We stopped into the Park Inn for dinner and started with the focaccia bread, saving half to enjoy alongside our entrées. For dinner, we shared the Panko-Roasted Cod and the Mushroom Risotto, both of which were delicious and beautifully prepared. The Thyme Bourbon cocktail was especially memorable--unique, flavorful, and so good that I had to order a second glass. To finish the evening, we shared a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and attractively presented. Great small plates to share and if you are a foodie this has to be a local destination. Dragons Tongue beans were very good, don't be afraid of the spice as was the focaccia. Its a great place to stretch your palate. I also appreciated the decor since I think the tin ceiling may have been original. Wanted to love this place after 2 recommendations from locals and while the food we had was good the service was terrible. We stood at the bar for 25 minutes before getting acknowledged and then it took 45 minutes to get our apps. We wanted to order entrees but could not wait another 45 minutes or more for entrees so we left and ate at another location. Poor bartender was completely overwhelmed and could not keep up with bar services and table services. Won't give lower stars cause the devil eggs and bread we had was good but yea can't have such long wait times to be acknowledged. Bread isn't offered on tables or even an option to order. We ordered two filets with the potatoes, spinach, mushrooms vegetables, and the shrimp and risotto. My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend away and stayed and dined at the Park Inn. We were both extremely impressed and plan to return soon. We stayed in room 5, which was so charming, comfortable & made us feel so relaxed. The attention to detail at this inn was incredibly impressive. While above the restaurant, it was still quiet. We passed other guests while in the hallway getting coffee, but we all had lots of privacy and quiet and it exceeded our expectations. Let's talk about dinner. The Park Inn is stunning, rustic, and had such warmth to it. It was perfect for a belated anniversary dinner celebration. The service was stellar, the food was decadent. Chef Dan Eaton has crafted such a special menu and everything was perfect -- from the drinks and appetizers to my filet mignon and my husband's venison Wellington. I also devoured the carrot cake. My mom and I have been wanting to try this place for so long. During the pandemic we would get take out from here. But sitting in their cozy dining room on a cold winters night was gorgeous. The service was amazing and very helpful as we sat by the fire and tasted some of the best wine of Keuka Lake. We both started with salads that were really something to brag about in their own. Lots of vegetables that they grew in their own farm. Then we got the shrimp agnolotti (which is kind of like a ravioli they said) with sweet potato filling and the steak with mashed potatoes and back Brussels Sprouts. Can't wait to come back. A wonderful dining experience! A beautiful inn with an ambient setting top of the line servers and a creative fantastic menu. They have their own farm so the ingredients were spectacular. We had the fall salad - filled with crispy apple slices, sharp cheddar and pistachios. The tastes were enhanced with apple cider vinaigrette ! I had the steel head trout with root vegetables. The tastes were so complimentary it was delicious. My husband had the gnocchi - freshly made I may add - with butternut squash, sage, parm. Geez it was good. Portions were perfect and the prices will surprise you. A lot of value for such creative dishes and wonderful flavors. Finally we split the carrot cake with pineapple sorbet - once again a chef who really knows how to put things together in a way that surprises and delights at the same time. Great ambiance in the tent; we had perfect weather. We enjoyed the music soundtrack and the potted plants. Service could have been better. Waiter is very friendly and helpful but forgetful and needs to glance towards our table more often; we had trouble getting his attention. The best items I ate were the dessert and dessert wine. I recommend the LBV Porto, Sandeman. I wish the menu would have said that it's a ruby port. Luckily, it was, since I dislike tawny port. My favorite dish was the fresh (blue)berries with slivered almonds, almond pound cake and coconut cream. A creative and delicious combination; I licked the plate clean. This dessert was large enough for me to take half of it home. Chef is good, but I feel that the menu needs to be more descriptive. Both dishes I ordered were not what I was expecting. I ordered squash blossoms and didn't know they were fried. Nor was I expecting the ricotta to be melted. This dish is delicious and I finished it, with my husband's help, but I try to eat light and never order anything fried. The beets in the beet salad are roasted, as the menu states, but they are also marinated in vinegar, and it wasn't a sweet and sour vinaigrette, which I might have liked. Facing the charming central square in the lakeside village of Hammondsport is the beautiful Park Inn, both an accommodation and restaurant serving farm-to-table New American meals. In 2018, it re-opened after a complete renovation and revamping. Park Inn offers five rooms on the second level, four of which are suites with sitting areas, each with unique layouts and interior design, much like a bed and breakfast. The rooms possess a charming rustic style of decor, with dark wood cabinets and accents paired with soothing neutral walls and furniture. Less obvious is how fully modernized the inn is, with strong wi-fi signals throughout, plenty of outlets, and contemporary glass showers with strong water pressure. The rooms are fully functional and spotlessly clean, but also atmospheric and cozy. The beds are outrageously plush, and make a convincing argument to sleep late. The rooms have plenty of amenities, including C.O. Bigelow bath products, and robe and slippers. Keys are accessible from a coded lockbox at the street level door, with one key for that door and one for the room, and can be dropped off in a letterbox by the door when checking out. The innkeeper, Marie, who comes on-site for part of each day, is warm and welcoming. On the street level of the building is the Park Inn restaurant. Because of the pandemic, it was only opened Thursday to Sunday in the summer/fall of 2020. There was seating in the handsome dining rooms indoors, tables spaced apart, and in the expansive street outside (the street was closed to car traffic both times I visited in July and September). The service was friendly and the menu, frequently changing and sourced from local farms, was mostly delicious and a standout in the region. Some of the best dishes had at two separate dinners were richly flavorful eggplant parmesan, housemade sausage, and tender, sweet roasted scallops. Plenty of local wines can be ordered by the bottle or glass to pair, as well as an excellent list of local beers. Park Inn is unquestionably a regional destination for both accommodation and dining. Such superior customer service and high quality rooms make for a great base from which to explore the Keuka and Seneca Lake wine and beer trails. The inn itself is centrally located in the village, right by most restaurants, shops, and a supermarket, and within a 10 minute stroll from the peaceful Keuka Lake waterfront. We recently had dinner at Park Inn after a friend recommended we try it. The service was very slow, our server was good, but maybe they were short staffed . It took a while for our dinners to be served and I have to say they were very good. But surprising, there was no bread or a small dinner salad to accompany the dinner. And for the price, we thought at least one would be included. The restaurant was nice, and had a casually dressed clientele. read more

We started with apps - warm Brie with rhubarb compote and crostini, deviled eggs with bacon and pickled ramps, and chicken liver mousse with crostini and toppings. Everyone loved their entrees - mine was perfectly cooked filet minion with roasted potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms and blue cheese fondue. The wine was some of the best of the Finger Lakes without a ridiculous markup. All in all, it was fantastic. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not accessible and one member of our party struggled with the tall steps which means we probably won't be back. The Park Inn is located in the cozy lakeside town of Hammondsport. It works in collaboration with Glen Scott Farm to provide farm fresh products when it can. We secured a reservation for 8:00pm upon calling them when the website listed a tables for 8:45pm or 9pm. Upon arrival we noticed quite a few tables vacant. This is a similar situation we had at another local restaurant. Anybody have a similar experience with Fingerlakes restaurants telling you their reservations are booked only to arrive to a bunch of empty tables? Maybe it's staffing? Cancellations? limited capacity? I'd like to know more about issue. But on to the restaurant.... Location is ideal, in the heart of the tiny town. And Decor is fitting, exposed beams, large bar counter, looked like a gas fireplace used in the colder months. Food ordered: Fried Cauliflower: corn meal coated, delicately fried pile of white cauliflower with a delicious house made remoulade sauce. Can convert any non cauliflower person into one. (ie: wife) Squash Blossoms: 3 crispy squash blossoms that burst ricotta when you take a fork to them. Sat on a bed of sautéed squash and shaved Parmesan cheese. Not a heavy dish, actually refreshing and satisfying. Shrimp and Scallops: both perfectly cooked and sat on top of a risotto which included vegetables (bell pepp/squash/tomato/corn). Don't be discouraged from receiving only 2 shrimp and 2 scallops, the risotto makes it up to be a quite filling dish. One of the best bites of the meal. Fish Cakes: 3 perfectly seared cakes. Extremely balanced flavor, paired with a bed of salad greens and farm fresh tomatoes. The sauce that laid below the cakes, was a mustard seed/Mayo/aioli combination (the cakes didn't even need they were just that good) made the dish even more incredibly than it already was. Beignets: Pillowy, light dusted with powdered sugar, served with a tangy not overly sweet raspberry sauce. Light dessert not oily or dense in anyway. *All desserts are house made as the menu indicated, there were 6 other to choose from which made it difficult but we were happy with our choice. If you ever find yourself within 30 minutes of this restaurant, make the drive. We did, 5 star reviews are tough but this place definitely is. Bonus, you can even stay next door at their residences. Really really great spot! I've been coming here since I was a kid and even worked in the sister restaurant for years. The revamp/remodel is amazing - they've turned it from town bar to a cozy date spot that is still family friendly. Over the last 2 years, I've dined here, gotten take out, sat at the bar and sat outside A LOT. This year however was the best service I ever had the staff is so friendly, manager is kind and chatty and the bartenders take good care of you. Mark was my server for the last couple of times and he is just lovely. He's attentive and welcoming. My favorite dishes are always the bread salad (all of their salads are great, they switch them up seasonally), the Ploughman's board, burger, fish fry and salmon. Four of us dining at this lovely establishment on a cold snowy evening. What a pleasant surprise! We were seated near the fireplace which kept us toasty warm and provided ambience aplenty. We started with the baked Chaseholm Farm Camembert Crostini and White Bean Bruschetta. Fantastic! Such a great combination of wonderful flavors. Onward to Prosciutto wrapped cod, shrimp and bay scallop risotto and duck leg confit. Empty plates all around. Just delicious! Dessert was incredible with carrot cake and pineapple sorbet, chocolate ganache with vanilla ice cream and an apple cobbler. Heaven. My favorite all time cocktail is now the Arrival Thyme..wow. Bourbon, maple, thyme, lemon goodness. You have no idea. After serious collaborative chats with our fantastic waiter I "think" I can recreate this gem. Go, see for yourselves! The Park Inn recently came highly recommended to me, so I booked a reservation for myself and my parents for tonight. When we arrived, the manager Jason seated us in the outdoor dining tent at a table right next to the plastic wall of zipped tent liners (I thought it was odd they were closed because the other sides of the tent were open and it was a hot, humid night). We waited more than 10 minutes to be greeted by a server and/or to get water, and by that point, we were all sweating and my mom started fanning herself with the menu. I went up to the host stand and asked Jason if we could please move to an empty table on the other side of the tent (which wasn't enclosed by big heavy sheets of plastic) and he seemed irritated by my request (maybe because he had to look up from the iPad with the blog blue plastic cover he holds to manage reservations?) Surprised by his reaction, I provided a rationale: "PLEASE my mom is very HOT and fanning herself with your menu". To this he suggested that it was no cooler on the other side of the tent (sans plastique). I again said "PLEASE" and he muttered "fine" and rapidly walked away from the host stand into the tent. I also went back into the tent, stopping at my parents table to happily let them know "WE CAN MOVE!!!!!" We quickly grabbed our menus and glasses and silverware rolls and headed to the obligatory table only to be informed by Jason "NO, you can't sit at THAT table" (the one I had asked about). What do you mean, I asked? He replied "THAT table is RESERVED and that SORRY, we could sit at another table" (in the middle of the tent, not near the tent opening/breeze) On a side note, it was very hard to hear him & his explanation of why we couldn't sit where we asked (and there were several empty tables in the tent) because he was kept picking up silverware and setting tables as we stood there, confused. When I suggested that I wasn't thrilled with the new seating arrangement, he replied "Well if you don't like it...." at which point I asked him if he wanted us to leave and he said "sorry" and stomped off. Ugh! Other than the very rude treatment by the manager Jason, our waitress was great and my cocktail was tasty! The risotto with shrimp and scallops was delicious, as was the deviled egg starter we shared. Unfortunately, the Bolognese and the Swordfish entrees my parents ordered were both mediocre and not worth the price tag. Also, the lack of fans in the tent and the abundance of flies and gnats buzzing around us throughout the meal (yuck!) didn't really create a great ambiance. Also, while we were signing the check, the "reserved" table that was off limits to us was rearranged to accommodate a party of 5 more than an hour and a half after we sat. I love Hammondsport and supporting local restaurants and wineries! Especially now, when restaurants are facing huge challenges due to Covid! But as someone who worked in restaurants/hospitality for years, I also know that treating people with respect, humility, and kindness is a way to earn loyal customers, a good reputation, and sustained business; hopefully, the Park Inn will figure this out too, but until then, we won't be back :( read more

Tried going to dinner and he said all tables were "full", when there were 5 empty tables outside u see the tent a few empty tables inside. Our whole experience was five star from start to finish. The host checked in our reservation and once I told him my name he immediately knew which table he had us at. So many times at other places lately they search for your name, then when they finally find it it's like brain surgery trying to figure out where they are going to accommodate the reservation you made! We were seated and Kate was our server. We knew the food would be good because Dan Eaton is the chef here, but Kate was excellent! She understood the term "silent service". There was just the right amount of checking on us, never intrusive, our water was never empty, and she is the first server in I can't tell you how long that cleared our silverware and replaced it. These are the details I always notice everywhere I go... because well, I can't help it. We always had everything we needed. All of the other servers seemed equally well- trained. The ones who brought our food brought it all at the same time and did not auction it off. They knew exactly who ordered what. What a breath of fresh air the service here was! Ok... now the food. We had the antipasto, tuna crostini, baked brie, and eacargot to start. Every plate was delicious and unique. The antipasto had some lovely roasted garlic...a very nice addition, the brie was sweet and savory, and the tuna with the green goddess had a delightful flavor profile completed with watercress. Three of us had salads; the summer salad and beet salad that we enjoyed. They were perfectly dressed. For the main courses we had the lamb, prosciutto-wrapped cod, Arctic char, and soft shell crab. Everything again beautifully presented and tasty. My char cooked perfectly! We decided on dessert because we knew everything was homemade and would be worth it. We had the lemon tart, sorbet (pineapple and coconut) and the beignets which I think were my favorite. My husband is a Doctor and we escaped to the Finger Lakes for a much needed vacation through the Covid craziness. Alas we discovered the Park Inn and are staying here the next few nights. Our room is very cozy, exquisitely decorated, spacious, and more. We dined here tonight as well. Matt, our server, was very knowledgeable, courteous, attentive - and our dinner was all together wonderful. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection served over a bed of the most divine risotto I have ever had the pleasure of eating mixed with corn, garlic scapes, pancetta and well, I don't know what else. It was simply heavenly. Husband had the BBQ mixed plate which I also sampled and was very delicious! I can't wait to come back here for our next FLX trip and am already planning our next excursion.
