Disappointing! Ordered the Salmon Marsala (most expensive thing on the menu). My salmon was very under cooked; returned to the kitchen for a noticeably smaller piece (manager did apologize) however, the dish was flavor-less, under seasoned and did NOT live up to the trendy description or price tag. The cocktail was good. I agree with the other reviewer about the "fusion" - not done well and no amount of swanky decor and hype can convince me otherwise. My wife and I went to this place for our 21 year anniversary. We sat outside in patio area and had a great dinner! Server explained menu with proper pronunciation and assisted in our food/drink choices. Food was flavorful and drinks were well done and not overly sweet. Bring an appetite portions are large. We went there with a lot of curiosity as what fusion Indian food might taste and look like! After Rasoi, Rasa and Kabob and Curry, how much out of the box will it be! And WOW! Sanjeev D you truly made an obsession out of Chaska. Beyond satisfied with the menu and the offers. We ordered several items from the appetizers and each one has its own signature taste. Chilly cheese toast was offered on the house as we ordered our drinks. Definitely try out their Ardha from mixology. We ordered Avocado chaat, lamb kabob, fish kabob, stuffed naan. Even my twelve year old enjoyed all of them thoroughly. We had to finish the evening with the desert platter. Parle G brings nostalgic connections to our childhood. Combined with cheesecake was so delicious that even my son felt our nostalgia. But to me hospitality is above all to visit a restaurant again. From the owner, manager, host and server, everyone was very friendly. Even more than other three restaurants I must add. We are definitely visiting it again. We love Rasoi and heard that Chaska was somehow connected to them. First of all the menu seems very limited and expensive! My wife got the tofu saag which she had to add spices to when we got home. (Fail). I got the chicken biryani which was just ok, extremely dry rice and again lacking flavor. We did get an appetizer spicy cauliflower which was good. All was takeout, we will not be back. 'Chaska', a fresh crop of restaurants in the Graden City. It could easily rest on its good looks, awesome ambience and effusive service. It made us feel glad to be there from the moment we stepped inside. HOWEVER, behind the glam is the hard work of owners Vandana and Sanjiv Dhar. The menu was far more compelling than we found at most Indian restaurants in the region. Every dish that we tried - flatbreads, Brussel sprouts, shrimps (to name just a few) were prepared and executed with a consistent nuanced attention-to-detail - suggesting that owners care as much about cooking as they do about the look and comfort. I was very excited to check this place out and it was great! The decor was beautiful and had a cheerful vibe. Christina was our server and was very helpful with suggestions and answering our questions about the menu. I came here with my mom and she got the Chakra for a drink and I got the Mudra. I absolutely loved my drink and I will definitely order it again. For food we got the garlic naan and she got avocado sweet potato chaat (small plate) and I got the jackfruit and ricotta kofta (large plate). Sat outside on a gorgeous evening. Nice wine and beer selection. The samosa app was outstanding! The samosas were rich and crispy and the chutney was a happy flavor explosion. The cauliflower app has sauce that is a bit too sweet for my taste but my companion loved it. Lamb barra kebab had five chops (couldn't eat them all!) tender and juicy and with a crisp tangy coating. Generous portion of roasted veggies that were were wonderfully prepared, definitely fresh (not frozen like in some places). Came with a little side of yummy dal, and a fantastic green sauce cilantro & mint? that was perfect with the rice. Waitress really knew her stuff, great advice. Going back soon! read more

I had never been to this restaurant but heard good things. It was a Friday evening. The dining room was half full a was bar setting area but quickly filled up. There was a group of younger folks 6-8 in the corner of the restaurant. When we were seated we could tell they were having a good time and were LOUD. We ordered food and the service ( we had apps and an entree) was great. But the noise and volume only increased, making it difficult to even have a conversation. The table was getting "looks" from all over the dining room. Finally, we mentioned it to the person who seated us asking if he was the manager ( he said yes) We explained that a wonderful first- time experience had been ruined. He explained it was acoustics acknowledged the loudness. We suggested that he tell them to "take it down a notch".... he waffled and did nothing. Too bad . I came to Chaska for the first time for dinner because I heard it was amazing. And WOW! It was the best Indian food I've ever had. The coconut clam chowder tasted better than regular clam chowder and it was just mouth watering. I ate the entire bowl. We also got the chicken 65, tikka masala and chicken biryani. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Seriously one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, I haven't sat down in a long time and enjoyed a meal THAT delicious. We're fans of their other restaurants and knew this was "fusion"--but for us that translated into over-priced disappointing food. The polenta calamari portion was small and overly salty, the naan "pizza" with chicken tikka masala was doughy and had little taste--I've had frozen pizzas that taste better. There is no lunch time menu and the small portions do not come with rice. For lunch, I look for good food, reasonable prices, quick service. None of that happened. Will avoid in the future. I'd rather go to Rasoi and get a dosa. read more

Both had the potential to be standouts (I love Indian spices!), but the cauliflower dish was too sweet and gummy, and the okra dish was over-over-salted and oily. This is an update to an original review. We ordered takeout from Chaska online tonight and asked that the main dishes be of medium heat with the spices. We just enjoyed some incredibly fantastic food. Our first experience a few months ago, we did not include the request of lowering the heat level and we had a bit of trouble with how spicy the food was. Tonight was a whole different story and we are incredibly happy and satisfied with all of our choices which included the Samosa Chaat and Fattoush Salad as starters. Then for the main dishes we thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp Curry, Lamb Kofta and Tandoori Chicken. Great food! read more
