Such a hidden gem in Lomita! This cafe is absolutely beautiful, and you can tell how much thought and care went into every detail of the space. There are gorgeous murals throughout, beautiful lighting, super comfortable seating, and even the bathroom is beautiful. The ceiling is covered in this gorgeous floral installation that makes the whole space feel so unique. It genuinely feels like every little detail was thought about. It has such a welcoming atmosphere and is the perfect place to sit and catch up with friends or bring your laptop and get some work done. The hospitality really stood out to me too. The man that was working the counter was so friendly and helped me decide what to order, giving me some great recommendations. Halfway through eating, he came over and offered me extra sauce, which was literally what I had just been thinking I wanted I ended up staying for a while to get some work done, and even after I was finished eating, they continued checking on me and offering to refill my water. Such a small thing, but that level of attentiveness made the experience even better. I tried the pistachio latte and it was SO good. I also got the beef sandwich, which was delicious, and the sauce that comes with it is amazing. I especially love that they're open late and still serve both food and coffee until closing. On the weekends they're even open until 12:30 AM, which is such a rare find for a cafe around here. Definitely a hidden gem right now. We had a chai latte and a Kashmiri chai in a clay cup. Both were good. I'm picky about chai because I've had it from homemade to restaurants and temple chai. The regular chai latte was good, i.e., not spicy. I especially loved the Kashmiri chai in the little clay pot. 10/10! :) In addition, we tried the beef pot pie (20/10!) from the ready made items inside the counter display. Service: a young lady provided us with pleasant customer service. She provided cheerful information about the food items currently offered, made suggestions and answered all our questions with a kind disposition and a smile. Regarding time, I don't want my chai coming out too fast. I'd rather think there is someone in the back with a pot of milk meticulously making my chai to order. It did not take any longer than necessary to make our order, as any other coffee or tea house would take. The cooked items did take a lil bit longer than the drinks and the pot pie, which only required heating. We ordered pakora and samosas. The samosas were not like the samosas from our local India Spice, they were smaller and did not seem to have potato, they were ground beef samosas, sort of like empanadas. The pakora pieces were large and "meaty" - more vegetable and less flour. But these side menu items are not, in my opinion, relevant to the tea house review. The ambiance is cool. The walls are decorated with tea scenes, including a chai wallah serving hot tea in his little cart. The music was modern and not related to the tea rituals. Young coffee or tea house patrons would love the vibe. They have many tables with space for a laptop and wifi. Nice place to study or get some work done. They have doordash. Drinks and food took a long, long time to be delivered. They need more staff. It looks like there were two staff. One in the kitchen and the other doing everything else. The gentleman behind the counter was busy with other people's drinks, and when he went to the back, it took a while for him to return. When I finally received the breakfast pizza I ordered, it was absolutely delicious. Each bite put a smile on my face. Most likely the best breakfast pizza I've ever had. The sauce and ingredients made for a flavorful combination. The crust was crisp and nicely browned. My chai drink came after the pizza, but it was hot and tasty. I give this place five stars for the food and drinks The interior is gorgeous. Great ambiance. The entire ceiling is covered in bright, colorful silk flowers. Silk flowers in a vase at each table. They invested quite a bit in the hand painted murals on the walls. The cup my drink was served in replicates one of the murals. They either need tinted windows or sun shades. There's too much sun coming through the windows where I was seated. Even though the interior is air conditioned, I was perspiring. There are also tables for two outside, in front of the cafe. The hot chai was really good but you can tell it is a new business. Staff were really young and not really attentive/professional. I was the only person in the place when I went but it took 15-20 min to get my drink. The server said it was because they were showing her how to make the drink but I was told afterwards not during the extended wait. There were 3 staff there. Also the clear glass the hot chai was served in was super lightweight and flimsy and felt like it was going to tip over. Chai Wallah is such a hidden gem in Lomita! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped into another world. The interior is absolutely adorable, incredibly spacious, and has a relaxing atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile and enjoy your food and drinks. The staff here are wonderful--attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They happily offered recommendations and shared some of their personal favorites, which made the experience feel even more special. The chai is the real deal and easily the best in town. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, it's exactly what great chai should be. I also tried the Mango Knafeh, which was surprisingly delicious and unlike anything I've had before. The combination of flavors was unique and memorable. For something savory, I ordered the chicken pot pie. The curry-based filling was warm, comforting, and incredibly satisfying. It had a wonderful depth of flavor that really hit the spot. It was a little salty for my taste, but that's likely because I'm particularly sensitive to salt. The pastries and desserts are also fantastic and definitely worth saving room for. Between the beautiful ambiance, excellent service, authentic chai, and delicious food, Chai Wallah has quickly become one of my favorite spots. This is an interesting new establishment operational in the South Bay. What they offer is a nice selection of coffee and tea orientated drinks, plus they have a very nice bakery section. In addition, you can order off their menu, which is an interesting take on South Asian/American cuisine. Just off of Pacific Coast Highway, this is a location that you probably need to know about to find. But, once you do, it's an interesting space to go into. They have a central dining/drinking area where you can enjoy your beverages and/or food. The tables are nicely separated, as well as they have a large group table if you come in with a family or other gathering. Plus, they have a few tables outside, lining the street. As this is a new business, I believe they need to get things organized and situated a little bit better, perhaps hire some additional staff, as when I recently visited this café, the man taking the orders and creating the drinks, (who was very nice), had to continually run to the back to help prepare the food. Thus, like we experienced, you may have to wait quite a while to even be able to put in your order and to finally receive it. It really took a long-long time! In terms of parking, there's obviously street parking along Eshelman Ave. And, they have a small parking lot in the rear. It's kind of interesting back there as that they are a new business and they've just repainted the parking lines. In doing so, however, they've painted them very close together. So, it's a little bit tight back there if you have to park next to somebody. I truly wish that I could give this café a higher rating, but from my initial experience, the wait for something as simple as a chai latte was insane. It literally took them over thirty minutes to prepare two of them for us. Plus, we received our food shortly before we received our drinks. I think everyone hates that. I know I do. As we were waiting, people were literally coming in and leaving because they were getting no counter service. Plus, the couple that had arrived just before us were ranting about how slow it was to get the two drinks they ordered. It's not like the restaurant was busy or anything. There were only a very few customers. The Breakfast Pizza we ordered was, however, very good! I would recommend it. But, it took forever to arrive. They really need more staff and better organization! Overall, this is a nice addition to the greater South Bay area. A fun place to grab a drink, and/or have a small meal. With time, I believe, they will truly bloom, and come into their own, offering an interesting addition to the area. This was my second time at Chai Wallah. The first time was the day after the opening and things were a little slow but the chai was good. Good cup of chai but they're making each cup specifically for you. The sandwiches are always good. My favorite is the Chapi Sabdwich. Today everything was much more streamlined. The drinks came out in about 10-15 mins(they make the chai to your custom tastes so they made our friend's with oat milk and she really liked it). I like how the sugar is on the side so you put in as much as you like. The murals are so pretty. There's definitely a lot going on but it is a vibe. We enjoyed our chai time and the girls loved the hot chocolate while the Moms loved their chai and Chapli Sandwiches. So happy to have legit chai and this eclectic space in our community. read more

Always hunting for a good chai spot in the Torrance / South Bay area, so my wife and I were excited to finally visit after following their journey on social media. We stopped in during their launch week. The interior decor is nice, though you can tell it's still a work in progress in terms of finish. We ordered the traditional tea, which tasted good, but the experience lacked some finer details - for example, the kettle didn't come with a burner to keep the pot hot. We skipped the desserts as they didn't look particularly appealing at the time. Parking is located right behind the store using the CVS parking lot - I'm sure in next few weeks CVS will start posting signs not to use their lot. I definitely respect the hard work it takes to open a business, but since they took nearly a year to launch, I was expecting a more polished experience. This review is strictly for the Grand Opening Chaos: I will be generous with the 2-star review. I overheard that your intention is to eventually open another shop. If you do, your Grand Opening & service needs to be much improved & more efficient! We were prepared for waiting a long time in line, but not for an hour for a drink after being ordered! We arrived at 9AM and were the 30th & 31st people in line. However, by the time we got our Golden Ticket, the numbers were 47 & 48. That many people had cut the line. That is totally unfair for the ones who waited 3+ hours! What was even worse was that someone connected to the shop helped a person (cut) by taking her order & getting her a Golden Ticket or two. Then the guy with same customer went to place an order himself, essentially cutting (again) those of us who were waiting to order, and got 2 more Golden Tickets. I feel so bad for the people who patiently waited and should have gotten a ticket but didn't because of all the line cutters. Suggestion: Someone should have been managing the line with a hand stamp or a ticket number to keep everyone honest! Why did the Chai-Wallah Chai (drink) take an hour to get to us? Drinks were consistently not making it to the right people, ours included! We heard numerous Chai-Wallah Chais being called for other names after ours should have been called. We even inquired 3 different times with the assurance they'd bring it to us soon. Not good service at all. The interior is very nice! A floral ceiling and jellyfish glowing inside the lighting is awesome! The murals were nice. Each of their hot cups have one of the murals on them, that's cool! When we come back, I'll be able to view them better. We got Golden Tickets, so we'll be in to claim the free food and/or drinks. I came during soft opening and the experience was great. Good service, owner (assumption) came by to greet and chat with us. Things changed a week after grand opening. Drinks took almost an hour to be served, service was poor and it was really hot inside. They received a lot of poor reviews during this time period but I noticed that they received many 5 star ones from people with just 1 review, which leads me to believe that they are fake accounts. cute little cafe in lomita! you can tell a lot of effort was put into decorating the interior, and it seemed family owned + operated which made it feel really cozy and welcoming. definitely a nice place to chill and hang with friends. the pot pie was really good and well spiced. they also gave us a free dessert which was super sweet of them. i will say the drinks were good! the rose latte was pretty weak on the rose flavor though, but it was good. and the iced chai honestly tasted more like coffee(?) maybe i should have gotten it hot. i also think they need to improve the menu format because it was confusing and hard to read. organization/management could definitely be better too. i noticed other reviews mentioning long waits and forgotten orders, and i can see how that could happen. but they seem new, so i'm willing to give them some slack while they figure things out. also the parking lot is a little difficult to access, so i ended up parking at the drug store nearby. overall i really want this place to succeed because the vibe is cute and there's a lot of potential here, they just need to smooth out some of the operational stuff! read more

I walked into Chai Wallah and was immediately entranced by the beautiful interior. I can tell lots of attention to detail was put into the the design, decor, and art work. I ordered the birria burrito and it was yummy. Service was warm and welcoming. However, the reason I'm giving this spot a 3.5/5 is because I ordered the chai wallah and my drink was scalding hot. I felt the temperature through the cup sleeve. I thought it'd be fine as I was a short walk away to my car and my drink would cool as I drove. However, as I carried my drink out my scalding hot chai was leaking out of my cup and burnt my hand. The lid was either not sealed tight or it was overfilled. I tried to tighten the lid, but my cup bent and more scolding chai got on my hand. Sadly, this experience has overshadowed the burrito. I would recommend enjoying your chai there rather than taking it to-go unless they upgrade the integrity of their to-go cups. read more

Mubarak ho to this wonderful little shop that just opened! I enjoyed their Kashmiri Chai which had a wonderful flavor to it. It even came in a kuj'ja, so cute. My kids and I admired the murals on the walls which were so beautiful and full of color. I'd love to come back soon and try something from their menu. Overall, it was a pleasant first experience and it's wonderful to see a piece of Pakistan represented among all these fancy drink shops popping up all over. Zindabad . On another note: I read every single review of this place and I'm honestly stunned. Some low reviews seem valid. I myself did not experience bad customer service and am a firm believer that there is absolutely no substitute for excellent service. Even if the product is mid, if the service is excellent and you're a small business I will absolutely support you. Communities thrive because of small businesses. It seems like management here has some work to do in reaching out to disappointed customers. But some of these other reviews, man I wanna take a danda and smack you guys who are complaining about the grand opening. If you're so frustrated, email the management team and get it settled offline. Yelp is so extremely important especially for small businesses and you're literally complaining because YOU chose to go to their grand opening event that was advertising FREE products. Of course it's going to be chaotic! Exactly the reason I didn't go. The cafe took full responsibility for it on IG and issued a huge apology which to me shows they are working on doing better which I can appreciate. Stopped by Chai Wallah during their soft opening and honestly came away really impressed. The space is beautiful, very well lit, and clearly designed with a lot of thought. It has that clean, upscale, Instagram worthy vibe without feeling forced. There's also plenty of seating inside, which makes it feel comfortable whether you want to stop in for a quick drink or actually sit and enjoy the place. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which always makes a big difference, especially during a soft opening when places are still getting into their rhythm. I got the Victoria Coffee and it tasted premium. I was told these espresso beans are straight from Italy. You can tell they care about quality. The whole experience felt polished, and the café itself has a really unique atmosphere that stands out from the usual coffee spots. Ordered a Pistachio iced latte for my fiancée, a Rose iced latte for myself, and a mango falooda to share (you can tell it was a very hot day). I was greeted upon entering and while I was looking at the food in the display, was recommend to try the pineapple upside down cake. I said it looked delicious, but needed something more mobile as we were about to walk our dog in the park. The cashier understood and said "next time!" He then asked if it was ok to give my dog a cup of whipped cream, and then asked if it was ok to take it to the car for me. The service was wonderful, and the flavors matched it! My fiancée loved her latte, I loved mine, and the flooda was divine (my fiancée had never had one before and thought it was too sweet, but I have to strongly disagree). Wow!! . A fantastic discovery driving down Eshelman, in our little town of Lomita. It was about 9:45 pm and we noticed the well lighted coffee house with people sitting inside. The streets of Lomita usually roll up around dusk. So, we decided to make a U-turn and see what it was all about. My goodness! What a fantastic idea, people can sit, have a coffee and some amazing food, watch TV and chat. This is exactly what our city needs! This is perfect for those who do not want to sit in a noisy bar and be forced to buy a minimum alcoholic beverage with music blaring so loud, one cannot even speak to the person next to you. We seek out places to relax, have a nice flavored coffee and chill. This is the place!!! You walk into the store and it's a breath of fresh air. Everything looks like a movie/photo studio set. If you're a person that needs a calm place to work or cool spot to take selfies (gotta buy something though ;p ) or just a coffee or Matcha fanatic. This is the spot. I ended up ordering the coffee mojito for $8, and it was a massive letdown. It tasted like watered-down coffee creamer with almost no actual coffee or mint flavor. It felt like a complete waste of $8. While they clearly spent a lot of money on the beautiful interior decorations, they unfortunately didn't invest that same effort into the quality of their drinks.
