    Chicken and steak mixed kebabs

A small but cozy restaurant inside. Wait staff was nice but I did feel like ate food took quite a long time to get to us and there were only two other tables there. The food itself was just okay to me. I do not think they give you much food in the Kebabs. It's mostly rice and the rice was very bland. We had to add seasoning that was on the table to make anything have flavor. My mom did love her Eggplant Pilau with Beef, but personally I would go elsewhere for Mediterranean food if I had the option.

I really wanted to like Mediterranean bistro...especially because there's not a ton of Mediterranean places to eat out west. The service was fine, nothing memorable. The food was decent, but not memorable either. My biggest complaint was that a lot of the food was bland. The rice was almost flavorless, and both of the meats I ordered lacked true flavor. It looked like there was plenty of seasoning on there, but honestly it didn't taste like much. The highlight of the meal was the baklava. It did taste a little mealy, but on the hole it was the best thing I ate the whole night. The ambience needs some updating. It kind of looks like a cross between Persian and Mediterranean inside, but all of the interiors and decorations could use some TLC. Maybe just an a dining room refresh? Everything looked well used.

Mediterranean bistro is an Omaha classic, tucked away right off 120th and blondo behind the gas station and next to hurts donuts. FOOD : the food is nice to have as a healthier option with loads of flavors compared to the standard American cuisine. I got the chicken kabob with hot sauce and substituted veggies for the rice. The chicken was honestly not great, it was pretty greasy and chewy, I caught a bone which I'm never thrilled about. To be honest as years have gone by, I really like this place less and less. As for the veggies, they were alright, nothing really special about them they were just chard and that was that. Overall kind of a waste of money if I'm being really honest, much prefer El Basha or other Mediterranean spots in Omaha. TIPS / THINGS TO KNOW : if you're doing takeout they automatically add a 10% gratuity to your order. I have had issues here in the past where they have added A lot of money on come time to pay that was unnecessary, so make sure you know what you're paying for and you don't go without checking the receipt. They also add tax to each plate instead of to the order overall, so another thing to note. Also, they don't offer sides of hummus unless you're paying $10 extra dollars for it which sucks compared to other Mediterranean spots in town. Lastly, The menu prices they have online are different than the prices they have in store, everything is about a dollar more expensive when you go inside. Unfortunately this will probably be the last time I ever go here, it just solidified that I truly don't love the spot if I'm being honest. Not only is the way they charge sketchy, but the food really just isn't as good as it used to be.

    Grilled Chicken Salad - delicious!!

The interior is beautifully decorated and you feel comfy able. We LOVED the lavosh! Had it last night as an appetizer and we're still talking about it! The Grilked Chicken Salad with their house dressing was delicious. Everything on that plate was delicious! The only negative I can say is that we feel embarrassed wanting to go back after less than 24 hours!

I was excited to try Mediterranean Bistro. My boyfriend has been telling me how the Chicken Ala Pomegranate reminds him of something his grandmother used to make. Of course, I had to try something different. I went with their house specialty, kabobs with a side salad. I truly preferred the side salad over the meal. The salad dressing is delicious. The kabobs were ok, a little bland. I liked the steak over the chicken. The overall service was excellent. The service was quick and efficient. Quick callout. If you are looking at the menu online, it automatically defaults to the lunch menu. If you are going for dinner, make sure you click the dinner menu. The items are slightly different and the cost is more for dinner.

I asked if they were larger sized falafel or anything and was told it was a pricing error they would fix eventually. Months later, the price remains the same. Their chili crisp add-on for the spreads was also posted in the menu as $1 but was charged as $2 when the bill arrived. It's a super fun environment and space, the staff was great, and everything is very delicious, but I can't trust their prices and bills to make sense without having to check it. Even the happy hour prices felt expensive for what we got.

However, I came seeking something that was both fresh and local as well as ethnically and culturally distinctive, and it was a winner. The menu is marked for vegan and gluten-free concerns. Falafel is available as a platter, a wrap, or a salad. I opted for a salad. I appreciated the toppings, but I also appreciated the ability to customize. I opted to stick with everything (since they don't do cucumbers like a lot of places) and found the chickpea and carrot salad and red cabbage to contribute a significant texture and flavor variety. There were only two falafel balls, albeit large ones, but the overall result made for a nice light meal. I made it a bit heavier of course by ordering fries, which were made freshly and tossed in curry-flavored spice that delivered a mouthwatering aroma that elevated the fries themselves. A little slotted stick was given as a utensil to pick up the fries, which I started by using and then stopped when the fries cooled down. Overall, I could not ask for much more in a falafel place. The drink selection didn't wow me, so I just got a water.

I was so delighted to see a beautifully decorated latte; in a simple white shallow mug, delivered direct to my table. If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. My husband and I could have fought over it--it was that good! The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, and sat upon a sweet and spice infused puree called mahummara with crunchy pine nuts. The complexity of spices compelled us to try another bite, and then another... Roasted carrots are tender and sweet. Paired with cool yogurt and chili crunch, they ascend into another level of deliciousness. A tear of fresh bread across bits of remaining sauce, and then (not a minute sooner) "we are satiated, thank you!" and the server can take the plate. The restaurant is adjacent to a theater that shows unique offerings and they will sometimes coordinate events with menus. We liked the simple cafe style tables and openness. Ample parking is available in back.
