Came to the fragrance boutique in the first floor not the second floor location that has all the Chanel product like bags etc. Was here to pick up men's deodorant and cologne. Kenny the assistant manager was extremely helpful, made great recommendations, provided great customer service and was outgoing. This is the kind of help you want when you are not sure and need advise. You usually can't get that at a department store like Macys as they work on commission. The security guard gave better service than the sales representative. Sales rep seemed very uninterested and almost awkward. This is based on my visit to this location last year and my experience in working in high-end luxury fashion for 10+ years. I absolutely love this brand and visited many locations in the states. By far, this location had the worst customer service. The entrance was not welcoming. The sales associate literally tapped on my hand to move it away from opening the Chanel tote bag I requested to see. After that My family and I just got up and left. It's sad to see an amazing brand brought down by poorly trained sales associates. I've had good experiences at this location in the past, so I was surprised how I was treated today. The store was mostly empty. Some people were exiting and as I was trying to enter the store, the store greeter/security held the door so I couldn't open it. He curtly stated (through a crack in the door) that they were at capacity and come back later. Then he just shut the door in my face. Uh rude. And no I will not be coming back to this location. Their customer service is horrible! You would expect the sales associates to be accommodating and respectful, but definitely not at this location. Don't ever work with Jerée Smyth. When you're conversing with her, she doesn't make eye contact with you once and seems very uninterested at anything you ask about. I never had a problem at other boutiques, but apparently you have only a couple of hours to make a purchase over the phone (waitlisted item), or it goes to the next client. I've always been given a timeframe, of a week, to come to the boutique and inspect the item, before charging my card. Take the time to go to New York to make a purchase. read more

Here's what happened. I ordered a huge order ( for me ) through Chanel.com that was a gift for my brother and other family members. The order show delivered and I kept looking for it at the leasing center and everywhere in the apartment complex. afterwards, I called the Customer service and asked for refunds since I didn't get the package and I will be out of town for a vacation and they told me they gonna look into that matter and will come back to me. Today I received an e-mail form them mentioning that they will not be able to process the refund since the order show delivered. How shame is that !!!!! This is the worst Chanel store I have ever shopped in. The customer service is a beyond horrible. I was treated so horrifically by the stores manager, Gretchen and employee Chai. Less than a month ago I purchased a pair of shoes from this location and the leather peeled after the first wear. I went in to see what could be done about the issue and she told me that it was my fault because my feet rub together when I walk. I couldn't believe that a manager of Chanel was talking to me this way. First of all, my feet do not rub together when I walk - I don't even think this is possible. Second, instead of looking for a solution to my problem she explained that even having the shoes on for 10 seconds could cause wear. I was flawed, Chanel prides itself on being a luxury brand, with an assurance of quality but this manager was straight up telling me that the $1,500 shoes I wore once and just purchased are low quality. Personally, I do not think Chanel should have someone like this representing their name. All of my bags are Louis Vuitton because I love the history and the quality of the bags. My first venture from the LV bags was going to be Chanel. I walked in there and a grumpy Naomi "helped" me. This was my first time in a Chanel store and I was so disappointed. I was ready to buy a classic flap purse in the pebble leather. She was so GRUMPY. Did I say grumpy? She just didn't seem like she wanted to be there or help me, I couldn't tell. I was talking to my husband about how the purses looked compared to my friends' Chanel purses and she simply replied "Um. All Chanel bags come with that." What a f-ing turn off. I honestly didn't want to buy anything Chanel at that point. Then afterwards I went into Dior and saw their amazing cannage stitching purses and fell in love with the black lambskin. Not only did they explain to me about the history and how Dior himself was inspired by the cannage stitching on his chairs which were once owned by Napoleon III. But they also went into telling me all of the quality assurances and were really kind to me. Guess who walked out of the Dior store with a bag that she completely loved? ME. When you run a freaking lux store - you expect quality service. Don't be a grump. All the customer wants is to really know about the product. It's a freaking investment and a piece of their collection. At least it is for me, I'm not buying just for fashion sake but to eventually one day pass these lovely things down to my future children. Jodi was great and provided great customer service. I initially purchased the old medium Chanel Boy bag. Then, decided that the new medium was an even better fit for me. I'm in love. When I went to do the exchange Craig helped me. I called twice before coming in to do the exchange within the 14 days allowed. The only conundrum was that I couldn't find my receipt. The first sales rep (wish I remembered her name) advised that I needed my receipt and would not be able to make any transactions/upgrades even though all of my information was in their system. Luckily, she had no clue what she was talking about. I took a chance and called again. I spoke with Craig. He completed my transaction in Jodi's absence. The second time I waited for a small window of time for someone to ask if they could help me although 90% of the reps were free. The two African American ladies looked me over a few times...not really sure what that was about. If I make another purchase in the future it will be with Jodi or Craig. read more

I don't understand all these negative reviews because I had a wonderful experience in this store. The SA that helped me was Kim and she was fabulous! I walked into the store and right away I was asked if I needed any help. Kim was very attentive and anticipated any of my questions and concerns. She gave me the pros and cons of each size and texture of the bags. She was very knowledgable. I ended up with the Chanel classic maxi flap bag with gold enamel handles in the lamb skin. I am so in love with it!!!! I know it's harder to take care of but I think it's worth it because I like the texture better than the caviar. They wrapped it up very nicely as well! I had a wonderful experience in this store. The staff was professional, efficient and knowledgeable. I was out of that store in like 20mins! I had a great experience at this store. Eric is one of the folks who helped me via the phone the day before. When I showed up the day after our initial discussion, he remembered me and apologized because he wasn't able to attend to me immediately due to having to service a client who arrived before me. However, he immediately assigned another SA, who took one look at my back and confirmed she had the part to fix it. I waited less for merely few minutes while my bag was being fixed. Other SA offered me drinks and help. By the time the drinks arrived, my bag was fixed!! Voila... I didn't get a chance to thank Eric for making it down ch a pleasant and top notch experience. My husband & I visited the store today, and while we've had positive experiences in the past, I found it necessary to write about the terrible experience I had today. I walked in, asked a SA to assist me with the watches when she had a chance, and she replied "okay, they start at $5,500". I was extremely put off by the fact that she led with the price - I understand how much the watches cost and actually own one in another color. She then went on to help another gentleman, who walked in after we did, and another SA came over to help us. That SA was very helpful, but at that point, I was so irritated, I had my mind made up that I would not be making a purchase. I'm not sure if it was our casual apparel, our race, our age, or just a fluke, but I found the service to be unacceptable. read more

This place is pretty awful. I went there twice...the first time I went in to purchase a beige clair flap, the place was pretty empty and nobody approached me or said hi to me. This boutique is receiving One star because Zero is not an option. I went in and inquired about a bag I had JUST seen in the Chanel boutique at the Neiman Marcus about 5 minutes prior. The SA (thin, younger, light skinned black woman) at this location told me the bag "does not exist." I didn't even bother correcting her. In addition, during the course of this ridiculous interaction, an older heavy set (maybe Italian?) SA was going through the book of names (waitlist, I assume) and was bad mouthing all the people on the list right in front of me: "Yeah, she's not going to buy anything." Professional, really. The treatment I received in this establishment was absurd. I am fully aware that I was underdressed but during this visit I was carrying the SAME Chanel bag I had purchased from this very same boutique. I was not carrying a Crocodile bag but it was not a WOC either. I was treated like dirt and I will never buy anything from this boutique again. The only courtesy I received was a smile from the security personnel by the door. By the way, I did returned to NM a few minutes afterwards and purchased this bad that did "not exist." read more

I am appalled and offended by the treatment I got at this store today. I have previously had to send back my Chanel espadrilles because the bamboo is literally peeling off. After 2 wears since being "refurbished" they were peeling AGAIN. So when I went to bring them back again, I told the manager how disappointed I was in the luxury brand and the quality of the shoe. The manager, Gretchen, immediately started blaming me and telling me I need to take care of "delicate" items. Then proceeded to turn the shoe over and say I was lying that they never been wore. However, I clearly stated I wore them just not to the extent that the shoe was completely falling apart. This woman was absolutely horrible and aggressive. Another woman checked me out, Bella I believe. I told her how upset I was at this treatment and she literally just didn't answer me. Pretended I wasn't there. THEN AS THE GRAND FINALE! I realize it isn't even up to them if the item is defected, they have to send it out for review. SO WHY the harassing about how I treat my items. Anyway what a horrible reflection of Chanel! This was my first Chanel purchase and I waited so long to buy these shoes that I admired for years. UPDATE:: since writing a review for this boutique the Store Director sent one of her salespeople to confront and intimidate me for providing feed back about how they choose to service their customers, it's not great (see a review posted about a month ago not by me). I'm unsure if they are worse on the store level or the corporate level as a complaint immediately made with them has dragged on but will come to a resolution soon. I have some advise for the store if you don't like your perception change your projection. As far a shopping here, never going to happen...I will not support a business where people cannot conduct themselves as professionals. At the request of the store I was asked to modify a prior review, and I agreed. As fellow business partner in the Mall I have no personal ill will toward this location. I relayed first hand information about a customer experience that did not have the best ending in a review. Not having witnessed the experience first hand that was unfair of me. I was impressed that a sales person took the initiative to come speak with me personally about the review, wanting to take ownership of the situation. I was quite shocked and know that this is a quality that makes for a great customer shopping experience. Often times I am over looked, if a SA thinks I'm not buying I just go through the store unnoticed. This experience started out the same, I walked in, and a few sales associates walked completely passed me. Until Greg offered his assistance. I absolutely can not say enough for Bella @ the Short Hills Chanel boutique. She helped me a year ago and was a fabulous sales woman then. She showed expertise & professionalism while letting me sample several bags on both shopping occasions. I ended up buying two purses in 2015. Yet again, a year later, she helped me... & again I bought two more. She goes above and beyond. And, she does it with a smile welcoming you inside the boutique each time. She gives detailed facts about the history of various purses and also is honest discussing the pros and cons of each leather type so that the customer leaves happy & satisfied. Superb job, Bella!!
