I came in a week ago to simply get a copy of my car key cut to the new remote, which I had just bought elsewhere. The guy who cut the key charged me $50 for the new car key. I paid it and walked to my car to try it, but it didn't work to turn the ignition. I went back inside to tell him and he came out to try it himself, but it still did not work. He went back in to "re-cut" it, tried it again, and again after that, but it never did work. He told me that he would just put my old working key on my new remote and get me on my way. He did that AND KEPT THE FAULTY KEY. I asked for a refund for the key that he cut, which didn't work, and therefore could not be used, SO HE KEPT IT. He told me that he wasn't authorized to give refunds, but that I could come back any other day and that the manager would be able to help me with that. So I came in today, with my 2-month-old daughter in hand, for what I thought would be a quick and easy refund exchange, but instead was met with the MOST hassle that I have ever had to deal with from ANY business in order to get my money back. I walked in and explained my situation to the owner/manager and he straight up told me, "No, you don't get a refund for that. He went through the trouble to cut the key for you, didn't he?" I explained again that the key, which is what I paid for, didn't work, and ultimately WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME, so I would like my money back for that. He had the audacity to deny my refund, claiming that they did me a favor by swapping MY old key into MY remote. As if that's what I paid $50 for! He called the guy who originally cut the key and asked him about it. I'm not sure what the guy told him over the phone, but the owner laughed and said "No, I'm not doing that. I'll take care of it" Then he walked me outside and tried to tell me how I wouldn't be getting a refund for the key because the guy did me a favor by swapping my old key into my remote! I told him that I did not ask him to do that, nor is that what I paid $50 for, and THEY kept the faulty key! He told me it was still time spent and at best he could give me "half of my money back". HALF! As if that is an acceptable resolution for selling me defective product that I never received. I told him, no, that I wanted my full refund for the key I paid for that didn't work and I never received. I told him all the guy did for me was swap MY original key onto MY new remote, which I could've done myself. To that he said "Well, why didn't you?" I told him because he offered and didn't say anything about charging me, because if he had, I would've told him no. He told me "Half. Take it or leave it." I told him that I'm not leaving without my money back, and to that he told me, "Well, how about, just to get your ass outta here, I just take the key off, give you your money back, and you can put it on yourself!" I immediately told him to do it because I'm not paying $25 for anything that I can easily do myself and IS NOT what I was charged for in the first place. This whole exchange took place outside, in the cold, for about 30 minutes, while I was holding my two-month-old daughter in my arms, wrapped in a blanket, and this unprofessional, rude, and heartless manager couldn't care less about her wellbeing or helping me resolve the situation, when HIS BUSINESS was holding onto money I was charged for faulty merchandise that was ultimately not even given to me. I honestly can't believe that a business can operate with such blatant disregard for its customers, but I truly hope that this establishment doesn't last much longer, so they can't continue to scam, intimidate, or mistreat other people in the surrounding community. This place is a disgrace!

Luckily, I had my car keys with me, so I jetted to Crystal L's house to borrow her 'Net and phone. I researched two places, and though A2Z quoted me higher than the other guy, the owner was a lot more communicative in explaining my options, the process, best-case/worst-case scenario. William was sent over to assist me, and I highly highly *highly* recommend his services. This single dad of three calls himself "the only long-haired, red-headed, big Irish locksmith in Houston." He's probably right. My situation was a sticky one: one sided-lock, second-floor of an apartment. After trying a few inexpensive options with no success, he finally suggested a different tactic, and it worked! Hallelujah. When writing out my check, I noticed his van had a different company name from A2Z, so I asked for his personal business card in case Tex ever felt the need to kick me out again. Unfortch, he wouldn't provide me with it; apparently, William has so much respect and loyalty to A2Z which contracts him out and doesn't want to steal any of their clients. I thought I would have to leave a message on voicemail to schedule an appointment for the next day and unfortunately have to reschedule my clients for another day. No biggie, it was my mistake anyway. But I was wrong! I Lock and Safe promptly answered the phone and was able to schedule an appointment to unlock my office THAT DAY!! Danny (the locksmith) was so fast that I was able to get in my office before my first appointment even arrived. YAY! No rescheduling needed :) PLUS, Danny was even able to cut me an extra copy of my key on the spot so I never had to worry about being locked out again.
