Super cute venue. To make a reservation, there's dining room, patio, and boardwalk. Depending on weather, temperature, and time of day some of the options may be uncomfortable, so choose based on when you go. I was in the dining room because it was a little chilly outside. Glad of it because when we were leaving we noticed there were mosquitoes outside. Cocktail: Toucan with bourbon, orange, pineapple, simply syrup, lemon. Delicious! Non-alcoholic: They also had a black tea and lemonade which I got to be less sweet, it's as expected. They have different flavors and I'm not sure which one they gave me. Went here specifically because Chef Cruz is there this summer. So I can only speak to his menu. My group had: The calamari salad with lemon vinaigrette, herbs, cucumber. This has a fresh, bright flavor. This is on a bed of greens. (Sometimes seafood salad is just the seafood) I would get this again. The chicken empanadas with spicy lime aioli had a nice flavor and crunch. Both the filling and dough were nice. I typically spring for a beef empanada, but after these chicken ones, I'll try getting chicken in the future. The burrata & cantaloupe with arugula, pistachios, balsamic, EVOO was very tasty. Given the size and proportion, it's more like a fruit and nut salad with a side of burrata. The house salad with orange honey vinaigrette, fennel, cucumber has a very nice flavor and is good on its own, but kind of redundant with the other salad-forward apps that we chose. The clam toast with bacon, white wine, parsley was very good. There's only two small pieces of toast, which were a little too charred to fully eat, but the clams and broth were very nice. You should ask for a spoon if you really like the broth. I just scooped the broth using the little clam shells. The chipotle chicken wings (special for the day) were very good. The chicken was tender and "fell off the bone." The wings were coated with a good amount of sauce with some heat to them. There was a green aioli dip to cut the heat. Dessert - got the chocolate panna cotta, which was more of a large chocolate pudding in a glass. Not like other panna cotta I've tried. Our server was great. I'm not sure of her name, but she was efficient and attentive. Definitely worth a visit if you are close by this summer! read more

We've been to this place numerous times over the last few years - under old and new ownership. Location is the best part - you can sit right by the water. But food unfortunately was rather disappointing. Burger was very basic and really not nicely presented, with just a slice of tomato and onion (I asked w/o onion, but everything else). Fries were great and the wine was good. Steak was disappointing, not a good cut, very chewy. For an elevated price point, food has to be better. Service was good, except for the mixup (onion/lettuce), everyone was very friendly and everything was served in a timely manner. read more

Despite a little mix up with our reservation the staff could not have been more helpful- even securing & installing an umbrella on our table for us ( not requested but greatly appreciated). We have been coming to Snug Harbor for many years and my partner even grew up here as a child. We have had many a great meal at this restaurant under previous owners. Therefore, we were intrigued and optimistic when we heard it had changed hands. To begin, I want to be fair since this is under new management. However, I am at a loss to find much to say that is positive. The staff seemed confused and disoriented when we arrived. We were surprised to see just how much smaller the place was after the renovation to make room for rental units, but that was not the issue. Practically everything else was. Let's start on a high note... the summer salad and the sticky Asian wings were very good. It went downhill pretty quickly from there. We also ordered the bread and butter appetizer, which was bland, dry and a total waste of money. Do yourself a favor and don't bother. We were a party of four and decided that the 'boards' were the way to go with the pretty limited menu. We opted for two each of the butcher board and bbq pit master board. The bbq board included littleneck clams, which was an odd pairing, smelled very fishy and were nearly inedible. I was able to choke down two before the smell got the best of me. The ribs were good enough, as was the pulled pork and bbq beans. However, the cornbread was disastrous. It was so dry and flavorless, my daughter quite literally blew out cornbread dust on an exhale. The butcher board was even more disappointing. The roasted potatoes were very good, crispy, but still under-seasoned. The prime rib was below average, to the point that we opted to leave a large piece instead of taking leftovers. Now on to the seafood... this is where it gets really bad. Again, this was paired with the littleneck clams, which we didn't touch after the first board experience. The 'seared' salmon was so disgustingly fishy, overcooked and truly inedible. My daughter's boyfriend took one bite and spit it out into a napkin, which I have never seen him do before. Needless to say, no one else even dared to try it, although I caught a whiff when I picked up a piece to examine. Upon examination, it was a small, thin, extremely dry and stiff portion slathered with a pesto (ish?) sauce. Utterly amazed that they would even dare to serve this to their customers. The small portions of grilled veggies, which were served on both boards, were probably the best prepared food out of everything we ate. The service was mediocre, at best. The staff was clueless and equally unenthusiastic. We gave this a pass since most were very young and the restaurant just opened a few weeks earlier. The ambience was dim and uninviting and felt more like an office vs. a restaurant. To add insult to injury, or vice versa, my daughter sliced her ankle open on a piece of metal bracket sticking out of the baseboard radiator. All in all, not certain what was the bigger hazard, the food or the sharp metal. In the future, I truly hope the new owners reevaluate the quality of the food and preparation, as well as adding a bit more ambience to their restaurant. Overall, I hope this is a case of the restaurant "settling in" under new ownership/management and they will find a groove with suppliers, staff and ambience appeal because for so many years, Snug Harbor has been a staple in our restaurants we've visited while staying on Keuka, but until further notice it is certainly out of rotation. read more

We had a reservation on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. When we got there, there was no one at the host station. Took about 15 minutes to get someone to help. They were completely backed up and asked us to wait at the bar for a table. We got a drink and waited over 45 minutes before someone got us but at that time, we decided to get going elsewhere. They did comp our drinks at the bar. They were just incredibly understaffed and slammed. Hoping they can address that soon! Wish we could've dined there. read more

We went to Snug Harbor for dinner and the hostess couldn't find our reservation. Finally - she found it! There is no handicap access. One of our friends has MS and had to climb several steps to enter the restaurant - it was difficult. The menu didn't match what is posted on their website. We placed our order and waited nearly an hour before it finally came. Two of us got the pulled pork sandwich - the pork was barely warm, which made me nervous. Two of us got the burger, asking for medium - both burgers were extremely well done and dry. French fries had been cooked too long. Our waitress was OK, I think, but she did let us sit for nearly an hour with not saying anything about why the food took so long. That might have had something to do with the cool pulled pork. We always enjoy dinner on the lake, but sat inside because of the outdoor temperature of 88. Inside, some renovations had been made since we were last there, and it was very noisy - nothing to soak up the sound. Then someone cranked up the music over the sound system. Thankfully, someone at another table asked them to turn it down. All in all - not a good experience. We won't be going back. read more

Good food, absolutely the most disorganized, oblivious, horrible service, by nice people. Yup, that sums it up. Three of the six orders were absolutely wrong -- beef burgers instead of tuna burgers, special requests completely ignored. Whether it was the 20 minute delay for the other 3 people to get their food after others were served, the fact that they served a person a partial Flat Tire beer because the keg was tapped and still charged full price, , or the complete obliviousness of the waitress, or the way she bad-mouthed others, we genuinely struggled to enjoy ourselves. No concessions, offers to comp the 3/4 beer, nothing. What a train wreck. Waitstaff all looked liked they were run ragged, but it was their mistake on our order, and just made matters worse. After telling them we were eager to get the check, 10 minutes elapsed, and I went in. The restaurant to find the waitress taking other tables orders and had to request the check again. WTF? I welcome contact from the owner, who the waitress seemed happy wasn't there. The food we got was good. The experience? Not one to repeat. read more

Stopped at Snug Harbor for lunch the other day - the service was horrible, the food was bad and the coffee was worse. We started off by being given the wrong menus, so I ordered the calamari, which the restaurant wasn't prepared to make. It took them 30 min to realize the mistake, so I ordered something else, then they decided to make the calamari for me after all. Kind of wish they didn't, because it was bland and the breading was falling off. My husband ordered the pizza of the day, which was supposed to be spinach, bacon and onions, but it came out with only bacon and tomatoes. We were so happy to see that Snug was open during the off season. We visited on a Saturday evening and was able to sit by the warm fireplace. They have a fantastic seasonal menu. We started with the Bruschetta for 3 which included a duck confit and a prosciutto version, very creative. My friends ordered the special which was a fried trout with garlic mashed. And I ordered the "deconstructed" Beef Wellington, which was amazing. We ended our meals with delicious seasonal desserts, one of which was an Apple cheesecake, again, perfect for the season. Our server Carley was spectacular, we will go back just to see her! The chef came to our table to check in on us and our dinners, and the bartender was super friendly as well. But there machines were down and we couldn't order or pay so we will go back because we heard great reviews from it. But as far as Snug Harbor what a lucky choice to have been given. Made reservation for a Friday night birthday dinner. Travel did not take as long as expected,so were quite early. The staff broke down a pre-set double table to allow us to start our evening early AND be on the outdoor terrace when we requested it. Our server, Kaila, was outstanding: flexible, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. The meal was superb! Salads were crisp,. The seasonal salad especially desires a try! Fresh fruit, greens, feta, toasted pecans topped with a delicious dressing. Entrees were served piping hot. The pesto salmon was succulent, flaky tender with a savory crusty skin. Sliced veggies and new potatoes, all delicious. The Fish Fry had a huge piece of haddock, an abundance of crispy fries and a full serving of crunchy slaw. Somehow, we also managed to order dessert...a moist chocolate lava cake with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream covered in warm fudge. Dessert was comped as a special birthday treat!! Amazing! My girlfriends and I had dinner at Snug Harbor during a bachelorette weekend. Service was top notch - so friendly and professional! It was a quiet due to an event going on in town, which worked out perfectly for our group. They brought a complementary glass of wine to the bride which set a fun tone for a celebratory night. Beautiful restaurant and view on the southern part of Keuka lake. Started with margaritas- perfect! Ribs are delicious with outstanding coleslaw and fries on the side. Friends enjoyed their meals too. French dip, salad all fresh and tasty. Danette is a fab server and made sure we were enjoying everything. I'd recommend coming for afternoon drinks as well on a beautiful sunny afternoon - by boat or by car - the porch is amazing. Consider this a must visit when at Keuka Lake region. read more

Snug Harbor has been open on Lake Keuka's west side, just outside of Hammondsport, for many years. It seems to be a popular place with locals and tourists. Last night was a cool evening so we ate inside, the four of us. No waiting for any of our service. In fact, had to constantly tell our waitress not to rush as we like to take our time. Lots of diners and a big surprise party upstairs, plenty of parking to accommodate cars (and boats). Everyone in our group seemed happy with their meals and drinks. I had the special drink of the night that included Thin Mint Cookies, Peppermint Schnapps, and a few other ingredients that made for a tasty drink. Two martinis at the table and a beer. I ordered the house salad, which was just the right size and only $4--field greens, mandarin oranges, walnuts, other? Satisfying and tasty. My entree was chicken breast with prosciutto and cheese (gorgonzola, I think). The sauce on the chicken was a bit salty, but I mixed some of it in with the orzo. Lots of veggies, cooked just right, not mushy. Broccoli, carrots, sprouts. (see my photo) The meal was filling so we chose not to have dessert but they all sounded good... chocolate and such! Our waitress hovered a lot! Until it got a bit busier. We never lacked for water; a nice quiet young lady constantly, yet unobtrusively, refilled our glasses. They certainly had a lot of waitresses, too many in the beginning, but I'm sure later as it got busier, they all came in handy. It was just a bit disconcerting to have them all standing around. Live music, with a tendency toward country sound--not my favorite. But, the musician was set up outside so it wasn't loud or annoying. He also played a harmonica with a Neil Young kind of sound which I enjoyed. Several families with babies, small children and not-so-small children. Surprisingly, except for one minor crying session, all were peaceful. Thankfully, Dad tended to his crying child immediately. A beautiful building, more so on the outside than in. Old and could use a major (and probably costly) overhaul. Who you are with makes a difference when dining out and my friends made everything about the evening seem just right. read more

Well, I had the most disappointing dinner ever. Small menu with the main features not available. Main feature on mother's day menu was dry, and chunks of pork chops instead of pulled pork. My cob salad was way too big and the avacado was tasteless and very pastey. Was not aware of any dressing on the salad. Margarita was not any way like a real margarita with tons of ice. Finding options to eat since I am gluten sensitive was very poor. We all just left in the end without asking for desert. A worst Mother Day dinner ever. Our party sat on the ground level which was very noisy and impossible to really have a conversation. read more

The atmosphere was very nice the service was ok. Very pricey for what we had. My husband had 12 Mussels about 25 fries in a no exciting sauce for $25.00 . No salad or bread was offered. I had the small plate pork ribs in an Asian BBQ sauce and Asian slaw . Very tasty. Came with 6 baby back ribs for $19. Had the special appetizer duck Rangoons for $15.00 for 6, they were very tasty. All and all everything was just ok. But the view was beautiful looking out at Keuka Lake. The restaurant itself is very cute. I feel like we paid for the view . read more

It was not just us , as other tables outside had to walk in to get the manager to get them water. Not run well , a cup of poor excuse for onion soup was 10 bucks, keep in mind this is not NYC. Wanted to eat on the water after spending a day biking near the Finger Lakes. Chose this place because we had been there before. Had great special options and we both ordered two of those options. The server came back and said they had just run out of the one my husband wanted. Luck of the draw. Within moments another server was bringing food to the table next to us and spilled ketchup on the ground which splattered up all over my husband's shirt and shorts. The server at fault was very apologetic and offered dry cleaning costs to us. Got our meals, which were great, waited for our server to offer us something like a free dessert (because something had happened to the table on the other side of us and heard them offer a complimentary dessert to them, although I'm sure for much less of a troublesome issue) but nope, got the bill and was expecting some sort of a discount but nope again. Never heard from the offending server about any more dry cleaning compensation. Left paying over $100 and no, we didn't take things out on our server, who was great, and left over 20%. Great ambiance on the water despite the issues we had. Don't know if we'll go back yet. read more

We are so happy this place has reopened! We live just a few doors down, but the view and ambiance from this location were spectacular. We easily made a reservation online (you could choose where you want to sit, and exactly at what time), and they had our table ready for us when we arrived. The service was excellent - we were attended to just right, and never felt like we were wanting for anything. The food was paced perfectly - we had enough time to enjoy our appetizer, and the kitchen was flexible for my food allergy. We ordered the meat and cheese platter, the roasted Brussel sprouts, and BBQ board - we loved everything. The meat and cheese platter had several different cheeses and meats, and came with crackers. The Brussel sprouts were excellent, especially with the sauce drizzled atop. We loved everything on the BBQ board. Needless to say, we were part of the clean plate club. I Just went and ordered the veggie panini. Had to ask to remake 2 times and it still turned out horrible. Missing all the ingredients. Just cooked eggplant, wilted grape tomato and white bread. No salsa avocado roasted red pepper. Left hungry, tired. Horrible (new) chef doesn't know how to cook. The manager gave us free wine and dessert however we didn't get a dinner. I'm vegan and I asked for it without mozzarella cheese. It was so disappointing. The other dinners we got were good however waitress was unprofessional. Food took an hour to come out and the food was overpriced, and not to mention just plain disappointing. Never come here if you are vegan, vegetarian, if you eat meat and fish this place is for you. But the food is definitely not diet food. Heavy creamy and expect to eat 700+ calories no matter what you get. read more
