Robyn is by far the best trainer I've ever worked with, and I've got a long and sordid history of…read moretraining for both physical advancement and for working through injuries. I've trained in the US and in Canada, and Robyn has them all beat. To start, she sat and talked with me about my goals and my injuries, and I could tell from the beginning that she had a deep understanding of what I wanted to get out of our sessions. After an initial assessment, the training began, and she consistently pushed me outside my comfort zone but within my ability range. Anyone who deals with injuries knows that pushing too far too fast only results in damage and more time recuperating, and Robyn helped me find that perfect balance. Not once during our sessions did I find myself regretting pushing so hard, and I knew that she had her eye on my form, making sure that I did everything perfectly. She is a professional and takes her work seriously, and it shows. Not only did she work with me on a weekly basis, but she provided a written description of the exercises we had completed and how I should continue with them in our "off" time. If you've ever worked with another trainer, you'll know that is not standard! Long story short, I began struggling on V1s and finished, 8 sessions later, projecting on V6s with no sign of injury. Every time I am back in Golden, I make a point of coming back to the gym just to see Robyn. A great trainer, a great athlete, and a new friend.

Robyn is an excellent trainer who delivers results. Highly recommended.read more

Let's talk about what Ethos is doing during this pandemic. I've been to Ethos, the hair stylist,…read moregrocery stores, home improvement stores, and the doctor (twice) since our Safer At Home orders have started. And I've felt the safest at Ethos. Everyone is in masks, everyone has their own bottle of cleaner to wipe down equipment, and everyone has their own 10'-15' space in the gym to work out. Doors are open, the ceilings are high, and classes are limited to 6 people. They are making a huge effort to clean every day, and everyone is screened for symptoms before entering the gym. Honestly, I was more worried picking up an order at Home Depot than I've been at Ethos - they are taking our health and safety extremely seriously. As a former athlete with multiple surgeries under my belt, I've been in and out of gyms and physical therapy my whole life. I went through years of very expensive personal trainers only to see minimal gains. I decided to try Ethos after hearing about it from former teammates. What I found was a gym that challenged me, with a team of trainers that are dedicated to every member's success. After 40+ years of destroying my body, I'm now learning how to breathe and move in a different way in order to prevent further injuries. In less than a year I've gained more strength and confidence than I ever did with 10 years of personal trainers. Simply put, Ethos is the best.

I started at Ethos to train for Jiu Jitsu on a 3 month trial membership. I was so impressed by the…read morecoaches that I became a full time member. I am so glad they were able to reopen after the Covid shut down. I was concerned about working out with a mask but it's actually not too bad. They are doing a great job limiting the number of people and keeping all of the equipment clean and sanitized.

I got a membership here in June ... and then hurt myself two different ways and finally am back!…read moreAnd I am so thankful for the team here that was able to work with me as I recovered, got hurt for another reason, and then was able to get back into it! I really enjoy OTF, I love not having to think about my workouts, but I really appreciate the coaches here. They've been so helpful for modifications and 99% of them if they see I'm confused but what they said, or didn't hear something, will catch it and jump in to help!

I've been to maaaany OTFs around the country & this was at the lowest end on the quality scale…read more The workout is always the same across the country so it was a great workout, but the trainer wasn't so good & the machines were not in great shape. Pros: It's conveniently located off the highway & has lots of parking. The bathrooms were big & lots of lockers to store your stuff. Workout was consistent & I liked that the trainer could toggle the mic&speakers between the cardio & the floor (to not interrupt everyone when talking to a specific group). Cons: The trainer was terrible compared to the 50+ trainers I've met across the country at OTF locations. it was a 3G at like 5:30pm so 30+ people but no control over the class. Also, he didn't pass out wipes or even encourage wiping the equipment between switches. And, he told the class bye before stretches so 1/2 of the people left, then 1/2 milled around & he came over to lead stretches - very apathetically. Lastly, my rower footplate was broken - missing 3 of 4 screws & they didn't even have it coned off for no one to use.. and the treadmill was wobbly/off balance! When I'm back in Denver, I'll make sure to go to a different OTF studio... I've been to the Denver Tech one & it was great, looks like that's where I'll go next time :)

I signed up for a "free" 6-week challenge that had been advertised on Facebook. I chose the…read moremembership option ($270 upfront, $180 after the challenge) versus paying $599 upfront for the challenge. I chose the membership option because I was hopeful my work would allow me to actively make time for the gym. Unfortunately, I just wasn't able to complete it do to some changes in my work schedule. Let me just say the workouts, coaches, and people are very friendly. The 6-week challenge meal plan is limited, making it incredibly hard to follow. This comes from someone who is pretty easy-going about meal options and has done low-card, calorie counting, Keto, and a few other meal lifestyles successfully. There's apparently a new meal prep guide with a larger option for foods, but it came out after I started so I don't know much about it. They don't have a copier, so I took a photo of the contract, which is neither here nor there, but more a friendly note to snap a photo or you won't have something to refer back to. They do require you to sign a photo release to join, which really isn't something I was interested in doing, but had already signed up before being told about the release. You're also required to friend the owners, Sol and Amy, on social media and follow the gym. (Funny enough, my EFT just processed for the current month, my last, and I noticed one already unfriended me. I guess that means we can't be friends if my membership during/after my notice. ‍) It's alright. I wasn't thrilled by the idea anyway. Friending them does allow membership in a secret group of other members and one of other challengers. I can't fairly review the gym or the workouts other than saying I would have at least continued to complete the challenge had work not interfered. It is a great workout. You go at your own pace (kind of). Coaches are eager to help (and encouraging) so you don't feel like the new kid. I enjoyed it! My biggest frustration regarding the challenge specifically is there isn't really a good option to just try the challenge. Being asked to pay $600 for a "free" campaign is a lot of money to try something out. When opting for the more price efficient option you're locked into more than 6 weeks because of the misleading 30 day policy unless you cancel after your very first foundations class. The policy states: "Once payment is received on an EFT membership there are no refunds under any circumstances. 30 day written notice is required to cancel an EFT membership. Any payments that fall within that 30 days must be satisfied." MOST IMPORTANTLY: Unless you give notice on the 1st day of the month in a 31 day month, you will be paying for more than 30 days after giving notice. If notice is given on the 2nd or any time after, you'll be billed for the remainder of the current month and then your 30 days. Again, there is no way out of getting locked into a second month automatically when trying the challenge. In my case, I gave written notice just over two weeks after starting, but I paid for an additional month was still due. All in all, I paid $460 for 14 days of foundations classes and 5 days of actual workouts.

By the time I found Soloman I was a mess. Loss of strength, limited mobility and range of motion and daily pain. Not to mention the fear of injuring myself even more. He worked with me for a long time to help regain my mobility and range of motion then we started on strength, it was a special day when he told me we didn't need one-on-one anymore and I could attend the group classes. I still require modification for most everything but he never fails to kick my butt and push me beyond my fears. I love this guy!
