A classic but it's a tea that I know and love very well and if that Thai tea is amazing then expect to catch me there, and their Thai tea boba was just that! Amazing !!! The boba itself was very perfectly made so chewy and sweet and I finished my drink right away! It's perfect for a nice hot day in valley (which is many days here in the valley) and I can't wait to try the other goodies in the menu! I found out about Chala from a Yelp event and now it's one of my faborite spots to get boba! They do a great brown sugar milk drink. The boba isn't as chewy as I'd like it to be, but it's not bad. The service is friendly and always quick. There's sometimes a line, but they get through it fast. The location can have some seedy people here, though, so I wouldn't feel safe coming alone here after dark. They accept Apple Pay and there is a convenient parking lot with plenty of spots available. read more

Such a cute boba shop! I have an obsession with Matcha teas so I wanted to give this place a try. I ordered small matcha milk tea and small brown sugar milk tea and both were just perfect. Even though I ordered small, it came in a huge cup! It was just the right amount of sweetness and boba. Ordering was super easy and the staff were all so friendly! It was my first time here and probably my last. I ordered a watermelon slushy and I expected it to be real fruit in my slushy but it taste like an artificial watermelon sweetener powder of some kind, which was also overly sweet. The more boba, THE BETTER! This has to be one of the cutest boba spots within the LA area! It's an underrated gem. I had a craving for boba (but seriously, WHAT ELSE IS NEW) when I was visiting another local business in the area. I spotted the shop and pulled the fastest U-turn I could (without breaking laws of course). First Impression: Parking is sooooo hard there! The shop is located in a small "shopping center" with no more than 10 spaces. HOWEVER, I promise you, it's worth it to wait for a spot. When you enter the shop it's so pink and girlie, the smell of crepes and fresh boba is wafting through the air. The music isn't booming, but it's at a perfect level. It is very clean inside, and you can see the love put into building out the shop. Service: Impecable! The staff is always ready and willing to help with your orders and they're patient (if you can't decide). They're very polite and make you feel welcomed! The Drinks: I sadly didn't get to try to the crepes when I went, sounds like another excuse for me to go back! The drinks I had were not only tasty, BUT HUGE! I loveeeee places that have generous servings of boba and Chala doesn't skimp out on the portions. I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba, the Black Pink, and I believe a Coffee Boba. They forgot the order that the people before us got. Other people before us were waiting (we were waiting for at least 20 minutes, can't imagine how long the others were waiting for). They forgot to add boba in one of the drinks we ordered (not pictured) but honestly didn't care anymore because we just wanted to leave. Once our drinks were done, they forgot our sticky mango rice. Even if it was rushed, we still thought it was really good. We asked for 100% and 75% sweetness. 2 of our drinks were labeled with 100% and 25%. I totally missed it when I came in, but they have it and a frequent buyer punch card :) New place, crispy Thai crepes, super friendly staff, good selection of drinks and a number of unique first time try's for me. I tried their Blackpink shake with Oreos and a standard watermelon smoothie; the Blackpink was different, didn't know what to expect because I've never heard of the syrup they use to make it pink, but it was good to try, down side is they serve it open top so be weary of putting it in your cup holder mine tossed upside down and now my cup holder is a shade of pink. The watermelon tasted good, but it had a syrup aftertaste which made me think they didn't used fresh watermelon, but still not terrible. The crispy crepe was fun because it's not everyday that you can order pork floss and with Thai chili and a cheese drizzle made it fun to nosh off pieces, is come back to try the sweet crispy crepes. Next time I'll try their Thai tea with boba or some of their other Chala specials because they sound awesome, like pina colada with fresh fruit or the mangonada with fresh mango and tajin! I gave them three stars today because what I tried didn't make me ooo or ah, and the spill (though not their fault) made me ask why didn't they put a boba lid on it...? *sigh* this isn't the end. Best boba around! I'm very picky on my boba. I used to only go to Bon Bon but recently moved to Van Nuys so the drive is a little farther than what it used to be but this place exceeded my expectations. The parking lot is a little sketchy. There are homeless that hang around in front of the liquor store but they don't bother anyone except each other. There's always a lot of parking for a little plaza with a couple stores. I tried their Mango & sticky rice and WOW. It was honestly perfect and the rice is shaped into a little bear. I wish I took a picture. I guess that means I have to go back to get one and take a picture lol The only down side is some days they just aren't open. I follow them on IG and they're pretty good about letting you know on there if they're going to be closed early or for the whole day. Other than that, AMAZING!!! read more

Heard about this new boba spot from Average Socialite and wanted to check it out! The owners are from Thailand- two sisters- and are so sweet! They are constantly thanking their customers and love feedback. Pear, one of the owners, has been working daily nonstop to keep the place running. She informed me that her family makes Thai crepes in Thailand and wanted to bring it here in LA. She recommended the savory crepe with shredded pork, imitation crab and Thai sweet chili base. We got the lavender milk tea and the pink milk tea. The lavender is really good. It's the perfect amount of lavender and tea flavors. I tend to prefer lavender on the heavier side but for the average person, it's just right. We never heard of pink milk before so we gave that one a try. It tastes like half way between the powder mix strawberry milk (think Nesquik) and bubble gum. Despite what that flavor may sound, it was pretty good. We got it at 75% sweetness and it wasn't overbearingly sweet. 100% may be too much. The staff were friendly as you'd expect from the vibes and aesthetics of the place.
