When I loved a place, I really love it and become loyal to it. My first time at Charmers Nails, they took me as a walk-in to which I am grateful for. However, as I continue on going here with appointments, they seem to disappoint every time. I never felt valued as a customer, although I am generous w/ them, I'm sure just like their other customers. Stacy would always tell me there are no openings each time I call. First, my review is not based on their services. They do a great job for a reasonable price. It is based on the fact that they charge a surcharge for using a credit card. CA Civil Code 1748.1 forbids that. The owner tried to tell me that it is because they don't charge tax. Huh? I tried to understand what she meant, but was unclear because credit cards vs cash has nothing to do with tax. Services are NOT taxable in CA, as they are not "tangible" goods, so they shouldn't charge tax at all. I'm sure the other ladies in there think I'm a real witch. I can afford the $1.00, but it's the principal. Also, I had to tip the woman that did my pedi less, cause I didn't have enough cash, and it's not her fault. Many nail salons do this, and I don't go back to those that do. I even asked her if it was worth losing a return customer over $1.00. Apparently it is. read more

Christine did a very good job in letting me know that my patronage of this salon was not welcome or appreciated. I have watched her greet clients with enthusiasm, respect, and kindness. Unfortunately, those sentiments were not offered to me. I made an appointment for a repaint due to chipped polish on the pedicure I received a few days prior. I arrived for my appointment. As I sat in my car to exchange my shoes, Christine aggressively walked to my car and basically told me to hurry up. She accused me of causing the polish to chip. She made it very clear that I was not deserving of her time in addressing a simple fix. Regardless if this problem was caused by me or the initial application, did not warrant such nasty unprofessional behavior. I will not support this business again. read more

Wish I could give Zero stars this place sucks I took my daughter today I got a pedicure she got a manicure/pedicure. They were in a rush, half assed everything, she didn't even get a massage, our nails are uneven and mine are cut way to short, it was very painful they dug to much and to fast, didn't use cuticle oil or any cuticle remover, our toes are already sore, I could tell they weren't sanitized items. so gross first and last till I'll go there! I love this place! Found them by accident while running errands in the area. They took both me and my daughter on a Saturday with no appointment, even though they were booked. They took prompt care of us, even having someone come back from their break early to help! Everyone was so friendly and all the customers talked to each other and the staff like they were old friends. They offered nail art without being asked and created little works of art on our toes. I will be making the effort to drive to Glendora from Monrovia just to get my mani/pedi here. Oh....and they do a great eyebrow wax as well! They deserve a much higher rating on yelp!! I'm writing this review on behalf of my mom who was a loyal customer for years, she brought several friends to this salon. They refused service to her because she has an auto immune disorder called vitiligo, they technician was rude and embarrassed her. Vitiligo is not a disease it's nothing that someone can catch from my mom. Clearly the people who work here are ignorant and rude. I came here once with her, and my nails looked like sh*t. I was so disgusted with the uncleanliness here that I reported them to the California Barber and Cosmetology Board. They sent me a follow up letter stating that they found several violations. They used the implements without cleaning/sanitizing them between customers. That was my main concern. All the girls there with the exception of Tina have an attitude issue, especially Katie. I haven't been there since I reported them. I found a much better place on Rte 66.
