This is at the Orlando, FL location near UCF with Dr Nguyen Nguyen My college age son missed his semi-annual cleaning at home, so I thought I did my research by finding a good dentist near UCF (who was rated well with our dental insurance no less), where he could just get his teeth cleaned and keep up to date, until his next visit with his usual dentist back home. I was informed in advance that as a new patient they would be taking full x-rays. WELL, my son called me immediately after the appointment, to tell me he was all done and checking out, and scheduling to get SEVEN cavities filled. What, Wait, Rewind!?!?! I told him to stop right there, do not schedule anything, and have those new x-rays emailed to us. So fast forward, his dentist at home squeezed him in when he was able to get home for an evaluation and review of the x- rays they took. His current dentist (who he has seen since his first tooth) had to take new x-rays because the ones provided by Magnolia were sub-par. And as I expected, he did not have even ONE cavity, and his dentist said he teeth looked exactly as his last appointment approximately 9 months ago. And fortunately, not only was his dentist was just happy to report that he had a clean bill of health, but he sent my son on his way without charging him a dime. I really couldn't believe it when my son said SEVEN cavities. That is insane! After I finish writing this review, I will be contacting my insurance company to let them know of the sub-standard service offered at this location by this dentist, and how I really feel like they are taking advantage of patients who are gullible and essentially scam them. To leave on a good note, my son did feel like the dental hygienist did a good job cleaning his teeth.

The billing lady (sorry, forgot her name) was so HELPFUL while I was trying to figure out if getting individual dental insurance was even worth it since it's usually not. The girls up front are always patient with scheduling and answering questions. I was referred by a good friend of mine and I'm so glad. A week ago I had EXTREME tooth pain which forced me to find an emergency dentist. On my first appointment I came in contact with Marlen (front receptionist), Michael (dental assistant), Sharon (hygienist), the doctor and of course Dawn who btw called me on a SUNDAY to confirm my emergency appointment. Overall my first visit was great, mostly x-rays and questions. I left with antibiotics for my tooth pain and an appointment in 1 week for a deep cleaning. Fast forward to today. My first deep cleaning in over 10 years. I was extremely nervous and scared but Ellie ( THE VERY BEST HYGIENIST ) explained everything before starting. She gave me options regarding numbing (I ended up only using a topical) and the entire process was amazing. I felt no pain what's so ever , she was very quick , and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The right side of my teeth feel 10 years younger and I'm excited to come back and get my oral health back in control. When I checked with my insurance company, I found out this office was no longer in my insurance network. The office staff never informed me that they had stopped accepting my insurance. Be careful and always check with your insurance company before your appointment. They won't necessarily tell you that they are out of network until after your treatment is completed.

TLDR: you will want to have this place be your dentist…read more Let me start by saying, before Dr. Holz I hated going to the dentist. I did not have the best dental hygiene growing up which has compounded into a mouth that needs a lot of work. Previous dentists I went to made this seem insurmountable and it was too overwhelming and I ultimately would give up every time. Dr. Holz did the opposite of that. In my initial consult with him on 9/20/2021 he also explained that my mouth was in really bad condition, but he took the time to explain how we could systemically approach it and what needed to be taken care of right away and what could wait for the future. He also did not judge me when I shed a few tears over how overwhelming it all was. 1.5 years later, 6 teeth pulled, 4 crowns, 10+ fillings (I was able to not need some over time which was great), 14 visits later I am still as happy as I am that first visit. Every visit to the office is dare I say fun. Everyone at the office works together to take care of you so that you have the best experience. I had some complications from the teeth being pulled that required lots of coordination and the front office stepped in and made sure everything was taken care of so that I could focus on what I needed to. Also Dr. Holz and the different assistants explain every step of the way what they are doing so that I never have to wonder what that weird sound is in my mouth. Also, Dr. Holz is the best at numbing I have ever experienced. The experience is top notch while you are in the chair is also top notch. The massage chairs and televisions with Netflix and disney+ are a wonderful added bonus that help distract you when you have longer treatments. I could continue to go on and on with how much this location has changed my life but I will leave you with this, 1.5 later I've finally moved out of the first phase of treatment and get to begin on the optional parts of my treatment, and I have never enjoyed my smile more. It was in 3D with color. I was a bit skeptical because of my experience at sage dental but they said not to worry. After going over some of my goals for my smile I felt so relaxed. The dentist understood everything and answered all of my questions. After that I got to relax and watch my show on Netflix because they had TVs mounted on the ceiling while you get your cleaning done. Now the cleaning was such a peaceful moment. Even though I explained that she was still in pain, he refused to examine her mouth. He stated that, in his opinion, there was nothing else he could do and even suggested that we should go to a dentist who spoke Spanish. From the moment he walked into the room, I noticed his discomfort and lack of willingness to help, so I have no doubt that the reason he did not want to treat us properly was because we are Latina. When we went to another dentist, they immediately identified what my mother actually had and explained the treatment she needed, which is still ongoing because it is a deeper issue--not the "everything is fine, I don't see anything" we were told at this place. Additionally, the X-rays we were given could not be used, as we were told they were taken with outdated equipment that made it difficult to clearly see the condition of the tooth. In conclusion, I do not recommend this place. It is not a place where they truly care about the patient or provide professional and respectful care.

Dr. Roca-Mendro conducted a thorough examination, great chair side manner, listened to my concerns and addressed them all with empathy and compassion. She put me at ease regarding my possible treatment and took the time to answer questions and explain her reasonings. The office is beautiful and clean. The rooms are peaceful. The issues began before my wife's appointment with Kimmie in the front office. She insisted our insurance wouldn't cover the CBCT scan because "my wife already had one this year." We told her that was my claim, not my wife's. Instead of checking properly, she argued with us for nearly 10 minutes, suggesting the other dentist billed incorrectly or that we just didn't remember. I ended up calling the insurance myself and then doing a three-way call with the insurance agent, who confirmed that the benefits were available for my wife. The agent also made it clear that Kimmie only looked online and did not check the correct channels to get accurate information. When my wife finally saw Dr. Ryan, she wasn't given any options -- just told "here's what needs to be done," shown a cartoon diagram of the procedure, and then redirected to other issues she wasn't even there for. He claimed her gums were "super inflamed" and that she had "tons of plaque," which was confusing because she had been seen by her regular dentist just two weeks prior and received a clean bill of health. To make matters worse, a second periodontist confirmed just days later that her gums were healthy. This makes the service seem sketchy and our right "sellsy". Next issue: getting antibiotics for an implant-tooth infection on a Friday morning. The receptionist (not the doctor) told my wife it "wasn't the implant" and acted like she didn't need antibiotics at all -- again, giving medical advice with no evaluation. This level of care -- or lack thereof -- is unacceptable. I work in the medical field. I know how insurance works. Our office always verifies benefits, but this office seems to place everything on the patient to figure out. When presenting the treatment plan, they openly said they didn't call insurance but "they'll pay something, so you'll just be excited when they do." Meanwhile, they required 35% up front, which could easily be more than what we actually owe -- leaving us to fight for a refund later. That is absolutely not how a practice should operate. We will never return and cannot recommend this office to anyone.
