I think it would be nicer if they had all the rooms organized by category but that is a smaller detail. The cardio space had a nice variety of equipment. I watched the ping pong players for about 20 minutes. It was wild! So competitive and engaging. The pool was nice. I didn't get into it because there was a lot of people swimming laps. It didn't seem like the chill out relax type of pool so keep that in mind. The staff was friendly enough and most of the facility was quite clean. I would definitely come back

Review: I had a deeply disappointing experience working at…read more YMCA Chinatown The workplace conditions were far below professional standards, making it difficult for both staff and children to thrive. For starters, the environment was chaotic and poorly managed. Staff were frequently overworked and undervalued, with little support from leadership. It felt as though maintaining adequate staffing levels was never a priority, leaving employees to juggle an overwhelming number of responsibilities. This created unnecessary stress and burnout, making it impossible to provide the high level of care and attention that children deserve. For the children, the atmosphere was less than ideal. The lack of proper organization meant that schedules and routines were inconsistent, leaving kids feeling unsettled and frustrated. The classroom materials and resources were outdated or inadequate, limiting opportunities for creative and meaningful learning experiences. Safety protocols also appeared to be poorly enforced, which was extremely concerning. Additionally, the leadership team was unapproachable and dismissive of staff concerns. Suggestions for improvement were either ignored or met with resistance. It felt like their primary focus was on cutting costs rather than investing in the well-being of staff and the children in their care. Overall, this was not a positive environment for either employees or the children. I hope management takes immediate action to address these issues because the current state of the program is unacceptable. Maggie, Najee for you two to go the length for not just an employee but a parent! Fired her made sure she doesn't get unemployment then kick her child out is outrageous! And overall sad !!!

Same idea with a megaformer and low impact, high intensity moves that leave you sweating, so it just all depends on what vibe you like more! I like that the megaformer offers variety even within one workout and coming to a studio like this offers movements and workouts that you cannot easily replicate at home. Plus, small class sizes (12 people max?) offer the boutique experience. The instructor was able to provide hands-on modifications and demonstrate the moves on an unoccupied reformer but that would be more difficult if the class was fuller. It seems they have days focusing on different body parts, so depending on which day you choose, you may get less arm workouts but more core and legs or vice versa. Not sure if that information is on the website but there is a calendar with the schedule in the studio. Tip: - There is no warm-up so be on time! - Bring a water bottle and towel if you sweat easily like I do. - Would recommend good sticky socks so you have more stability, especially when you start sweating on your platform. - A great way to try out the class is with one of the $5 teacher-in-training classes!

No matter what time I come here, both of the two cable crossover machines are in use. The same goes for most of the other resistance machines and free weight areas in general, and yet this place insists on having a ridiculous amount of space dedicated to cardio machines that are mostly not in use at any given time including peak hours. This is an obvious sign that they probably understand there is more demand for resistance training but they don't care, and probably want members to pay for membership but not actually show up because of how congested that area will be. Just one of many examples of how this place invests more into its open/empty aesthetic than on actually delivering a positive workout experience. The audacity that they have in charging such exorbitantly high membership dues and increasing them every single year without ever improving on anything is absurd. This place is average in every way aside from its pretentious pricing out of people who aren't wealthy. I do not recommend this place at all. You will absolutely not get your money's worth and member feedback never leads to improvements.

Every time I come here there's at least 5 men wandering around. I did ask about this and they said that it's mass law to hire inclusively. Something to keep in mind if you're looking for a safe woman's only space. I have to find a corner where there's just women when I workout. It feels weird to me to have a bunch of male trainers and staff but advertise that you are a women's only gym rather than in a regular gym where you'd expect to see both men and women. Honestly if I knew this before I committed for the year I would have just gone to the same gym with my boyfriend. At least there I would know it's coed. Someone could say this is false advertisement.

Sunday's at the BSC Boylston are a real adventure…read more Cleansing wipes are constantly empty, and the staff allege to not have a back-up supply. I don't believe them. How could that be, a component so integral to infection control, and no back-up supply. What a way to nurture non-compliance with the users of equipment that should be wiped down, following each use, to have no sanitizing wipes. This is not BSC's first trip to this rodeo. They are regular guests at this rodeo. Again, on Sunday's, no paper towel in the Men's Room. How could that be? An Absentee Landlord? Inadequate staffing on Sunday's? Poor supervision/management? Irresponsible employees? And, as is consistently the case, the large lockers in the Men's Room are paralyzed by parasites who take those lockers over, for days and weeks at a time. I don't know what it is with gyms in the Back Bay, but, Planet Fitness, on Newbury Street, and sometimes New York Sports Club on Boylston Street, have air that does not circulate. Given the essence of body odor that comes with physical exertion, and working out, the air in these places should constantly be circulating. That's not always the case. The Boylston Street BSC has a beautiful, well maintained indoor pool. You have to reserve lane times, and the pool is closed to an outside contract, young children's swim camp, at certain hours of the day.
