WARNING If you love your dog, avoid this place like the plague. PURE NEGLECT. I saw right through their fake smiles and empty reassurances. They don't provide any real report about your dog's wellbeing just generic words, "she's doing great," which was clearly unbelievably false. The kennels are worse than shelters. The condition of this place merits a free stay, not the absurd fee they charge. It's overpacked with dogs, nonstop barking, and clear signs of stress everywhere. Their so-called "privacy suite" is a flat-out lie. They do NOT follow your dog's needs. They claim each kennel has an outdoor run, They have to manually open it, so their statement that dogs can go out anytime is completely false. I told them my dog is a rescue with a history of neglect and abandonment, and I trusted them to keep her safe and supported. Instead, I picked her up in distress , injured, bleeding, and with her voice completely gone from what must have been nonstop barking and crying. EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED THEM WITH HER SEDATIVES. She had made so much progress, and this experience set her back in every way. Blood was all over my car and the dog wash station from her injuries. It's heartbreaking and infuriating. The shelter she came from took better care of her than this place. I can't understand how businesses like this are allowed to keep operating. How do they sleep at night. Shame on you. PS: I suggest you concern yourself less with reviews and more with the wellbeing of the dogs under your care. At the very least, stop hiring low quality staff. read more

Time has really gotten way from me in writing this review! I lived in Airdrie from June 2015 - April 2016. I was alone in the area for work and had only my dog, Cooper and cat, Saul. I didn't have a friend/family network in the area to help with my animals when I went out of town AND my dog Cooper was fear aggressive so it made it just that much more nerve wracking to leave him with someone. After two failed attempts at a dog sitter via a app based service (2 no shows for meet and greets!) I no longer had confidence in trusting a stranger found by an app to come into my home and car for my pets. I searched for kennels and found High Tails - LIFE CHANGING! From the first phone call to the last visit every experience was outstanding. Cooper loved it so much that when i would pick him up he would not want to get in the car. He was a different dog after his time at High Tails. It was a confidence booster for him and a relief for me. He became much less fearful even outside his stays. Saul, the cat was a little more subtle in his excitement - but he seems happy and content every time I picked him up after a stay. I believe we had about 4 stays at High Tails. One at Christmas time that I booked with less than 2 weeks notice and they were able to accommodate at the last minute. We moved back to St. Louis, Missouri about two weeks after their last stay at High Tails and I can say I was genuinely sad to no longer have the option to bring my pets to this amazing facility! This place is absolutely incredible. I have a dog who can get aggressive with other dogs, but absolutely LOVES people. To say finding boarding for a dog such as mine is stressful is an understatement. Cue High Tails Pet Resort. I initially found them through a google search and reached out to them via email to explain my dog's temperament. They responded quickly and were friendly and polite. I requested a tour of the facility to see if it would be suitable for my dog. They gave me a full tour facility and showed me a dog suite they use for dog reactive dogs, in a separate building with its own play yard attached. It was perfect! Of course, I thought of more questions after the tour, and the staff responded quickly and never made me feel like an inconvenience. She stayed there for the first time in summer 2019, and as it was the first time leaving her with someone other than my parents, I was still a little nervous. The staff gave me the owner's phone number, and told me to text or call anytime. Which I did. And the owner was phenomenal. She responded right away, sent pictures, reassured me that my dog was having a great time. They do have arrangements for dogs of all temperaments and the staff are just incredible. More than full service. Boarding, training, grooming, animal Chiropractor on site, doggy day care and specialty retail. What's best is the high level of care and attention each animal receives, because the owner, Debbie Zelez, is both caring and is trained in animal stress reduction and behavior. She also makes sure all of her staff receive animal behavior training. Great customer service, and the staff has a great attitude. read more

I cannot even begin to describe how excellent this team is. I recently moved overseas and with covid there was a delay between when I could fly and when my baby could fly. I checked her into High Tails for a month and I was sick about it driving to drop her off. As soon as I got there the professionalism and the compassion shown by the staff put me at ease. You can tell they truly care about your animals there. While she stayed with them they went above and beyond numerous times to keep her happy, healthy and active. They sent me videos of her playing and pics of her hanging out with her new dog friends as well as updates on how she was eating and sleeping every week. When things were busy during the work day, they would email me after hours from home. Leaving her with strangers and moving to the other side of the world was so stressful, but they made it a thousand times more bearable knowing that my baby was having a great time while I got things ready for her arrival. My aunt picked her up last week to get her ready to fly and she said that the staff were texting each other to come say goodbye to my girl and that she seemed really connected with the staff there as well. I am so grateful for this staff and the attention they gave her, as well as the peace of mind they gave me. Cannot recommend enough. Can I give more stars somehow haha read more

If you have just added a new pet to your family and are looking for someone to take care of them - or if you already have a groomer or someone to take care of your pets and aren't completely satisfied with the care they are receiving then I would highly recommend that you check out High Tails Pet Resort in Balzac. My wife and I have been using Debbie as a groomer for our pets over 8 years now. We happened upon High Tails when our groomer at the time informed us they could no longer groom our Bichon Shih Tzu. Yes folks, in his older years he would get a little testy about getting a hair cut and would occasionally nip at whoever was trying to cut his hair. What turned out to be our loss in having a groomer who did a good job eventually led us to someone who did a fabulous job. I can't even recall how we came upon High Tails but I do remember that one of their claims was that they could work with dogs of all temperaments and that's how we were introduced to Debbie. At that time she was working out of her basement and I can't tell you how happy I am that we found someone to take care of our pets needs as Debbie and her staff have done. My wife and I have a soft spot for rescues and just that fact alone means that our pets come with baggage. With time, and training, these issues can be worked through with the animal but what do you do in the meantime? They still need regular nail trimming and haircuts - wouldn't want the other dogs pointing and laughing at them now, would we? Debbie and her staff have been awesome. They are completely dedicated in ensuring that all their furry clients receive the best care possible. The facilities are extremely clean and the staff are well trained. In addition to the grooming services that High Tails does for us, we also purchase all of our other pets needs out there from toys to vitamins. We've not had to use their boarding services yet but if our son ever decides to move out, then I wouldn't hesitate to have our fur babies have an extended sleep over out at High Tails while we are away. And get this folks - they even have a pool and sunning deck for the dogs in one of the many play areas. Seems to me they pets have better amenities than some of the places I've stayed in but i'll never complain because I know how much I love my pets and how much joy I get from them and because of all they give I want the very best for them.. I've recommended High Tails to friends and family in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Way to go Team High Tails - You Rock! . read more

This is the second time we have had our two pups, Django and Zoey boarded at Hightails Pet Resort. This time they were there for 10 days!! (Dec 23, 2014 - January 02, 2015) I have nothing negative to say about High Tails. Me, being a worrier had tons of questions for them when we dropped off our dogs, the staff were more than happy to answer all of my questions even though some may have sounded silly. The boarding rooms were nice and toasty for our pups. When we arrived to pick Django and Zoey up, they were both happy and healthy although so exhausted when we brought them home (to be expected of course). Both came home the same weight as when we dropped them off. The staff at High Tails even sent both home with a report card and each a Christmas Stocking as they were there during Christmas. SO NICE!!! I do recommend High Tails to anyone and will be bringing my pups there if we go away again and can't bring thems! Thanks to all the Staff for taking such good care of our pups!! read more

We took our puppy to High Tails for the daycare program. Which turns out to be a boarding house for dogs. It seem there may have been one playtime in the 4 hours she was there, not exactly the socialization experience we were hoping for. And she came home sick! I spent the night getting up with her because she is so sick. read more

When my pug started to get old she was difficult to have around the house. Her bladder leaked and she would shed non-stop. There was nothing the vet could do. I found High Tails and decided to try the chiropractic care. After the first treatment my pug fell into a deep sleep for hours. Her bladder issues actually improved. The staff at High Tails groomed my pug too. I was so impressed at how gentle they were with her. I recently had to put my pug down, but I know High Tails extended her life and made her last year much better. read more

Have been using Hightails since opening and are very pleased with their service. They are reliable and very caring towards our dog's individual needs. The cost may seem high however there are many staff members and new facilities so I imagine the operating costs are high as well. I am willing to pay as I feel that my dog is safe and secure. They seem to just keep getting better and better. read more
