This is a five star review for Dan Oelke at Cartier in Short Hills! DAN IS AMAZING. My husband and I purchased rings at the 5th avenue flagship location in Manhattan and we weren't too impressed. It wasn't until we met Dan at Short Hills that we truly felt that we got high quality treatment...skip Manhattan and go to New Jersey (yes) if you want a chic experience. Dan is the person you would imagine casting as the fabulous salesman in a glamorous movie about Cartier... he is present, intelligent and a true professional. He is not just "doing a job"... Dan texted with me regularly to help solve a very complicated ring issue. He is the kind of person who will make you feel like you are the priority. I had a great experience in the store today. I went in with my daughters and they were so polite to us and let me try on as many items as I wanted to. They have the largest selection of engagement rings and wedding wedding bands of any Cartier I've ever been to. My husband got me a Love bracelet from here back in 2018 for our anniversary. Fast foward to 2022, he got me another one, the small model to stack with my regular size bracelet. I love everything from their LOVE and JUC collection but nothing beats the iconic Love bracelet imo. I love the screw motif design and their rose gold is absolutely beautiful. I wear mine 24/7 and never took it off except for when I had surgery. Our SA, Marco, assisted us on the 1st purchase while another SA, Fred, assisted us (twice) with the most recent purchase. Both individuals provided top tier customer service with their willingness to answer any questions, show me countless pieces and by having a friendly attitude at all times especially Fred, he is truly the best SA I've ever encountered & was so patient with me. My husband says I always ask a lot of questions and try things on multiple times but for a piece of jewelry that is so expensive, you have to love it! Can you blame me? Keep in mind, these Love bracelets requires a screwdriver to take on and off so you'll probably need someone. This is my favorite Cartier location- located inside The Mall at Short Hills with plenty of parking, 170 stores and restaurants. Can't find a place to review on the website since this is more of a product concern and NOT with the specific Cartier Short Hills Mall location. Staff there and selection of pieces are wonderful. I've purchased a love bracelet, 3 variations of love rings and the Santos Dumont watch. Have had no issues with the bracelet or rings. But have had the watch for just under 2.5 years and have had nothing but problems. I purchased the Large version of the watch and the strap was already wearing down within 2 years. I take great care of my other watches and typically don't replace watch straps until 5+ years if they are leather. I ordered the strap in November and didn't receive it until March about 5 months later. And I had to follow up twice after paying upfront in November. The watch crown then recently got caught in netting of my laundry basket and the entire crown+pin yanked completely out. I brought the watch in for service, and although the watch is under warranty, I'm still paying $410 for the watch to be fixed. This is a KNOWN problem that is all over the internet if you look. Many people are experiencing the same issue with the crown completely coming out without much force at all. Some are claiming the fix is covered while others (like mine) are not being covered under warranty. I would recommend completely staying away from the Santos Dumont watch or better yet, go with Rolex or any other watch brand for that matter. read more

The sales help are disinterested in customer service and client satisfaction. In a recent store experience at the location, the salesman with whom I worked was more interested in talking over me and communicating in a combative, defensive manner than listening and trying to understand and help address my concern. The Cartier Short Hills NJ location delivered a disappointing and frustrating experience that is far removed from the elegant customer experience expected from other Cartier locations. The Cartier Short Hills NJ experience is tarnished and in need of repair. After looking online to understand more about the customer experience at Cartier Short Hills, I have come to learn that my experience is not unique. There are numerous poor customer reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp pages citing similar experiences of rude sales staff inexperienced in dealing with customer concerns. There is very little willingness on the part of Cartier Short Hills to try to understand customer issues, and instead of seeking ways to have customers feel satisfied with the product and their experience they instead blame the customer and demonstrate an unwillingness to help. Love this Cartier boutique so much. I always have a positive experience shopping here. I came in recently to pick out a bracelet with my boyfriend for my 25th birthday and worked with Jonathan. He was really patient and insightful. They didn't have my bracelet in stock so it had to be ordered. Bracelet arrived within a few days and Fred helped me when I went in to pick it up. Fred is also such a delightful person to work with! I ended up exchanging my sm JUC for a regular one and Jonathan was really nice about it. I had a horrible experience today with Gracie. Not only did she seem bothered by the fact that she was requested to help me with the exchange of my bracelet, but she also was texting when taking care of me AND seemed very confused with the system. I found her super argumentative and combative when I was telling her my preferences in terms of the sizing of my trinity bracelet and how I like it to fit. This is not my first purchase of a trinity bracelet, I just wanted to add to my collection as it use to only come on rose gold and now comes in yellow gold. Let's be clear, this is a ZERO STAR REVIEW. I have NEVER experienced worse customer service in my life. I came in with my fiancé to purchase his wedding band for our wedding at the end of the month, and after waiting over 20 minutes passed our appointment time we were introduced to Michael who would be helping us. He explained that the ring he wanted in the size and color he would want was "no problem" to order and "could arrive tomorrow" if we wanted...which (surprise, surprise) turned out to be a HUGE LIE! After purchasing he NEVER reached out for two straight weeks, and only after I contacted the store and him directly multiple times did he answer explaining that everything he said was nonsense and the ring we wanted was no longer available until December. When we agreed to have the ring delivered in a half mm size down and I asked him for an email saying that we could return it with no issues if my fiancé was unhappy with it he took another two days to get the email to me which is very rude considering I am compromising here for his mistake. Now to the shipping of the ring... Michael told me it would be sent overnight, nope! He received it late to the store meaning i would be receiving it later than I expected. I told him the apartment information for it to get sent to my home, he sent it to the incorrect address! now it's being sent back to him at the store so it can get resent to me... not sure when I'll ever get this ring and what was supposed to be an exciting time in our lives has turned into a complete and utter disaster. THANK YOU FOR BEING THE WORST CARTIER STORE EVER with the worst sales people, worst manager, and worst service of all time. Today is June 6th and she still hasn't received the ring. It has been excuse after excuse. Her text messages to her sales representative have gone unanswered. I would give it zero stars if I could. My mother and I happened to stop in the other day to get her bracelet resized. We were dressed in sweats as we had been running errands all day. We were made to wait for over 15 minutes as others walked right into the store, were offered chocolate and water and were seen right away. I purchased a ring from this location a YEAR AND A HALF AGO and never received a certificate of authenticity, it was never even mentioned at the time of purchase. I contacted my sales associate a few weeks after my purchase and he said he would send it via mail. After waiting and never having received anything in the mail, I contacted him again twice more and never got a response. I called the store last month and they said they would send it. Never received anything even after confirming my address multiple times. I called again twice and they keep saying they would send it and speak to my sales associate to contact me. After weeks, I finally got a text from my sales associate and he said to let him know if I didn't receive the certificate by a certain date. I haven't so I texted him letting him know. No response. I don't live in the area anymore so what am I supposed to do, fly across the country for this? How difficult is it to send one document? I find this so ridiculous. Being a luxury boutique, I really expected much much better service. I cannot even begin to describe how disappointed I am and will never go to this store for anything again. Poor Service is a common theme as I read many of these reviews, and unfortunately, I have had the same experience. As a direct result, I will not be compromising nor will I be purchasing any items from Cartier. My desire is always to be helpful, however, the multiple reviews where customers had suboptimal experiences, coupled with the apparent absence of appropriate responses to these matters, gives rise to the question as to whether Cartier even cares about: (1) negative customer reactions; (2) how these poor customer service experiences adversely may equate to missed opportunities in potential sales, as customer like myself walk away, and (3) the fundamental impact on its overall corporate reputation. For over a year this store has refused to fix bands and service the customers while the world has resumed. It has not stopped them from selling but a replacement of a broken band for Trinity bracelet was promptly refused last week. Mind you the bracelet was replaced over a month ago at another Cartier store and it broke. Very poor service and sending a note to @cartier in twitter for help is another smoke screen. There I had the extremely good fortune of meeting Dan Oelke. He is warm, courteous and professional. Efficient, but at no time did I feel rushed. I was regularly updated on the progress of my repair, and Dan personally contacted me as soon as the watch was ready. I had a lovely experience buying my first Cartier piece from the East Hampton pop-up boutique. The boutique was beautifully appointed and all of the SAs were happy and friendly; good vibes throughout. They offered me and my friends beverages as we browsed the collections. The store has two levels where the upstairs has chairs and couches for relaxing and contemplating purchases. I knew what collection I was interested in before heading into the store but working with the Sales Associate Dan O., was instrumental with helping me narrow down what pieces in the collection were better suited for me. Dan O. is super nice, patient, and very knowledgeable about the pieces. He treated me and my friends like we were VIPs! My friends inquired about a fragrance they noticed near by and he was very generous by giving us a variety of samples.
