This place has quite the reputation, as I hear the who's who of celebs come here to have a great time. I hear Sunday is the day to be here..FYI We came here on a Saturday afternoon and had a blast! The place to be is their outside area in the back. Drinks and hookah make for a good time out there. They have a lovely group of young ladies working the space to get you food, drinks, etc... The inside is nice as well...a good space! TVs all around so its a good space to catch some sports. Its a good vibe here!
Came out for a Sunday with the guys and we ended up here. Parking is $20 unless you find street parking. Entry is $23 with a card and no hats are allowed. There wasn't much for seating unless you bought a section and the staff isn't the most pleasant. The price of the drinks changed based on which bar I ordered from which didn't make sense. This isn't somewhere I would recommend but everyone has their preferences.

We hosted the event on the private side of Chapman & Kirby and and was glad that we did. The ambience of the establishment was very nice like a typical upscale bar, the vibe fit just for the occasion. I ordered the millionaire variation cocktail and drink those all night. I had about three of them and I loved it. It wasn't too strong. It wasn't too sweet. It was a perfect cocktail for me hence why I ordered three. For food, Choices I ordered some egg rolls. I can't remember the exact name of the eggrolls, but they were pretty good a little spicy for me but overall very good for lounge food. Now that I think of it, they kind of reminded me of the southwest eggrolls at Chili's. Overall, my experience here was very good. I will be coming back with another group of friends and not for a high school reunion event but overall it was a nice experience.

I wish the mimosa towers were bottomless but it's big enough for 4 rounds for 4 people, a decent size. Everyone had good energy and southern charm like I expected. Vibes were immaculate. Next time I visit, this is a must! What they say? Never leave Houston on Sunday!!

Our service was actually great and the food was so good! The catfish and grits was perfect and the French toast and chicken tenders were so good together. The only thing that made me a little sad was that my espresso martini didn't come in a martini glass (first world problems)

The price point was fair but note this is a tourist type of place but it's known by the locals at the same time. I definitely had a great time but wish we could've got a table.

Houston doesn't miss when it comes to great food. This food was right on par with the catfish and grits. It was very flavorful and filling. The drinks were also good . It was very busy for Sunday brunch but the service was still good and the staff were great. The music for brunch was a real old school vibe. I suggest checking it out when in this area
Attended the Queen Brunch and it was a fun time. The space was set up well for performances and eating. The buffet brunch was very good. I was self serve and I got my fill. The servers were on it with the drinks. They give you a chance to make change which I didn't know but was glad so you can tip. The performers were funny, beautiful and talented. It was a one time experience for me but I'm glad I went.
Chapman & Kirby! Was a good night out to end my trip! It was very nice and the dj was awesome! This is the spot to go to on a Saturday night and brunch Sundays is fun! It's very spacious inside and you can get a bottle/section if you want. I had a great time here did not want to leave. I did not try the food but it the options look good and they are known for a good brunch. I recommend here if you want to have a good time and enjoy yourself in Houston put it in your bookmark. Parking is scan and pay and can be $12-30 depending on how long you stay. The lot is right across the street from restaurant. -Marshay D.
I usually only leave 5-star reviews, but my experience at Chapman and Kirby was very disappointing. I came with a party of six, and we were visiting from out of town. It was raining, and we were seated at the only table without a tent. We were told the tent was broken and there was no backup. Everyone else had covered seating, but no one made any effort to accommodate us so we could eat or drink comfortably. To make matters worse, they kept our deposit even though they made no attempt to provide proper service. You would think a group of out-of-town guests would be treated with more care, but that wasn't the case. Poor customer service and definitely not what I expected.

This place is all about the vibe-- not the food. The brunch menu is extremely limited, everything is fried, and there are zero gluten‑free options. I paid $28 for two eggs and six shrimp, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity, which didn't feel like a great value. The live band, though, was fantastic. They carried the whole experience with a neo‑soul twist on different genres. The outdoor tents helped with the Texas sun, and the hookah added to the lounge feel. The DJs for the day party were just okay. Lots of repeated songs, transitions that didn't quite land, and not much crowd engagement compared to other places we've been. If you want a fun atmosphere and good music, you'll enjoy it. If you're going for the food or the DJ experience, you might leave underwhelmed read more

Food was on point!! I came with a group of 7 and we all had great dishes. Didn't know on Sundays it turned into a day party, but I'm not from around the area. Overall I had a great experience. The only thing I would say is the parking situation was a little off getting there. read more

Houston doesn't miss when it comes to great food. This food was right on par with the catfish and grits. It was very flavorful and filling. The drinks were also good . It was raining, and we were seated at the only table without a tent. We were told the tent was broken and there was no backup. Everyone else had covered seating, but no one made any effort to accommodate us so we could eat or drink comfortably. Chapman & Kirby let us know, "Never leave Houston on a Sunday!" And our flight was at 8am on Sunday, haha. My friend and I made a reservation online for around 7pm on a Saturday. We were actually the first people in the restaurant which was fine was us. We were greeted by the bartender who was also our waiter, very nice man. Great service. The restaurants aesthetics are on point! Even the bathroom is nice; and you HAVE to take a photo before entering. We started off with two tequila shots as the night was just beginning. They have a pretty good cocktail list and prices are fairly cheap. For food, we ordered with their bang bang shrimp, mac and cheese, fries and caesar salad. I love a bar with good food! Music was playing in the background and wasn't too loud so you can still have a conversation. My friend and I sat and chatted for a good 2+ hours before we decided to visit nearby bars. When we're back in Houston, we will make sure to visit on a SUNDAY and take a flight back home on a Tuesday! read more

Brunch & Sunday Funday If you're coming for brunch - make reservations. Two hour limit on your reservation & they keep to it if it's really busy. Food and Drinks may be a bit overpriced but still good! I had the chicken and waffles, my friends had the Caesar salad with salmon, catfish and grits, and shrimp and grits. No complaints about our food. We did also order some fries and they were good. Brunch vibe was pretty good but stay longer for Sunday funday and you will definitely enjoy yourself. read more

I have visited this location twice for Sunday brunch, and so far I like it! The restaurant has a mature crowd and good music . It's a nice vibe and the food is decent. I've only ordered the pepperoni flatbread (which is an entire pizza by the way, don't let the name fool you) and it is delicious. Greasy, just FYI, but good and fresh. My husband has ordered the chicken and waffles both times. The first visit, he didn't really mention anything about the food. The second visit, he mentioned that the waffles tasted like freezer. I will say that the first time we went, our reservation was at noon, which is the earliest time available. The second time, our reservation was at 3:00 p.m., which is an hour before the end of brunch. My pizza was consistent both times. I highly recommend reservations. I don't know if you would be able to be seated without one. It's a nice size establishment, but they have more of a party table setup for large groups, which takes up most of the seating. Drinks are strong and good. On our first visit after our 2-hour reservation was up, we found seats at the bar and were able to catch the rest of a Texans game. TVs are everywhere inside, there is no bad seat from the dining room to the bar. They take up all chairs at the bar around 4:00 p.m. after brunch and then it turns into more of a day party with a live DJ. Street parking is free. I had no issues finding somewhere to park either time. It gets packed on their outside patio, so be sure to walk around before leaving if you're seated inside and want to catch the full vibe of their infamous Sunday funday. The only thing I don't like is that they don't do receipts when dining!! I am confused as to why establishments are now using iPad devices. I don't know what you're charging me for. The second visit I found out I was charged for water service. They have a water carafe with glasses set up on the table for you upon arrival, and I'm assuming that is what it was for? Idk if it was charged the first visit. I would just give a heads up on asking about any hidden fees. They do include 20% gratuity, but service is pretty good enough to uptip. This establishment definitely deserves more than 3 stars.. I was told that I needed to attend Sunday brunch here, and I was a Sunday Funday for sure!! We (group of 4) had a 12:00 reservation. Glad we arrived early because the line was already beginning to form outside.. Although I was very impressed with everything overall, the food & drinks really had my mind blown! Their brunch menu is just the right variety. Shrimp & grits was on point. Catfish & grits was on point. Truffle parmesan fries were even a great addition. And something about that mimosa carafe was different (in a good way)! Very happy that this was our final stop on our Houston tour. We came here on a Sunday ( MLK Weekend) with a large group of 10. I strongly suggest making a reservation and paying extra to be seated inside . Especially if your coming on Sunday evening or when it's cold. The vibe was great the music was poppin, we had a great time. The waitresses were all cute and provided good customer service . It was a vibe . We actually came for brunch and came back Sunday evening for the real turn up. The breakfast tacos were trash. The shrimp & grits were fire . The mimosa tower was good we had about 6, definitely recommend getting that . The lines for the woman's bathroom were outrageous , don't wait till the last minute. I had to knock a star down. While our food and the vibe is what it was since the first I went , I get better service at the bar than at the table. Marshay as sweet as she was , was not attentive at all. She never asked us if we needed anything else, no notice of telling us when our food was coming out . She tried to serve us plastic cups with an $85 mimosa tower and we had to get glasses from another waitress along with other things . She mostly hung out in the front by the front door . Very disappointing to say the least but what can I expect when you're automatically charged 20% tip, then you don't have to work for it . read more
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we were seated outside initially. The vibes were nice but the FLIES (the large ones) were terrible. We were swatting from the time we sat down until we got up to go inside (2+ hours). It really put a damper on the outing as we couldn't enjoy our food or drinks. On the flip side, the music is decent and drinks are good. The blackened shrimp salad was good (the small bites I was able to eat) but we literally had to put our food in to-go boxes to keep the flies out.... they were EVERYWHERE. read more

Yes. This is a perfect place to celebrate they offer outdoor dining that's more of a day party. Inside has a live DJ with great music selections.

Yes. Thursdays nights are my favorite because it's happy hour all day. No dj but they have music.

Saturday nights are the the nights you need to show up a little early. The atmosphere at Chapman & Kirby is always stellar but Saturday night is the best
