We chose this bakery for breakfast on our first morning in town. The affable Vern took our orders of cheese Danish. Once Vern set them down on our table we realized the folly of our ways so we asked him to package one for the next day's breakfast. It proved to be fresh and delicious. On the next day I returned and purchased a coffee for my wife which she enjoyed along with 1/2 of the remaining Danish though it obviously was not as fresh as the one the day prior. Inexplicably the price of coffee this day was $4 versus $3 the day prior.

I never leave reviews but Vern's has amazing pastries and is so friendly!! I wish we were going to be in Keuka longer so we could go again!

Vern's was highly recommended by the front desk of the hotel we stayed at. Holy smokes. Get the croissants! You won't regret it!

The apple brie pastry was perfection with beautifully layered dough and just the right amount of apple.

But after…read moretrying this bakery on the penultimate day of a vacation, we had to come back to stock up on our final day. We collectively tried the olive ciabatta, three kinds of croissants, a flatbread, an epi bread, and maybe a couple of other things I am forgetting. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. I love the vibe of the place, I love the logo they stamp on their bags, I love that they threw in an extra pastry because we bought so much on that last day, and I love the location just across from the river. (First-time visitors should note that you enter the bakery from the back of the building that faces Water St.) Perhaps the strongest endorsement came from my partner's 14-year-old son, who gave the almond croissant a 10/10. When I asked him to rate the almond croissant that he loves from a bakery local to us, he gave it an 8.5/10. Follow-up questioning revealed that the chocolate croissants from the two bakeries merited a 9.5 and 8, respectively. Oh, and if you call earlier in the day they will hold things for you if you won't be able to make it in until later in the day.

Hidden gem!…read more Delicious pastries! Super friendly and nice owner! Inside smells amazing! We tried the chocolate croissant and the Bostock (brioche w almond topping and strawberries). Both were great and would happily eat either again! The chooclate croissant had a soft chocolate filling as opposed to a harder chocolate. I liked the bostock better but both were yummy. A small hole in the wall by a river. We ate our pastries on a swing across the river. Everyone in the area is super friendly. Good vibes and good pastries.

We sat outside with our dog in the grassy area with picnic tables. We went in to order and the line moved quickly. The entire staff was so friendly and organized. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with an iced mocha, and my daughter had the cinnamon roll with a coffee as well. (Hazelnut and Caramel). There was also a solo musician singing and playing guitar on the lawn, which made for a perfect ambiance. I highly recommend stopping in if you're ever in the area.

Best food I've had since moving here in three years! Eric had the Salmon eggs benedict and I had the Korean chicken and waffle.
