The City Pub is a cute little eatery in the La Vista area! I love that the area is starting to get some more businesses because I want it to succeed and become a new business park with lots of places to eat and shop. First off, the ambiance in The City Pub is nice and friendly, with astroturf accent walls, concrete floors, and a big cityscape transport map mural. There's a bar with lots of TVs to catch a game, and comfy booths and tables all around if you're only there to eat. The service was great, and we were checked on multiple times to make sure our drinks were full and our food was great. The beer was cold and crisp (I had two different ones, and both were awesome). I went with friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. We started with the Brusssels Sprouts and while it wasn't the largest serving, they were excellent with a balsamic and candied pecans adding to the tangy sweetness. Entree-wise, I got the meatloaf, and it came with tasty gravy, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies. Not too heavy for being meatloaf, but big on flavor! My friends got the Caesar Salad and the Pub Burger. Both were large portions and they really enjoyed what they chose. This is definitely a great spot in the City Centre area, and is worth enjoying a night out here. With a spacious and cool lower level interior it's nice enough for a date night, and casual enough to have a girls night, or friends gathering here. The upstairs is a totally different vibe, more loungey with a midcentury flare, and patio facing the astro. The menu is classic american food but with flare. Their caesars comes on a stalk of romaine, the crab rangoon is vertical, and the pizza is fantastic. The drinks and food are GREAT, but I do really like the walkablilty to things around it as well as the game room making this a family friend and fun night venue in a usually quiet omaha suburb. read more

We've had their food before through a yelp event, but this was the first time we've actually sat in the restaurant and ordered. My son and I went with the margarita pizzas that easily could've fed both of us with one pizza, but he wanted leftovers so we both got our own. I will admit my husband's wings and fries looked really good that day, but I was craving pizza. Their margarita pizza was pretty good, but I think it could've used a little bit more sauce. Overall great experience with our server being busy, but she took care of us adequately. We did have to wait a few times to get refills, and one time I went up to the bar to meet her there to make it easier. I was excited to see they offered brunch, so I definitely want to come back again for that. Early an early dinner in La Hood today! It's been on our list since they opened, and decided today was the day! Snagged their CFC! I'm sure you can guess by the completely empty plate, that it was GOOOOD. Great minimal breading, on top of a bed of summer squash succotash (say that five times fast) with excellent - non-split - gravy! Had to try their version of Fish N Chips, and lemme tell you... it racks right up with there my all time favorite fish and chips place damn near close. Great tasting cod - not fishy! - with a crunchy exterior, and home made tartar sauce. Never mind that they make their own... chips! Price for pub food but we get it. We'd definitely go back and try some of their other menu items! Place was fairly unbusy, but I hear they have BRUNCH! And a patio so for all your Brunch Baddies, make sure you add them to your list of places to try soon! read more

My friends and I chose this spot because we recently attended a concert at the Astro and noticed the City Pubs rooftop. We wanted to return and have a drink there. We went on a Friday night during the Husker game and were surprised to see only six tables occupied. Despite the nice atmosphere, our experience was disappointing. We started with a few drinks that were not up to par. The espresso martini was watered down, and the margarita wasn't great either. Our server/bartender, Sam, initially seemed helpful. When we asked if we could check out the rooftop, he offered to ask his supervisor to unlock it. However, when he returned, he said, "I unlocked it but make sure you guys bring your drinks back down or else I'm gonna be pissed," which caught us off guard. He seemed annoyed rather than joking, which was unprofessional. The food was terrible minus the Brussels sprouts. Those were very good! The $17 bacon bleu burger was extremely salty and made from a frozen patty, and the fries tasted like they had been fried twice and left under a heating lamp but were still cold. I asked Sam if I could substitute a side salad for the fries, and he agreed. As well as my friend who already received her food. I was charged additional $2 for my salad, which I expected for the up charge, while she was charged $6. When I asked Sam to correct this, he had an attitude and said "she had both fries and the salad" to which I replied, "yeah, but they were cold and taste terrible" I asked him to ask his manager to make the adjustment, which she kindly did. I felt like we were almost going to get into an argument over the old cold fries. My other friend ordered an $18 Caesar salad and asked if it came with shredded or shaved Parmesan cheese. Sam said it was shaved, but it arrived with grated Parmesan from a plastic bottle. Overall, the experience was poor. We spoke with the manager before leaving, and she apologized and appreciated our feedback. This place has potential if they make a few changes. I might try it again in the future if they were to make those changes. The upstairs would be a great spot to rent for a party or husker game. read more

We stopped here after church one day because my wife wanted to try somewhere different. We've had their food before due to a yelp event that the pub provided their food, and we remembered it being great. Our server was very friendly when we walked in and sat us. She said she could take care of us shortly but was trying to finish up on one table and clean up. It appeared, she had been the only one on the floor at the time. Decent amount of liquor options but only a few beers on tap. I went with wings that were cooked perfectly. They provided a great amount of sauce (which I can't think of what I ordered now), but they were coded perfectly and crisp. My wife and son went with pizzas that looked really good as well. This is a nice restaurant in my opinion with a great location having the taproom next-door. I came here for a party and had a great experience for how chaotic our party was! We were basically a servers nightmare moving around constantly--although everyone was at least polite and kind. Our server did an impressive job at keeping everything straight and remembering our names/orders! I have been to this location twice but I have never tried the food. I normally go for the drinks and they are pretty good. The bartenders are always friendly and suggest the best drinks. Cool spot located in an APT complex next to an entertainment arena. We (party of two) dropped by mid Sat afternoon. Place was nice, clean, and relatively empty. Bartender/waiter was prompt and courteous. The pub burger was perfect and the wings had an amazing glaze, but just a bit dry. Also the price point was a bit on the higher side for this type of food. Went here last night before Cake concert. Service was terrible, food was mid at best. Ran out of chips and pizza dough. We had a couple of the sandwiches, steak on sandwich was chewy and way overcooked. Buddy had the bacon jam burger and it was overcooked and pretty bland. Fries were great. One of my favorite meals in a long time. Their spin on Wontons were so surprising but delicious, I dream about them. I'm not a huge plain pizza person, but the white pizza was bursting with flavor! The jalapeño poppers, I'm not a spicy person so I was nervous but something about them was calling my name, and so happy I got them, because they were delicious, and I didn't think spicy at all!! Fries and homemade ranch 15/10! The place is pretty big and has lots of seats! Parking is hit and miss, free-no meters, but if there is a concert you might have to park in one of the garages! A relatively new establishment in the recently developed LaVista City Center. Large and spacious. Modern with a lot of dark accents. Pub and bar with numerous televisions to watch sports and such. Staff was friendly. Menu has a good selection for a "pub". We went for lunch and decided to do some sandwiches. We both got muffuletta's. Wife got the house chips and I got the fries. Sandwiches were very tasty with a bit of a kick. Prices are moderate. Good solid place to hang out with friends, grab a drink and eat some tasty food. We decided to try a brand new spot for a date night this weekend and were blown away by the ambiance, staff and amenities The City Pub has to offer! You walk in to a large, open dining room adjacent to the bar with plenty of tvs throughout. Think upscale gastropub. Perfect for game day, or fun date night out. For an opening weekend, service was on point. Our server was very attentive, made sure our drinks never went below half empty, and consistently checked in with us. We felt well taken care of and could tell the staff were excited to be open. As for the food and drinks, definitely recommend their signature cocktails! I went with the Big Slice of Pub Pie, and just like the name, it tasted like a delicious slice of pie. For food, can't say enough good things about the Roasted Corn Queso. I've never tried a queso dip with actual corn in it, talk about a taste bud experience! Dinner we went with the fish and chips and the shrimp cavatappi. Deliciously fried beer battered fish with both fries and homemade chips. Combined with their in house homemade tartar sauce, easily a future favorite. Their Cavatappi boasts huge shrimp portions with a not so thick cream sauce that is filling but not too heavy. It was definitely something I'd come back for. We ended the night with their homemade (all desserts are made from scratch) citrus olive oil cake and wow this was amazing! Think butter cake but even softer, paired with fruit and homemade berry ice cream, how could you not love it? Lastly, I cannot forget the entertainment factor of this place. They boast a variety of in-house arcade games, board games, pool tables, and even a rooftop terrace to enjoy those cool nights on. What an amazing addition to the area! Had dinner last night at City Pub in La Vista. I didn't get any pictures of that meal. Last night was the City Pub Pizza, pepperon, bacon, sausage, onion, roasted red pepper, wild mushrooms and mozzarella all on an in house made crust. It was awesome. Tonight I returned for dinner with my lovely bride. She had the Bacon Jam Burger, bacon onion jam and provolone. I had a bite and the jam is delectable. I had the Coq Au Vin, white wine braised chicken thighs, bacon, wild mushrooms, garlic on a bed of mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked to perfection and combined with the "gravy" made out of the chicken stock, bacon, garlic and mushrooms OMG it was incredible. The service is top notch, our sever was so personable and attentive. The chef visited our table and his passion and joy just shines through. With him at the helm in the kitchen it is no wonder every bite of our meals was so good. read more

Ok I just have to say if the dishes remain consistent the place won't fail. Very good! Priced right, clean, great service, easy to read menu. I felt like the menu had special attention towards unique but recognizable dishes that everyone could easily find an option. I wasn't overwhelmed with too many items either. Caleb did awesome both as bartender and placing our food order. The shrimp cavatappi dish was excellent very east coast feel with a white sauce that was less white and more seafood. Kyle had the steak sandwich which he devoured with rave reviews. Brian had the blue cheese burger with mushrooms instead of bacon and it's burger bracket worthy. The specialty drinks were spot on. If you have a show to go to at the Astro and are looking for a place to grab dinner, this is NOT the place to go. We showed up an hour before our show and they were not able to get our food out to us. We waited 50 minutes after we put in our order, then the manager told us the food just wouldn't be out in time. Ridiculous. Also, the menu on their website was out of date. Half of the items on the website were not available on the menu in restaurant. Also they were out of half of the items that were on the menu. Overall this experience was deeply disappointing and we won't be back. Good news, the Astro has food, and it's cheaper. Terrible!!! We had poor service the first time in shortly after opening. The building its self is very nice so we decided to give it another try after its been open for sometime. We tried stopping in again tonight although there is a concert it wasn't overly busy as it was still early and I understand that. But when I asked if we could atleast grab a drink from the bar we were told "no it was full" which it was not and we were instructed to an establishment a few doors down they were much busier which makes sense as they were happy to help customers. THE CITY PUB WAS NOT! I will never return to this poor excuse for a restaurant/bar nor recommend it to anyone I know. There are far better options that will gladly have you. Came here a few more times since my first review and I'm still a fan of everything here. Tried the barbacoa nachos with an espresso martini. The martini was ok, but not the best one I've ever had. I'm also a huge fan of espresso martinis so I am probably a bit picky. The nachos were really good though! Really good food and service. We stopped in for drinks and appetizers. We sat at the bar and service was good. The social butterfly is a fun drink. The bartender served it with the lemon juice separately so you can mix it yourself and watch it change color. We tried the barbacoa nachos and the rangoon. Both were great. The rangoon are made with real crab. The nachos were slightly spicy and the portion was huge. They have a nice patio and are located directly across from the new Astro music venue. If I could leave 0 stars I would. We were sat down immediately but then ignored immediately. Aside from a big group inside they had enough servers considering it was not that busy. Last Sunday six of us tried The City Pub in La Vista. It was worth the visit! We started off with an order of Crab Rangoon and the Fried Brussels Sprouts. The Crab Rangoon was pretty good, but wasn't the standout that the Fried Brussels Sprouts were! The menu doesn't mention any bacon in the Brussels sprouts but I could have sworn there was some bacon in there with the other flavors that made the dish different and better than other restaurants that serve them. I ordered the Bacon Chicken Ranch Pizza which was a generous 12 inch pizza with plenty of toppings. I was able to take some home for later. The flavors were well suited together for this pizza. My Granddaughter got the Shrimp Cavatappi. I got to taste it and I will order it next time we are there. It was delicious! It was very good and a generous portion. She took half of it home. My other granddaughter ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. It had a nicely flavored white gravy over it and the chicken was nice and crispy. My husband ordered the Pub Burger and he was very happy with the flavor and the fries that came with it. Our friends ordered their own version of the pizzas with just the toppings they wanted. All the food was very good and the service was quick and friendly. We will be returning again to dine here. Not your run of the mill bar food! read more

I enjoyed their "City Pub pizza," so much at that event that i have returned to their restaurant multiple times and it has become one of my go to places for pizza. The City Pub pizza is their version of a supreme pizza and truly phenomenal. Ambience is casual and service is always great. Recently opened, you might want to give this place a month or so to work out the kinks. Food choices on menu are solid. We came in on a night where the Astro was having a concert so City Pub was slammed. We had made reservations and got in easily. However, when we placed our drink order, cocktails were not available though they were on the menu. Odd choice considering restaurants make the most money on alcohol and dessert sales. We ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich and the Bacon Blue Burger. Both were good. The beef sandwich needed more salt while the burger needed less. We also ordered the lemon risotto side dish which was amazing! It had cleared out during the sandwiches so we ordered the apple bread pudding for dessert. We waitied about half and hour before we received it. It's good, too, but not waiting 30 minutes good.
