After a few classes, I found their HIIT/Cardio intense (at least for me) programs very helpful for my races that require more than just running. At OTF, there's treadmills, rowers and the weight floor. You can choose where you want to start, or let the front desk pick for you. The space is a little smaller than Chelmsford, but it's convenient because I can jump into class right after work. Also, most days run classes until 6:30 unlike the other branch I go to. After attending a month's worth of classes, I can definitely say that their theory works (stay in orange/red zone long enough and you'll continue burning after class). Almost forgot, if you sign up for a class and miss it, there's a $15 fee! That's one way to stay accountable!

Anna helped me with my diet which actually wasn't like change of all my habits. She basically taught me how to use portion control and eat what I want. Within 30 days I was able to loose from 115 lbs to 107 lbs. I lost almost 2 inches in my belly (that was a big win win) Finally, I'm not only lost the weight in my most concerned areas but as a bonus got so much stronger in shoulder and chest areas. The renovations of Aug 2026 are terrible, there was a yoga ,stretching and floor exercise area that…read morewas big and the best of any planet fitness or of most gyms . Couples or groups could work out together and many did at different times during the day it was full of people doing floor exercises . Now you need to squeeze in between machines or racks . It seemed that they intentionally made floor exercises especially with partners or friends uncomfortable . Why did they put racks of weights in the middle of the stretching area floor where normally it is put on the side , which had space . Doing that They eliminated at least 4 spaces for people to do mat exercises. They put in a bench press area eliminating the yoga area where it could have replaced one of the smith machines . The bench press is healthier than a smith machine . They replaced a number of the lay back bikes which was very popular with regular stationary bikes which doctors and therapists say are not good .

The nearest gym to our temporary residence was the Planet Fitness in Waltham and we could not have been more pleased. We want to thank the manager, Chan, and his staff for making us feel welcome and accomodating us for a short period membership. The Planet Fitness offers a full suite of both cardio and strength equipment that addresses all of workout requirements. And there is ample duplication to enable a large number of patrons to burn off excess calories, stress, and energy. This gym is well maintained and the staff was noticeably making rounds to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness. When repairs to equipment were needed it was usually accomplished within 24 hours. The gym hours are great and meshed nicely with our hectic schedule. Weekday hours are from 5:00 am until 10:00 pm which ensured we could get in a daily workout. The patrons here are very friendly and and we enjoyed the social dimensions of being in the gym. We also noted that everyone is meticulous about cleaning the equipment after completing a set. Great facility with a wide variety of equipment and an attentive staff and genial patrons made for an exceptional experience. I spoke with…read moreAngel on the phone to discuss my goals, recovering from a multi-year shoulder injury and getting back onto the path to powerlifting, and we set up an in-person consultation. The consultation was quick and thorough and we set up a plan of action to get me back in shape to lift heavy again. It took a while but trusting Angel and the other trainers here was the best thing I have ever done. I want to say it took about 8 months of recovery based training with the semi-private training group but I no longer have the chronic shoulder pain that I first walked in with. Since coming to Boston Underground Strength Training and going through the recovery training I have competed in three powerlifting meets and have been performing better than I could ever imagined thanks to the excellent programming and coaching provided here. Without Boston Underground I would never have been able to recover from my shoulder injury and probably would have had to give up on my favorite hobby. My experience was great. I had ordered a test online, self-pay thru Ulta Labs. Then I went online…read moreand made an appt at this location for the blood draw. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Check-in was easy with the QR code I got when making my appt and placing my drivers license on the check-in scanner. I only interacted with 1 employee and she was friendly and competent. One slight negative was that I had to drive around the entire parking lot to find the one available space. But by the time I parked and started walking to the entrance, suddenly there were 5 or 10 empty parking spots. So if the lot is full, just wait a minute. Another slight negative is that when I used the elevator and it stopped on the third floor, there was nothing telling me I was on the third floor. The "3" light inside the elevator didn't light up and there wasn't a "3" painted on the elevator doorway like there usually is, or even a sign in the hall prominently saying "3rd floor." Likewise, when I was leaving and pushed the button to call the elevator, that button didn't light up either. I saw all the bad reviews and was apprehensive about what my experience would be. I was very pleasantly surprised and would not hesitate to use this location again in the future.
