The food was outstanding, packed with flavour in every bite. The platters were generous and perfect for sharing, and the chef's signature dish was an absolute standout. Big portions, amazing taste, and even better servicew, will definitely be back

The dip trio (skordalia, smoked eggplant and smoked capsicum) were excellent, we also shared spanakopita and the lamb souvlaki that was cooked perfectly, and served with the most delicious duck fat potatoes, pita and tzatziki. So I had heard mixed reviews about burger foundry, the only reason I went was I had a concert (city…read moreand colour wooo woo dallas green) at Thebby and needed some food! Cute little place, perfect amount of seating, good prices, I decided I was epicly hungry, so I ordered the Berenburger, which was a beef patty, beetroot, egg, bacon and heck knows what other goodness but it was huge, I need spice so added chipotle to my burger. Sweet potato fries with aioli always a must anywhere on the side... Then my epic burger arrived, half way through eating it I realised the chipotle chilli's were actually sundried chipotles, they were the tastiest mini mouth explosion ever. It made the whole burger. The meat was not over cooked, no gristle, no junk, it was smooth and full of flavour. The only reason i removed one star is because when a franchise or a business has another location the other location should match in quality and a week after visiting this site i needed my hit and went to the Magill one and things just weren't the same. Final note: If there is a chilli option, no matter what it is, hot sauce, chilli's whatever, always opt to add it!

Metro Oyster Bar, in my opinion, wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The only thing I really tried…read morewere the oysters since, it is, in fact, an OYSTER bar. I love oysters, but I have to say that Metro Oyster Bar did not meet my expectations. For some reason, their oysters were really salty-- far too salty for my liking, which may have been what they were going for, but I was not a fan. One of the waiters seemed quite reluctant to serve us, like he hated his job, but the other one was friendly, attentive, and joked around with us quite a bit. I quite enjoyed her as our server. There isn't much more I can say about this place other than how I felt it was completely average. The prices were a little on the higher end (which is, of course, to be expected), the servers are 50/50 (you may get one who hates their job and seems reluctant to serve you, but you also may get one who loves interacting with people), and the food is pretty average. Overall, I wouldn't complain about this place, but I don't know if I would recommend it.

Adelaide has plenty of Greek restaurants and its hard to rate this place its up with the rest but feel the menu needs to be a little refined every dish came out with chips which made food protons a lot. This late dinner was overall very relaxing even though we came in off the street so had to sit outside but we enjoyed a cooling breeze after one of Adelaides hot summer days. Service was friendly and competent with a very welcoming host - it was almost as if the whole place had just been transplanted from Greece. A medium sized bar with some interesting Greek craft beers. Definitely will be back for a more extensive review. Recommend booking a few weeks in advance as it is small. An update: we returned mid week for dinner and were treated to warm and friendly service again! This time we had beef shoulder and the traditional lamb and beef patties. The shoulder was the highlight smothered with delicious tomatoes and sitting on a very tasty sauce. Our entree was the octopus cooked in wine - succulent! Not tough at all which I think is a sign of good octopus cooking? Salad was very interesting lentil and pomegranate - also yum. Desert was a spongey chocolate tart and reminded me of those self saucing puddings, except it was way more delicious. Drinks were a Greek ipa and the Greek alpha red which reminded me of the reds in southern France. Coffee was excellent.

Smile-worthy stuff. It sets the scene for this modest eatery in the very un-Greek suburb of Hawthorn, in the very un-restaurant-like location of being attached to a Caltex. "Oils ain't oils" as they say, so if you want the good oil on this joint look toward it's picture board - a wall of photos capturing characters who have wined and dined and wined here before. It gives further insight into the humble and fun nature of the place. Smiling Chef Sam Antoniou is found in the kitchen with parents Toula and Peter. They all wield cheeky senses of humour, upping the enjoyment ante of your visit. Ultimately you've come for their food. The best way to tackle it in these family-type digs is to hoard some friends around an Astros banquet. The "Apollo" includes chicken yiros and calamari; adventure into the "Poseidon" and tiropites (cheese triangles), lamb yiros and whitebait await; or brace yourself for the "Zeus" and be further fortified with Greek sausages and prawns. There's a takeaway menu, outdoor tables and car parks at that Caltex. Plonk wise it's licensed but the corkage too is a little cheeky so perhaps play "when in Rome" or Greece as it were with the wine list and try some vino tipples from the homeland.

The setting is suburban to the max and. as Roz said it's very un-glamorously attached to a servo. In true Australian-Greek style, all the mains are served with chips and Pita which are delicious, but they very obligingly leave either, or both off for me if I ask . I suffer from the eat-everything-on-your-plate disease so I sometimes do this to save myself from mostrous serves. This means I'm left to tackle the chicken breast as big as my head and generous salad, which to be honest is probably more than I can handle in itself! They do a bunch of my Greek faves... whitebait, saganaki, meatballs, kalamari and a bunch of others as entrees or mezze. The mains boast every type of souvlaki or yiros, along with moussaka, mix grill, selection of fish, prawns, or even quail.

Gabe was fantastic, walking us through the drink menu and answering our questions about various dishes. Between us we tried three local beers. The chicken liver parfait, $7 each was devine. Think French pastry choux filled with a light fluffy pâté instead of custard. Mmmm. The 500 gram ribeye for $95 with three sides was more than plenty for one and east to share. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tender. The crushed potatoes over sour cream, delicious. A nicely dressed salad of fresh greens, light. The broccolini interestingly seasoned. The entire meal was wonderful and incredibly filling. I would absolutely return on my next trip back. Short distance from hotel, so I can comment on parking. Gabe
