This was 8 days later, the outer layer of her nail was broken off.

I took my puppy to the puppy orientation class to get some socializing with her, the instructor had 8-10 puppies just running around and wasn't watching where she was walking. She stepped on my puppy who made a god awful noise and was limping immediately after. The instructor didn't apologize but she said 'oops, I better watch where I'm stepping' if my puppy wasn't a large breed dog she would have seriously injured her. A few hours after I noticed her nail was bruised. Within the week her nail was showing signs on failing off. Her nail did indeed crack and fall off, leaving the quick exposed after a month. I notified management as soon as I was able to and my concerns were left unanswered. I still payed for the class and I still haven't had anything rectified. I wouldn't recommend puppy classes due to this negligence.

We had our dog at Chasin' Tails for only two nights and never again. When we brought our dog home he was exhausted and his mannerisms were completely different. He slept for 2 days straight without any desire to really interact with us.We just thought he was tired from playing with all the other dogs and laughed this off. The company had been referred to us by a neighbor that uses them all the time with no issue. I did notice, however, on my walk with our dog after we brought him home that whenever I raised my hand he flinched as if he was worried that I was going to hit him. This was something he never did before. He's a kind golden retriever and the best dog we have ever owned! He's a really sweetheart and he is great with our kid. Also, we do not hit our dog. Then I was petting him tonight and I found about 20 smalls bite marks all over his head and neck area and around the back of his ears. It is hard to see the bites on him because he is a long haired dog. I was giving him an ear rub behind the ears and I felt bumps and once I used a comb and parted the hair I could see the bite marks which are mostly scabs now. Nothing seems big enough for stitches but these marks go round his neck and throat area. There must have been a large incident for this to have happened and it was never reported to us. I have photos but there does not seem to be a way to post them here. Perhaps I will post them to my profile here. The bite marks combined with his mannerism indicate to me that this was not a good experience for him. It's too bad because I was really looking forward to using the service again. The facility looks great and they had a last minute space for us. I am saddened about what happened to our dog and although I do not write reviews often, I thought it important to share my experience.

I originally used the Killarney location, where my dog's nails were cut past the quick. I was not informed of this at pickup. While driving home, I noticed blood throughout the back seat and immediately took my dog to the emergency vet. Although accidents can happen, the visit resulted in just over two hundred dollars in veterinary fees and caused ongoing anxiety for my dog during grooming appointments. When I contacted the location, I was told the bleeding had been stopped sufficiently for pickup, though the hair cut appeared incomplete and uneven. After this incident, I was uncomfortable returning to that location and attempted grooming at home. Eventually, I found a groomer who worked well with my dog, but she later moved away. Out of necessity, I scheduled an appointment at the downtown Petropolitan location. A groom two months ago went well, and my dog showed no signs of distress afterward. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today. Last night, I received a call advising that another client had cancelled and was asked if I could bring both dogs at 10:30 a.m. instead, which I agreed to. Overnight, one of my dogs became ill, and given the circumstances, I called to cancel the appointment to avoid bringing a sick dog, and another dog living in close contact with him, into a facility with other animals. During the cancellation call, I was told the appointment was still scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and was met with skepticism when I explained the time change. I was also told that I had a history of multiple cancellations, which I questioned, as I had not used their services for approximately a year and a half. I was then advised that the sick dog's appointment could be cancelled but that I should still bring in the other dog, despite explaining the illness and shared household exposure. I was informed that failing to do so would result in a cancellation fee. I was transferred to a supervisor, who apologized for the interaction but reiterated the cancellation policy and continued to question the appointment change. I asked that the matter be confirmed with the groomers, which was acknowledged. At that point, I requested a call from the owner and was told this would occur at her convenience. Between the two locations, these experiences have raised concerns for me regarding communication, customer service, and health-related practices within the facilities. Additionally, throughout these interactions, I experienced what I perceived to be condescending and dismissive attitudes from staff, which further contributed to my dissatisfaction. The overall handling of these situations was difficult to believe and ultimately concerning enough that I felt compelled to share my experience. I do not typically write reviews; however, given the decisions made and how they were communicated, I believe it is important to warn others. I will also ensure that friends and family who currently use these services are made aware of these concerns so they can make informed decisions regarding their pets' care and the facilities that they are bringing them to and the conditions around them.

WARNING If you love…read moreyour dog, avoid this place like the plague. PURE NEGLECT. I saw right through their fake smiles and empty reassurances. They don't provide any real report about your dog's wellbeing just generic words, "she's doing great," which was clearly unbelievably false. The kennels are worse than shelters. The condition of this place merits a free stay, not the absurd fee they charge. It's overpacked with dogs, nonstop barking, and clear signs of stress everywhere. Their so-called "privacy suite" is a flat-out lie. They do NOT follow your dog's needs. They claim each kennel has an outdoor run, They have to manually open it, so their statement that dogs can go out anytime is completely false. I told them my dog is a rescue with a history of neglect and abandonment, and I trusted them to keep her safe and supported. Instead, I picked her up in distress , injured, bleeding, and with her voice completely gone from what must have been nonstop barking and crying. EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED THEM WITH HER SEDATIVES. She had made so much progress, and this experience set her back in every way. Blood was all over my car and the dog wash station from her injuries. It's heartbreaking and infuriating. The shelter she came from took better care of her than this place. I can't understand how businesses like this are allowed to keep operating. How do they sleep at night. Shame on you. PS: I suggest you concern yourself less with reviews and more with the wellbeing of the dogs under your care. At the very least, stop hiring low quality staff.

Time has really gotten way from me in writing this review! I lived in Airdrie from June 2015 -…read moreApril 2016. I was alone in the area for work and had only my dog, Cooper and cat, Saul. I didn't have a friend/family network in the area to help with my animals when I went out of town AND my dog Cooper was fear aggressive so it made it just that much more nerve wracking to leave him with someone. After two failed attempts at a dog sitter via a app based service (2 no shows for meet and greets!) I no longer had confidence in trusting a stranger found by an app to come into my home and car for my pets. I searched for kennels and found High Tails - LIFE CHANGING! From the first phone call to the last visit every experience was outstanding. Cooper loved it so much that when i would pick him up he would not want to get in the car. He was a different dog after his time at High Tails. It was a confidence booster for him and a relief for me. He became much less fearful even outside his stays. Saul, the cat was a little more subtle in his excitement - but he seems happy and content every time I picked him up after a stay. I believe we had about 4 stays at High Tails. One at Christmas time that I booked with less than 2 weeks notice and they were able to accommodate at the last minute. We moved back to St. Louis, Missouri about two weeks after their last stay at High Tails and I can say I was genuinely sad to no longer have the option to bring my pets to this amazing facility! Don't hesitate! If you are looking for a exceptional kennel to board your pets, this is the place!
