Chama Brazilian Bbq in Caringbah offers a $39 all you can eat barbecued meats, salads, fries, vegetables and antipasto dishes. Although it's called a buffet, you don't even have to get out of your seat, the staff actually come around and offer you different dishes until you're full! We practically tried every dish on the menu from the range of beef on offer and we really liked the scotch fillet and balsamic beef kebab, but there are more than 5 variations of flavours. Meats are cooked whilst rotating over coals. This cooking method enables the meat to be tender, succulent and take on a nice charred flavour. The chicken was extremely succulent and in particular the lemon pepper and the honey soy fillets were superb. For the adventurous folk amongst us, chicken hearts are on offer! The pork belly was also a standout, and the crackling was as crunchy and salty as we like it. The meat comes sliced on platters and the staff serve you as much as you like. Some of the meat comes out on the traditional bbq skewers, cooked over the wood fired bbq and they carve it to your plate at the table. There's plenty of sides on offer and the Brazilian cheese bread/cheese puff is definitely at the top of that list. There's so much to choose from; fries, oven baked veg, bean salad, coleslaw, rocket and Parmesan salad, haloumi cheese, black beans and more! You are served a few sauces like Chama Churro, vinaigrette, green chilli and Parmesan, though you don't really need it with such nicely seasoned meat. We were told early to save space for dessert, and we were lucky we did because they have some lovely bbq pineapple and fried bananas (fritters) with cinnamon. Long bench seats and stools, the decor is casual. The staff have a lot of personality and really made us feel welcome. We were greeted with enthusiasm by all the waitresses when we entered and felt instantly welcome! The venue is extremely family friendly with bubbly and attentive staff members ready to assist you at any time you need. The meat was cooked perfectly, the rump steak was absolutely fantastic which melted right in our mouths. We definitely had at least 10 servings of this during our diner! We also had a huge variety of food including the Rocket and Parma, Chicken sausage, Pepper beef, Chorizo, Cheese bread, Honey soy chicken, Halloumi and Lamb. The Grilled pineapple, sweet juicy and coated with cinnamon to add that extra flavour to seal the deal. The fried banana is a must! Ive been here about 8 times including last saturday for my best friends bucks which i organised with my Godfather :)!! It was cool to book it this April caise it was Churrasco's 5 year anniversary so they only charged $35 a head all you can eat :D We were half an hour late but that is standard for Europeans lol!! It was in total 32 of us, so we brought plenty of noise and plenty of empty stomachs haha!! I was running up and down the length of the table and making sure everyone was getting smashed with food before i decided to sit down :D. Some evening favourites were the chorizo sausages, fall of the bone spare ribs, slow cooked beef with melted parmesan cheese, chicken hearts, haloumi cheese, cheese bread, shoestring fries, pork neck with a delicous sauce and last but not least the deep fried banana with cinammon. . Dammnnn what a evening dinner it was :D!! They have BYO so we brang our own Corona beers in 2 big eskies which they so kindly served to us with limes when we requested. They charged us a reasonable $5 a head corkage, still ended up alot cheaper than buying the drinks at the restaurant :D!! Everyone's stomachs were in Content and everyone enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. Alot of friends walked out vowing to never eat at Braza again aswell lol!! We had been there once before and it was pretty average hence we didn't rush back. Probabky 2 years between visits. This time the food quality had improved, and there were a lot more choices for salads etc which was an improvement. Pork ribs were excellent. Found the staff unfriendly, even rude with the way they asked for id for our daughter, who was able to get the half price but even at $22 wouldn't have gone close to getting value for money. Shared two pitchers of Mojito as part of happy hour, so about 3-4 glasses each. I didn't think it tasted strong and I blew a 0.00 on my breathalyser when I got home 30 minutes after the last drink. I went here when it first opened in 2010 and it was a decent enough experience, but we went back recently and it was absolutely terrible. It's a lot more expensive now -- $44pp, not including their shockingly overpriced wine, and at least when we went, we found both the selection on offer and the quality of what was offered to us to be very substandard. We waited for 30 minutes to be offered the better quality options like the sirloin and scotch fillet, politely turning down constant offers of chicken hearts and overcooked thigh fillets, only to find them very dry and tough, and several options on the menu simply weren't offered at all. The best value for money meal you can get in sydney. Non stop meat. Can't ask for anything more from it. Definitely try the haloumi and pineapple as well. Cocktails are quite good as well if that's your thing. Can't rate this place high enough. It always delivers. read more
