The gym is great but I just struggled figuring out what I needed to do. Synergy eliminates the guess work. Age is no matter, physical limitations also no matter. The staff will help with alternative exercises and work with any limitations. They make the workouts challenging but fun. They also offer virtual if physically going in is a challenge. Don't want a group workout, they got that covered too. One on one personal training is always and option. I just love this place and the staff!

After a few classes, I found their HIIT/Cardio intense (at least for me) programs very helpful for my races that require more than just running. At OTF, there's treadmills, rowers and the weight floor. You can choose where you want to start, or let the front desk pick for you. The space is a little smaller than Chelmsford, but it's convenient because I can jump into class right after work. Also, most days run classes until 6:30 unlike the other branch I go to. After attending a month's worth of classes, I can definitely say that their theory works (stay in orange/red zone long enough and you'll continue burning after class). Almost forgot, if you sign up for a class and miss it, there's a $15 fee! That's one way to stay accountable!

Anna helped me with my diet which actually wasn't like change of all my habits. She basically taught me how to use portion control and eat what I want. Within 30 days I was able to loose from 115 lbs to 107 lbs. I lost almost 2 inches in my belly (that was a big win win) Finally, I'm not only lost the weight in my most concerned areas but as a bonus got so much stronger in shoulder and chest areas. Boston Underground Strength Training is a godsend in the sports fitness community. I spoke with…read moreAngel on the phone to discuss my goals, recovering from a multi-year shoulder injury and getting back onto the path to powerlifting, and we set up an in-person consultation. The consultation was quick and thorough and we set up a plan of action to get me back in shape to lift heavy again. It took a while but trusting Angel and the other trainers here was the best thing I have ever done. I want to say it took about 8 months of recovery based training with the semi-private training group but I no longer have the chronic shoulder pain that I first walked in with. Since coming to Boston Underground Strength Training and going through the recovery training I have competed in three powerlifting meets and have been performing better than I could ever imagined thanks to the excellent programming and coaching provided here. Without Boston Underground I would never have been able to recover from my shoulder injury and probably would have had to give up on my favorite hobby.
