First time coming here and I was quite pleased. It's a smallish spot. It's clean. The menu has a good amount of options. Service was attentive and friendly. I opted for the charred salad, which was huge and packed with flavor. Very enjoyable. The fries, tots, and onion rings were all good. And I really liked that there were lots of dipping sauce options. Wagyu burgers! I honestly don't taste much of a difference between your regular burger but my mom didn't like it as much so maybe it's not for everyone? I, however, loved the Bacon & Beer cheese burger I got. SO good. Fries were great as well. It is annoying that the burgers come alone. Sides are an extra cost. I also tried the Strawberry Lemonade which was more on the sour side but still good. Comes in a HUGE glass so I had to take some home with me. First time visiting Charred and was pleasantly surprised. My son got the Wagyu cheeseburger which he devoured. I opted for a chicken BLT salad which was full of fresh greens and hit the spot. My other son made friends with the manager (Jess?) after he helped picked up a rogue bowl she dropped. She thanked him and offered him a brownie on the house. He was beaming. This was a recommendation from a person I work with. I was not disappointed. I ordered the jalapeño popper burger. They did not ask how I wanted the burger cooked, which concerned me. However it came out done to perfection. The creamy cream cheese smear balanced the jalapeño. The fries were also really delicious. The seasoning is what made them great! I've been to Charred probably a dozen times and will be back again. Quick and affordable food typically can be what is expected here. This time around we got an order of the buffalo wings. While they tasted great... it seemed these were more pigeon wings than chicken, they were so small! Despite them being cooked really well and the sauce being great, probably won't get these again. The breakfast burger was decent. Everything about the burger was good, it's just missing the wow factor, something to put it into the great category. I also got this with the garlic sriracha sauce on the side and I'm not sure if they changed the sauce or not but the consistency was much thicker than normal and it tasted a lot sweeter as well. Tots... always great. Zero complaints 10/10. After the wings and the breakfast burger I'll be honest, I was starting to lose a little bit of the zeal for Charred but then, sweet Jesus, then came the French Dip burger. I'm not joking when I say one of the best burgers I've had. Just absolutely bursting with flavor in every bite and the au jus it came with was also delicious. Went there last night, bacon bleu burger is pretty good. 11 bucks for a burger isn't too bad these days.

So the food was pretty good but again part of the reason people come to Yelp reviews is to get the whole picture before you try a place. Here's my only real issue with the place. All the up charges for dressings and extra lettuce. I got 10 wings and was given a very small side or ranch and blue cheese. When the waitress asked what I wanted ranch or blue cheese or both she should have let me know I was only entitled to one. The way she offered it she made it seem like I could have had both. Also when delete option off your burger such as what my wife did with no tomato and no onion as seen on the recipe why do I not get a discount of 50 cents per item if your going to charge me 50 cents for extra lettuce. Kinda feel like the extra lettuce should have been a wash if I'm not getting tomato's or onion. While inexpensive the principle of how little things like this are managed will detour me from coming back. read more

Can see what they are trying to do, an 'upscale' burger place. But for us it was priced that way, but very average in food and service. I ordered one of their burgers and because I didn't know the sauce they had with it, I asked for it to be on the side. I also did not want tomatoes on it. Watched the waitress write this down on the order check. BUT, tomatoes and the sauce was on my food. The pickle didn't want was also on the plate and the juice soaking into the bun. The burger itself was NOT top of the line, despite their advertising the beef not much better. the fries were standard out of the bag and freezer. This is the newer location in La Vista and the parking lot is shared with the Starbucks and other smaller businesses. We were seated quickly and service was good for the most part. The food came out quickly and the burgers are very good here. The Waygu beef does make a difference and the onion rings are crunchy and soft at the same time, which is unique. It does get noisy with the lunch crowd but once people leave, it provides a better environment to have a good discussion without raising your voice. Came in on a Saturday around 3:30pm and there was no wait, which I was happy about because I was hungry! We sat down and ordered right away. Both my husband and I ordered the classic cheeseburger. I hate to write this review because I was excited to try this place. My husband and I walked in along with another couple that followed us in. We were seated in between two other couples at a booth. The couple behind us were in the middle of eating and the one on the other side were just ordering. The couple that walked in behind us was then also seated. We were handed menus and looked them over for about 3 minutes and decided. No one came to our table. So we talked a little more but started to notice that it was taking awhile, and noticed that the couple that came in after us was served drinks and order taken. The couples on either side of us were then offered refills. We are literally between these two people and not one person acknowledged us. My husband said "let's go" so we left but I was frustrated so I went back to talk to the manager and ask what was up. She told me it was because of a shift change, offered to move us to the bar, and a free appetizer but it didn't feel very apologetic more annoyed that I brought it up. Also a shift change would make sense if other people didn't get served and why would we have to move to the bar? Especially when we were in between two others that got served. Service was friendly and great for the most part except the waitress presented the check to me soon after I finished eating and not asking if I wanted dessert, which I did. My bacon and bleu burger was just okay. I could barely taste any bleu on it. I felt like I was just eating a standard burger. Honestly, the dessert was the best part. Walked in to the restaurant and waited six minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us and take us to a table. She was more concerned about going to the kitchen, then taking care of the front of the house. There were at least eight other people behind us wanting to get tables. The restaurant had approximately nine tables open that were visible, as well as plenty of seating at the bar. When we finally got to our table, we sat there for 13 minutes and nobody came over to take our drink order or to acknowledge us as customers. I had to flag down another server and ask them to send the manager over. About four minutes later, the "lead" showed up to address our concern. After expressing my disappointment and frustration, there was no apology and just an excuse that they were "busy". The young female lead on June 11 had poor manners and a terrible attitude towards customers. Sadly, we were not even given a chance to order or try the place because the service was so horrible. Hey Owner you need to respond to this. This location will stay open. I voted for these folks in the best burger bracket a while ago and my oh my is this place shittastic. This was my 3rd attempt over the last year and each time it's been worse. The app was brought as shown...wtf. The charred jalapeños were "chilled" i told the waitress and she came from the kitchen and the "Cook" told her they are supposed to be chilled. Like how stupid do you think I am? You cool the Jalapeños to a nice char then chill them in the fridge before serving them on a dish where everything on it is hot and over poured. Look at the pic! Disgusting. The main course, welp the hockey puck burger has been cooked down to a well done, burnt puck. It was inedible. Don't worry NO ONE, not the server, the 3 people walking around looking bored or the manager decided to ask him how my meal was. A fun, laid back, casual environment. Family friendly. Industrial kind of feel. Lots of windows and natural lighting! They have a some patio seating that allows dogs! Very cute inside with a nice patio area. Doesn't feel like a typical burger place. The burger I got was huge and loaded (Steakhouse). Fries were delicious and garlic aioli put it all over the top. Overall, this is one of my favorite burger places. We've been a few times & usually sit at the bar. We've always been served by the same bartender, who is personable and on top of service. The burgers have been tasty (Carolina BBQ for the win!) and we like the tater tots with toppings vs the fries. Lemonades are terrific and we've liked the cocktails we've tried. We recently went and sat at a table and our waitress literally forgot about us after we weren't ready to order immediately upon sitting down. (We had to flag her down even though the tables all around us were hers too.) No drink refills offered, no asking about dessert, and we had to wait for our bill. Food was still tasty, but I think we'll stick with the bar seating for future visits. YMMV read more
