I called Christian Brother's because we were supposed to have it done there a few months prior. They told me that " some auto shops tend to say the fluid is bad just to make a sale" They told me to take the truck back in so I did, then when they looked at the fluid it was really dark. They then tell me that "Maybe we were super busy and forgot to work on your vehicle and there was a mix up" I'm sorry but paying for a break fluid change and saying it "needed to be done asap" but not doing the work? I drove around with it not being done until I went to Monroe automotive... I'm glad the guys there caught it, I was able to get it done with Christian brothers. Which took more time for me since they didn't do it in the first place. We no longer take our vehicles here because of this.

He said I was the first person in 5 years that had asked for prices to be matched from another nearby mechanic shop. He even said that the prices that they quoted me, that I should go to the other shop instead, was a $60 difference by the way. Was also told by Ken that I wasn't a good customer because I had only done one oil service with them in a year and a half. Will never give Crawford's my business and they're just another auto shop that's dishonest and takes advantage of their customers. Hard to find integrity these days!!

Even though it was dropped off after their closing time, Chad greeted me and was really understanding. Unfortunately, I needed a full transmission replacement. Fortunately, they made the experience as painless as possible. I was kept informed over the course of the next few weeks while the transmission was shipped, installed, programmed, and tested. It was an extremely stressful thing to deal with after just moving to the area, but Chad always took the time to answer my questions and was empathetic to what was going on. The DIAG was a bad Evaporator and was going to cost almost $3000. I decided to then bring it into TGK Automotive for a second opinion. I am so glad I did. Upon inspection, they provided a thorough report that INCLUDED actual Camera photos proving to me that the issue was in fact NOT the Evaporator. They instead showed evidence that it was the Condenser which was going to be over $1,000 less than the dealership diagnosis. The issue was fixed and I waited a whole year. This summer the heat started up again and unfortunately the AC started blowing hot again. I took it right back to TGK and without question for $0 cost they were able to cover the full replacement again with a LIFETIME WARRANTY on parts and labor. I have taken a couple summer trips already in 120 degree weather and the ac is so ice cold we actually have to turn it down. I have used this shop exclusively for 20+ years, since the days of ADS owned by Greg LaFontsee…read more Never had a reason not to go back. Now I have good reasons to abandon this loyalty. When Greg retired and sold ADS to TGK, the changes were subtle but not necessarily for the better. Personnel changes, operational changes etc. made me somewhat suspicious. I used to know who was the manager shop, who the service writers were, even the names of the certified techs who did the work. Then TGK, through a series of ownership changes became part of Sun Auto, a huge faceless corporation that emphasizes tire sales as opposed to automotive diagnostics. You can't go online anymore and directly communicate with anyone. All you can do is go through a chatbot, and the website no longer features bios of people that might be involved in maintaining your automobile. On my last visit in September 2025, it was recommended that the engine air filter be changed. I declined this and other recommended services. Recently I encountered a P0101 code indicating that either the MAF sensor needed maintenance or the air filter was dirty. In examining these components, I discovered that the last time the car was serviced, the air filter box was damaged and reinstalled carelessly without any mention of damage on the invoice. Missing screw, parts of air filter housing damaged, loose connections were discovered. I keep meticulous maintenance records, and no one other than TGK has ever done any work related to the air filter since 2016. I think the transformation from a small, performance-centric shop (ADS) to a large corporate tire seller (Sun Auto TGK) that does auto repair on the side is enough to make me start looking elsewhere for a reliable shop to perform diagnostics without harming my vehicles.

We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I made an appointment to get an alignment on my car. I was told the service would take about an…read morehour when I booked. When I dropped off the car for the appointment I told the Christine, the service manager, that I'd be waiting and she confirmed "about an hour." I was not told that the tech would spend an hour doing a vehicle inspection that I had no interest in. When I returned after an hour, the shop hadn't even started the alignment. The manager said "the alignment takes less time than the inspection (!) and should only take another 20-30 minutes. 2.5 hours after my appointment my car was finally ready. They did offer a slight discount on the service. I don't care about discounts. I want to hire people that'll do what they say they'll do in the time they commit to. A few bucks off is not worth the aggravation to me, ever. If the manager had been straight with me I would've taken a freaking Uber home and returned when the car was (finally) ready. Instead, Spencer Auto will never see another one of my vehicles. I can't stand overpromising and under delivering. But, hey, at least I know I have a license plate bulb out thanks to the stupid inspection that the manager insists the owner will not waive. I get the gimmick to find other things to repair, but I won't play Spencer's game again. Lame.
