Eh. Wasn't the best go around at Chap's on a Friday evening. We were seated at the high tops and the service wasn't the best. Plates not cleared on time, waitstaff was delayed or confusing at times. I have enjoyed visiting chaps while in town visiting family for many years. I visited twice on this trip home to have meals and catch up with local friends. First day had blackened fish tacos. They were flavorful and good. Second visit was a 4pm visit. Very disappointed they didn't have happy hour. I still had a beer and salmon with double broccoli (no pilaf). It was all very good. Beer selection is great... but lacking happy hour, I was not enticed to relax for a second beer. read more

I tried my friend's wings with boom boom sauce and mozzarella sticks which were also tasty. I ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread and cheesesteak egg rolls. Although they were tasty, there could be some adjustments. The buffalo chicken flatbread could use more hot sauce and blue cheese/ranch. The cheesesteak rolls could also use more cheese. Chaps was my go-to after moving to the area maybe 7 years ago. Good craft beer selection, high quality, tasty food and close to the house. Service was never great at the high tables (ranged from average, to get up and leave after 30 minutes because the server didn't return to take our order) but sitting at the bar was always a good experience. I've been going progressively less because food and drink quality are not the same these days and service at the tables is as bad or worse. Compared with other establishments that charge a card fee, Chaps is highest I've experienced (6%). For comparison, cocktails at Miller's Ale House cost less, have a better presentation and taste better. Service is terrific and I don't think there is a card fee. read more

My mother and I ordered take out. Cathy was great in the phone. She was so nice, and professional. She handled our order and it all came out fairly quick. I will definitely be ordering take out from them more often. At first I thought that were this bar atmosphere, turns out they are way more than that! Cheesesteak Egg Rolls- nice and crispy. Perfectly wrapped. I could always use more cheese. Ha! The dipping sauce was great. Crispy Chicken Sandwich- Amazing! I could have used a thinner piece of chicken. The mustard sauce was fantastic. Plenty of TVs to watch a few different games which is nice. We ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls which were decent and the chicken potstickers which were good. Maybe should have stuck to the appetizers. My dad and I got the "Porchetta" lol. This was NOT porchetta. It was pulled or shredded pork shoulder with no flavor. Could have used garlic, rosemary, fennel seed, black pepper and other spices which r used for porketta. It was so dry even with the small cup of juice they give you. It seemed as if it was leftover from days before and just trying to get used up. My mom had a cup of "Italian wedding soup" - again this is a joke. It was a beef broth with nothing but some greens in it. No meatballs, pasta or other ingredients that r used in the soup - chicken broth is what should be used - I've never seen beef broth used in this soup. I won't be going back. Sad bc the wings and onion soup looked good. Not sure I could even trust a burger here. read more

The meat was very juicy (see video) and the roll held up very well. Meat was juicy and flavorful but there needed to be a lot more of it. Cheese felt nonexistent. The Mushrooms were heavenly!! I went here with a companion. It's a sports bar with a dining room. We were immediately seated in a booth. The server quickly brought us drinks then took our order. The food arrived in a timely manner. I had the tender roast beef on a Conshohocken roll with sharp provolone. Wow, the roll was so fresh. The beef and cheese mixed well. So I decided to review and point out all the things I've been taking for granted with this nice bar: -- Awsome selection of beer. Definitely above average for a neiborhood bar! -- Great daily specials. On BOTH food and drinks. -- It's a great place for groups and gatherings. -- Great deal for Super Bowl -- free buffet during half time plus other specials. Went last night there were 8 of us and we made reservations. We were very well taken care of, all our entrees were great and we all felt super safe with social distancing. I can not even count the number of times I have been here. It is my favorite little local place. The food and drink specials during happy hour are unbeatable. Try the delicious $1 tacos and $4 margs on thursday! The drinks are always well made with the right amount of alcohol. I have tried most of the food menu as well. The crab cakes here are probably the best in town. Filled with huge chunks of lump crab and hardly any filler; they are broiled perfectly rather than battered and fried or overcooked. Also love the corned beef special or reuben. The rye bread is delicious and you cannot beat Mr. Ron's cole slaw. Other tasty sandwiches include the roast beef dip, cajun chicken, and cheesesteaks. I have never ordered any, but my friends love the $5 burgers on Wednesdays. As far as appetizers, the fries here are great. They are so crispy and tasty, they must be double-fried. Try them as original or crab fries and you won't be disappointed. On a lighter side, the salads here are also very yummy. The ingredients always seem fresh. My favorites are the mediterranean or asian chicken salads. The half-size is plenty even for a dinner. The only thing lacking here is the service which isn't always prompt. It's understandable when it is busy but when you need something and see your server standing around chatting with co-workers, that gets a bit annoying. read more
