Ordered take out from this place and it was absolutely awful. The food did not taste good, everything was drowned in nasty sauce, and the shrimp was not cleaned well. There was also a lovely hair in my food... will not order again....

General Tsos drenched in sauce
Miranda R.

A friend told me prior from ordering here 'their food is disgusting'. I like to try things for myself a so on a quest to find the best General Tsos chicken in my area I decided to try Chan's via Doordash on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, my friend was right. I'm not really a fan. The dish was DRENCHED with a less than tasty sauce - usually General Tsos is a little sweet. This sauce was tart - not sure what was added. The chicken was very tough and cut in a variety of sizes which was strange. Must have been severely over cooked to be that tough. This dish instantly gave me heartburn - and General Tsos is my go-to meal and usually doesn't. I didn't even like the egg roll. Needless to say, this place puts a spin on traditional chinese flavors and you may or may not like it. It's a no for me.

Really good gala food, fast service, Friendly staff and fair price. I'll recommend this place.

Our food was awesome, my husband ordered a lg general tso's chicken. I ordered the chicken egg foo young. Hands down the best Chinese food ever!! For myself, I haven't ate Chinese food in over 15 yrs since before we found Chan's. The 1 and only Chinese food I will eat from now on, not to mention the fast delivery, our food was literally here 25 minutes after I ordered on a Saturday!! Thanks Chan's!!

Today, we visited this restaurant in Philadelphia. We drove from New Jersey to come here not a very inviting welcome. Almost, borderline rude this place will never get anymore of my money!! If proved you shouldn't go to places you follow on Instagram. Not sure how the food is as of yet didn't taste it yet. Just put off by the vibe!! The lady at covered in longs and scratching her hair. A worker comes in she working in her coat topping food, packing food.. WTH once we finally got our food my husband checked the bag to make sure all our food was in there, It started to leak out everywhere no came over they saw the mess. When, I asked for more bags because it was leaking bad he said what kind of bags...... They customer service suck assssss, we drove from NJ just to come here. What a terrible experience..

I do recommend making a reservation as they can be pretty slammed on Fridays/weekends. The Srirachi wings had a nice crunch to them while still keeping the chicken juicy inside. It would've been nice to have an even amount of wings to drumsticks though, as I like flats more, but thats just a personal preference. The crabmeat fried rice was amazing, a really good portion of chunks of crabmeat mixed in so each spoonful had some. The duck curry was a "Grandma's special" so a much bigger portion and cost - but reasonable. The duck wasnt dry and had a good flavor throughout, not relying on the curry to give taste. The curry also had a hint of sweetness to it which complements the greasiness of the duck. The papaya salad felt very refreshing - we got it at level one as to not overpower our taste buds with all the other food. I did get some chili pepper on the side to add in later. My one recommendation is having Thai peppers as an option instead of dried chili flakes. I much prefer the taste of fresh Thai pepper to add the extra heat. The mango sticky rice is always a favorite. The mango is soft and ripe, the right amount of sweetness. They also mix pandan in with the sticky rice for a more impactful umami (Im also a big advocate for pandan in desserts).

Finally got to try Grandma's after hearing about it for so long, and I completely get the hype now…read more Everything we ordered was SO good. The mango sticky rice, curry dishes, drunken noodles, crispy puffs... honestly, 10/10 across the board. And the drinks were amazing too! I was also really impressed by the vegetarian options. The tofu was delicious, and there were so many things I'd happily order again. Portions are generous, too. It is a little tight inside and definitely gets busy, even during lunch and I do think it's a little on the pricier side. But for me, the food makes up for it. This feels like one of those local spots you're glad you finally tried and immediately start thinking about what you're ordering next time. Definitely a 10/10 for me. Would absolutely come back and recommend!

I appreciate surayas mint in particular, it's less egregious than other mints, and most importantly, they are whole leafs! easy to pick out. the labneh is perfectly amazing on its own. I will say, if I could have it my way, i'd nix the tomatoes, and replace with the tiny skinny peppers they include in the pickles and olives side dish. i'd also include a bit more oil, as the spread is actually quite thick. and more seasoning for the same reason. if you're on a date, especially early into dating, beware of spices in your teeth. check constantly while eating this. Traditional Hummus: Delicious. amazing. much thinner spread, but also more surface area. the oil and seasoning go a longer way in this one. no notes absolutely stunning. Pita: thinner than some other places, delicious, FRESH, hot, comes with one per person. truthfully, one was enough, and I usually order two at other places. Side Dish Pickles and Olives: This dish includes both green and purple olives, tiny thin green spicy peppers, and sliced pickles. The green olives are pitted, and my favorite. they are so good on a hummus pita bite. the purple olives were not pitted, and did not come with an extra empty dish to empty the pits into. I didn't try these as I don't like purple olives. or pits. at least in public. the peppers were AMAZING! not too spicy. but definitely spicy. great with the labneh. I think my dish only came with five. would love more! and then the pickles are sliced vertically in halves, not too acidic. I *think* key word *THINK* they are fermented and not traditionally pickled. so, they won't taste the same as a regular pickle most people are used to. I still love them. this dish overall is $6 and very worth the price in my opinion. easy to share for the table. Green Salad: this salad is quite similar to a traditional fattoush salad if you're familiar. I have a few things with this. Mint was abundant. if you don't like mint, i'm not saying don't get it, but it's noteworthy. I picked around the mint since they were whole leafs thankfully. the bottom of the plate is covered in an herb yogurt, the lettuces and such are coated in a vinaigrette. the vegetables are seasonal, it's October 2nd and we had watermelon radish, cucumbers, tomatoes, some onions. im not really sure if I would get this again, especially for the price. people liked the eggs on top. I liked the radishes and cucumbers. I love a fresh bite. but not necessary. Cauliflower Sandwich: Definitely shareable. comes with sumac fries, an aioli, a separate vinaigrette for the wrap itself. the wrap is cut in halves. inside it's hard to tell exactly what's inside. there is a sumac fry inside. cauliflower obviously. not really sure what else. absolutely delicious though. I love this one and it's a great option for a vegetarian. Orange Blossom Iced Tea: VERY GOOD. I would like some simple syrup with it but VERY GOOD. the orange blossom really comes through. Pistachio Rose Cronut situation: DELICIOUS! The service is attentive and efficient. most sections are thoughtfully stocked with their own water stations and such so that the servers can tend towards the customers better. I appreciate that little detail. the kitchen staff looks like a well oiled machine. everything seems to run very smooth in this establishment. And inside is particularly pretty.

I was surprised at the price but the sandwich is so big we really could have split one but ordering two left us they both. The beef is so tender it reminded me of chinese beef stew for some reason. It's a nice place with just a couple of booths inside. Originally I was only going to give it 4 stars cuz the way it's set up is weird when they tell you where to stand and where to go...it just didn't feel warm and inviting when you walk in but honestly when I'm in philly again I will make it a point to stop by so that makes it a 5 in my book.

Each table has three sauces. There is the white sauce, and a red and green sauce. The white sauce is good - like a mix between ranch and tzitzaki. The green sauce is minty, and the red one is spicy. I was really happy with the lamb. It was very tender and flavorful. It also came hot out of the grill. It didn't have a "strong" lamb flavor and was slightly smoky. The rice was super fragrant. I think it had a lot of butter or oil so it felt moist, and the carrots/raisons inside were a nice touch. The food went really well with the three sauces. There was also a good cardamom flavor inside. The food came with a ciabatta-like fried bread. I recommend this restaurant
