I have an adopted dog. He was 4.5 years old when I got him. He is a shih-poo. I first took him there October 2013. He received a great hair cut and nail trim.
Making an appointment for this groomer is worse than getting into your own beauty salon. And it takes longer to get your dog groomed than going to an actual spa. Due to this, I took him back to my normal groomer in January 2014. But the cut was not great. So I made another appointment for Muttley Crue in February 2014. By then, he had a mat on his chest.
When I dropped him off on a Saturday at 12pm, I was told he would be done in 5-6 hours. I don't own a cell phone. I went home for 3 hours. After the 3rd hour, I decided to do some running around. The groomers left a voice mail at 320pm advising that my dog would not be able to be completed in his grooming as he had nipped a groomer, and he was being difficult to deal with. When I arrived home at 5pm, and heard the 2 messages, the 2nd one saying that after a lot of holding and petting he calmed down enough to be groomed, and was ready for pickup. I arrived at the groomers at 530pm. When I arrived, I was told that they closed at 5pm and that I would be charged a late fee of $10.00, even though this is not was what I was told by the attendant. And due to the mat on my dog, the owner Annie gave me the what for. My dog was completely buzzed - he could have joined the army as his hair was so short - in February never the less, where we had 2 weeks of cold weather.
Even with this past conversation, I still made another appointment for my dog to get groomed on April 16, 2014. When I arrived the person behind the counter, without looking at my dog said, due to his mats, he will need to be buzzed. I advised the person that my dog did not have any mats. I said that I did not want him buzzed. The person asked Annie if it was possible to not buzz my dog. Annie responded "he is to be buzzed or not groomed at all". I was already within the cancellation policy time frame, I gave the attendant the leash, and said "fine, buzz him", and left.
After a 30 minute drive home, I barely sat down, when my phone rang, and the attendant stated that my dog was not letting anyone put a muzzle on him, and that he could not be groomed, and to pick him up a.s.a.p.. I went back to the groomer. My dog was not with the other dogs, but in a back room. Possibly in a kennel? The attendant gave me his leash, apologized to me, and we walked out. No communication from Annie or any other groomer.
I came home, called my other groomer, made another appointment for April 19 2014. After I picked up my dog from the groomer, I asked how he was. She said fine, that he doesn't like his legs done, but that is normal for him, and they had no problems.
The first grooming was great. The second grooming was good - there was still long hair on his legs that was missed. And the third grooming did not happen.
I will not be taking my dog there ever again. read more
