First time here, authentic Russian food. Everything we tried was delicious service was fast and good. It was quiet because it was around 1:30 but this place would be fun for a date night and for a family night.

Tonight was my first time here. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The tables were beautifully carved and the seating was comfortable. They only had one person waiting tables. He did an excellent job taking care of our table. I ordered the chicken kabob and borsch soup. My son ordered the beef kabob and my wife ordered the lamb and beef kabob. We also ordered a side of cooked mushrooms and onions. When we received our meals we exchanged meats . I was very happy with all of the kabobs. Chicken kabob was my favorite. All the meat was tender and flavorful. The borsch soup was very good. Each of us tried it. I would order it again. Overall it was an excellent meal. We we're all very happy with it. We look forward to returning and trying different dishes.

Delicious! Very warm welcome and exceptional dishes. We were worried that it may be closed but it was indeed open. The place is designed beautifully with suzani and other central Asian textiles--and comfy. More people should be visiting this place!! Collectively, our party had the osh (pilav), sambusa, shurpa, potatoes, and the mixed grill kebabs (lulya, beef, & lamb) along with the shakarob salads, extra bread, and hot green tea. All were wonderful! Wish we could have tried more dishes from the menu, but very glad we stopped by during our road trip to another state.

Great food, excellent flavors! Even the salad was amazing. Most of our party got the lamb kebab, but I also tried shrimp which I will definitely be coming back for!

I absolutely love Chaikhana. I'm particularly obsessed with the manti (dumplings), borsch (beet soup), salad (topped with dill), and lamb kebabs. I've been here three times, and each time the quality of the food is consistent. Dinner is even more enjoyable when sitting in the booths with cozy pillows.

I went recently and had a chance to try a handful of things. I thought the menu had a great variety of things at a reasonable price and the service was great. Below are the things we tried in order of preference: Gyro - probably my favorite item ; It comes with fries and you get a lot of meat ; in the future I may ask for extra tzatziki on the side Chicken Kebab - I would def. get this again. The meat was flavorful and tender. Comes with a side salad I believe (that may go with the Gyro), as well as some grilled veggies and rice. Manti - Imagine Ravioli stuffed with tons of meat and onions Borsch - Beet soup ; Every at the table really enjoyed this Sambusa - great flavor (pastry with a beef/lamb filling) Humus + Pita - solid flavor; nothing mind blowing but I always like hummus Chaikhana Bread: cross between a kaiser roll and a warm bagel

While in Omaha BE I cannot escape from yummy pilav in Chaikhana Restaurant! I always feel here like being in Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan!!!

Ordered Chicken Kebab. It's tender and well marinated, but a bit salty for my taste. It could also use some lemon/lime. Be sure to ask for some lime to go with your chicken kabob -- I felt like it was missing something & I've had better. The sides dishes that come with it -- rice, bread, & sautéed veggies -- are real good. The portion is also filling & worth the price! Even though I wasn't blown away by the food, the portion, customer service, interior decor, & reasonable price earns a 4 star from me :)

I was surprised at how good the flavor of the dressing was on the salad, and although it was a pretty simple salad, it was definitely a large and filling enough meal for me with the amount of beef that came on top. I also got the extra grilled vegetables, and these were delicious! Kind of a surprise to see it. It was just one large piece of each vegetable, but it was still plenty of food, and worth the charge for me. The environment is pretty simple in plain, definitely feels like a hole in the wall spot. The restroom is past the kitchen, so you get a good view into the front of house and back of house stations. Overall, this was a great meal, although just a little too pricey in my opinion. My total is $28 for this meal (no drink), which included the tip (they write it in for you.)

The food itself was just okay to me. I do not think they give you much food in the Kebabs. It's mostly rice and the rice was very bland. We had to add seasoning that was on the table to make anything have flavor. My mom did love her Eggplant Pilau with Beef, but personally I would go elsewhere for Mediterranean food if I had the option.

We started with the appetizer sampler and it was amazing! It has everything you want and things you didn't know you needed! The hummus and tabbouleh are wonderful but the stars of the plate are the pita and the beet salad for me. The beets are in a creamy dressing and just so craveable. The hummus is nice and smooth, the tabbouleh has so much herb and is so fresh. I only wished for a bit more lemon. The baba ganoush was really good but was a bit over smoky so a little bit at a time was good. The cucumber dip was amazing as well. We then proceeded to the main event - salads, fries, and falafel. Caesar (entree size only) and side dinner salad with a sherry vinaigrette were nice but nothing special. Then the French fries and falafels... fresh and hot!!! Crispy! Fluffy!! And when we broke into the falafels, we were so excited to see GREEN!!! They had HERBS inside!! And the tahini sauce on the side was so delicious. I want that for my salad dressing AND dipping sauce for the fries (although the cucumber dip is amazing on them too!) so much food for two girls so many boxes were needed. It was closing time therefore dessert was togo- baklava. Large triangle. Very delicious. We sat at the bar and I believe we were served by the Lady of the House (Owner). She was incredibly welcoming and we had a joyful conversation about kids and good foods. Oh... did I mention they offer Armenian wine? Yup. Red was my choice and although it was a little sweet, it went well with all the flavors of our meal. Maybe next time I'll try the white....
