cooked egg on top. If you know what shakshuka is then you know this was not that. I'm mildly allergic to potatoes (shakshuka is not supposed to have potatoes, so this was a misrepresentation and shouldn't be labeled as such) but at this point I was like whatever I'll let it go bc I used up all my energy arguing about the lemonade. I understand being a small business owner is difficult. But it should be an implied thing that you treat a paying customer with decency, and don't label your food as something it isn't. We had the pleasure of getting their decorative artisan focaccia bread for our wedding that she hand made and it was an absolute hit with all of our guests. I was very excited to check out Aroma Coffee Art Gallery. Espresso bar & coffee tasting, a menu with fresh local ingredients, an art gallery and the "bicyclist headquarters". I found none of this. I was greeted by a gruff "Hi what do you want?" I replied that I came in for some coffee and I was pointed to 4 carafes and told that the one closest to me has the "fresh" coffee. I attempted to make short talk and complimented her on the building, to which I received a brisk "Thanks that's $1.73". The coffee was terrible - I didn't even know it was possible to make Gimme! coffee not taste amazing.. I have a feeling this was some Folger's thrown into a carafe with a Gimme! sticker slapped on the front. While there I noticed a small, one room gallery of sorts - mostly some odds and ends stuck on a couple built-in shelves. There were also what appeared to be some well aged baked goods on display. Very disappointing! A great business idea and beautiful location - but what a let down! I will definitely choose Dunkin Donuts over the unfriendly service and terrible coffee this place had to offer! read more

We came here after a long afternoon of walking the shops to relax and unwind with a cup of coffee. The price and selection was good. However, I don't think they are making any of the specialty drinks by hand - they just have a machine that does it, and it tasted like something you would get out of a machine in a hospital or office. Not very good. When I went up to get my coffee (I ordered a mocha for $3.71), it was sitting on the counter with the lid off, so I put the lid and a cardboard holder on it and took it to my seat. As I sat down, I took a small sip (a tester type sip, not a gulp at all) and I was absolutely scalded. I have never ever sipped coffee that hot; it seemed to be at boiling point. I took the lid off and let it cool on the table for a few minutes, then tried again, but it was still pouring steam off, and was impossible to drink. As I sat there, I realized that my mouth hurt so badly on the roof behind my teeth and my tongue that I would be unable to drink anything warm for quite a while. I debated for about 10 minutes, but my husband decided he would just ask for our money back, since it was still not cool and I was hurting too much to drink it. Now, I have to clarify: I go out to cafes for coffee ALL the time. As in, almost every single day. I have honestly never received a drink this hot before. I could have seriously injured myself if I had taken a large gulp. But that is NOT why I am giving this review. All we wanted was to return it, and if the owner had been sympathetic and kind and actually treated us with respect, I would have been fine with the incident, and there would be no bad review. The owner was so incredibly rude. Her first response was "Coffee is supposed to be hot," with the nastiest tone, right out of the gate. Even though I was being very friendly. Yes, I explained, but this was the hottest scald I'd ever experienced, and I just can't drink it anymore now. I was not rude. I was not upset about my injury (which I suppose I could have been) - I just didn't want the drink anymore because it was undrinkable. At this point it had been about 15 minutes and steam was STILL pouring off the cup. Then she said: "Just put ice cubes in it." I said I didn't want to put ice cubes in it, because it would water down the coffee, and anyway I could not drink it anymore because my mouth was injured. I agree with other reviewers on here that commented on how RUDE she is. It was palpable. She had no care or concern for me - she treated me awfully even though we had just met and I was being friendly and just asking for my money back. I wasn't asking for anything else - or even giving her a hard time about the coffee being dangerously hot. She continued railing on for 5-10 minutes about how coffee is supposed to be hot. I kept telling her I know that, but this is exceptionally hot, and I just can't drink it now. She kept saying there was nothing wrong with the coffee, and that it comes out of the machine very hot. Then she says: "Why should I give you the money back?" I said because you made it, and I have not been able to drink any of it. She was loud, rude, and confrontational. She stood there for a long time refusing to do anything for us, and then finally gave us the $3 back, but continued to be surprisingly hostile. I really don't know how she gets customers like this? What a bad experience. We are here to vacation and unwind, and we left with an awful taste in our mouth and having to deal with aggressive hostility from someone who is running something that looks like its supposed to be a friendly, happy coffee shop. I was told there was an open network I could use. After paying and receiving my order I attempted to connect and there were only secured networks, the woman who told me there was WiFi then refused to share the password. When I asked if she could point me in the direction of another cafe to do work she refused to help and was rude. To top it off she gave me the wrong drink. read more
