So this is actually the third time I've done a boat tour to Turtle Canyon over the years, though my first with Charter Oahu. This was easily the best! The boat is a much smaller size than many that go out and the crew is absolutely amazing! We had Captain Meg, Sophia, Alix, Gretchen and Angelina on our boat and they were probably one of the best crews we've ever had on a boat tour! Secondly, this experience is incredible (hence I try to do it whenever I'm in town!) I've never been anywhere else in Hawaii with so many turtles in the water with you as at this 'cleaning station'. It's absolutely incredible to swim with them (but please respect them and give them the proper space). If you're in Oahu, don't miss this experience and don't miss doing it with Charter Oahu! First of all, the boat is very small and we got sea sick! There's no shade and you burn in the sun all the time! The instructions should be given WHILE going into the ocean to save the time, not sit the passengers in a 100 degree weather on the shore and talk for 20min. Also, we didn't see much fish. Hardly any. The staff was super nice, but I would never use that company for snorkeling ever again read more

This was one of the most fun things we did on our visit to Honolulu. We chose Charter Oahu over some of the other Charter snorkel boats because of the small group size. It was a much more intimate experience than what I feel like some of the other "cattle style" boats provide. Bethany was our deckhand and she was really attentive to us, served us ice cold beverages and fresh pineapple. She also swam out and stayed with us in the water the whole time and pointed out different fish and sea turtles. We got to see several sea turtles, an eel and so many fish I can't even count. I can't remember what the captains name was but he was excellent handling the boat and also played really good music for us. Our trip took about two hours and the captain also took us a little out-of-the-way when he saw a whale breach the surface. I've never seen a whale before! We also loved seeing Waikiki skyline from the water and got great views of Diamondhead. read more

Did the Turtle Canyon Snorkeling trip. 5 stars for the whole crew and the trip. They were amazing and the experience was amazing! Unfortunately, our time was cut short because some offsite supervisor made us turn around before we got out of the harbor to pick up a party that was 30 minutes late. They should have extended the trip. Actually, they should have just let us leave on time instead of waiting for the disrespectful late party. read more

The crew and boat was great! Turtles are so cool! However, if you want a snorkeling experience, I'd say spend the little extra to go out of wakiki because you are snorkeling with at least 100 other people in a small amount of space. We went at 8:00 and couldn't even swim without kicking someone. read more

The crew of snorkel 1 was fantastic. Everything from checking in to boarding the boat, fitting of equipment, and how to use for those that have never been snorkeling before. Happily answered questions and very professional. On the way out they offered water and juice. While in the water 3 of the 4 person crew was also in water helping out and keeping watch, spotting and showing us turtles. On the way back in they again offered us water, juice, and bags of chips/crackers. The day we went the crew consisted of 4 badass women that knew what they were doing at all times. They offer a picture package that I highly recommend as none of my wife's pictures turned out and we would have missed capturing this awesome experience. This adventure was like finding buried treasure at the bottom of the sea(no pun intended). We were met by Sophia at the dock and she quickly got us all checked in. She was amazingly friendly and warm. We boarded the ship and were met by Captain Lorin, equally warm and friendly! We laughed and laughed and the group had a great time getting to know each other. Captain Lorin took us out to sea near the reefs for maximum sightings. Sophia was our life guard and was so knowledgeable about the reef and the beautiful creatures within. She even swan to the bottom because she saw a mini sea urchin and brought it to the surface we could could get a lesson on them and then we had the opportunity to hold it! Soooo cool. This really was an amazing experience. Such a lovely crew and such a beautiful way to start off the morning! We will absolutely book again next time we come back! read more

Was promised turtles, and saw turtles! But the overall experience was just good. We made a reservation for an 11am to 1pm snorkel tour. We made the reservation directly on their website. The cost for the experience came out to be $94 per person with the taxes and fees included so $188 for 2. When you arrive, you meet the boat and crew at the harbor in Ala Moana. From the start the crew were neutrally inviting, we filled out the survey and were instructed to hang around to wait for other passengers. The crew were gossiping about work drama in front of the passengers. They did not remember who arrived when so they took passengers who arrived late onto the board first for first pick of the seats on the boat and did not make special considerations for anyone who tended to be sea sick. When handing out juice, snack, and snorkel equipment they routinely missed people so others would have to ask and be responded to in stressful tones "calm down and we'll get it". The boat ride went very smoothly and we had a lot of freedom to roam the Turtle Canyon area. They did not provide a lot of direction for the customers while in the water, they just let them roam freely. They paid special attention to the customers that they sold photo packages too, but that's it. You will have a fun time on this tour, but I think we may have caught the crew on a bad day. read more

We got to whale watch, float around the ocean on inflatables, snorkel, swim with the fish, got to see turtles. JUST AMAZING! Awesome!!! Great experience snorkeling with the family with this amazing crew. Excellent set up, Small and intimate, which allowed us to have a great time in a laid back environment. The entire crew was amazing! They lead us to the perfect spot to see the beautiful sea turtles, there were turtles in the surface as we anchored, and other sea life! My husband and I went for our birthdays a few days ago! We were even able to bring along our 16 month old, took turns in the water. Met at the docks, and got out to the water quickly. Our instructors were awesome, very professional i felt completely safe! They gave great instruction and safety tips and were so helpful. I did towards the end start to feel a bit sea sick they gave me a ginger chew which actually helped. It was a fun experience we saw so many turtles and got some good gopro footage I would definitely rebook with them if we return! read more

This was a really fun family experience @ Turtle Canyon. We went out first thing in the morning and the water was calm. Meg & Alex were very kind and approachable. The boat will anchor off near other snorkeling boats and you're free to snorkel in between them all. We saw a few turtles and hundreds of fish all around us. Alex even dove down and brought a sea urchin to the surface for everyone to see and touch. Be sure to remember to tip the crew members, they really appreciate it! read more
