This is my go-to cab company for ALL of my business trips. The guys are all patient and friendly and the cabs are always clean and well-maintained, so it's always a comfortable ride. Thank you, Charity Cab! They also donate $1 to charity for each ride, hence living up to their company name. What I love most is that I can text the company to schedule a pick up, and I always get a response within minutes. I think Rhett the owner is the one who responds and even responded to me in the middle of his Thanksgiving dinner with family. I live in Dublin, and they've driven me to SFO, SJC, and OAK, and I trust them to be on time so I make my flight. I try to be punctual, and they are always the ones waiting for me. Okay so this review is wayyy overdue (sorry Rhett)... I have been riding with Charity Cab consistently for almost a year now... probably over 100 times. That alone should tell you exactly what I think of them. Calling them a cab company is a slight undersell. Think of them as a limo service with "Charity Cab" written on the sides of the cars, and prices that match those of DeSoto and Yellow Cab. PROS: - Impressive punctuality - Total professionalism - Very amicable fellas - Incredibly clean vehicles - They take cash AND card - 24 hour service - Not DeSoto or Yellow Cab CONS: - The vehicles do not fly - No "We Brake For Nobody" stickers on vehicles - Joseph refuses to go over 120 mph on Dublin Blvd Oh and these guys actually drove my keys all the way back to Pleasanton from Oakland one time when I accidentally left them in the cab. Needed a cab in Dublin at 11:30pm. Called a few other companies that either answered and hung up, sent me to voicemail, or just rang and rang. Rhett, the owner, answered first ring. I only needed to go 3 miles to my destination and asked if there was a minimum charge. He said no minimum charge and could pick me up in 10min. I didn't think he would be interested for such a small distance. I was wrong! Rhett was on time and is very professional with a clean ride. Received a confirmation call from Rhett the evening prior to my ride. Rhett was on time. His cab was a clean late model mini van which was well lit. Rhett was super friendly. He uses traffic enabled GPS ensuring the shortest most efficient way to your destination. The GPS is large and easily viewed from the backseat. Rhett is local, he lives and works in the TriValley. I needed a ride from home in Pleasanton to the BART station to get my car (long story) on a weeknight at 8:30 PM. I literally called 6 cab companies, who gave me responses from "I'm at SFO" to "We're in Walnut Creek." (but advertising service in the entire San Ramon Valley). The dispatcher/driver/owner of Charity Cab said, "We'll be there in 20 minutes." He was, a great feat, considering I'm inside an apt. complex, and every other cab driver I've had got lost for at least 10 minutes with the same directions I gave Charity Cab. The cabs are brand-spankin' new, and they ride like a dream. I love the tech in the van: an iPad running Waiz for GPS, RoamPay for CC payments (you sign your sig. with your finger and swipe a slider switch to indicate the tip!). Plus, the dispatcher/driver/owner is a real bootstrap success story: he lived in his cab for 3 months while getting his business off the ground (he's in an apt. now). I just had to give the guy the max tip and a shout-out on Yelp! On the back of the front passenger seat is the list of non-profits that the $1.00 from every fare goes to. They're all cool. read more
