A phone call to Perez revealed they were still open and would wait for me to come in. Met with Alex. He removed the tire and examined the puncture which was in the middle of the treads. He said it could not be repaired. He offered to sell me a tire of the same size. I wanted to keep all the tires from the same manufacturer. He did not have that brand and said he was not able to get it. I declined further services, and drove back to my campsite 60 miles away. I called several places to locate a tire shop that could order my tire and replace the punctured tire. I would take a couple days for the tire to arrive. The tire arrived and I went to purchase it and have it installed. When this tire shop looked at the puncture they said it could be repaired. The used a plug and patch. I ended up paying for the new tire and had it installed. I kept the tire Alex at Pere said could not be repaired. I was glad Perez stayed until 5 PM to look at my tire. But am very disappointed that the goal was to sell me a tire rather than do a repair. I will not go back or recommend them.

All I'm going to say is that he will tell you your vehicle will be ready in a few days with parts ordered and then after he gets the part, it will take him 3 or 4 more days to start working on the vehicle and then days to finish. Finally .. we are physically waiting on him to finish so we can go back home. Why couldn't he just give us worst case scenario with truthful waiting times instead of keeping us hanging on?? Like his time is way more valuable than anyone else's? disrespectful . On a lighter note his work was well done! And I appreciate that. Just do not believe him when he states it will be done by a certain time .

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the rest of the service department. Maybe oil changes and routine maintenance are their specialty. But when it came to diagnosing the check engine light on my 2006 Prius, they completely missed the mark. My Prius threw a check engine light while I was on a road trip up Highway 395. I had it towed to Perry Motors. They said they fixed it, but thankfully I took it for a test drive before leaving because the check engine light came right back on. I got charged a diagnostic fee - fair enough. They couldn't diagnose the problem and kept insisting it was an oil issue. The problem? I'd already had the oil changed at another Toyota dealer before the trip, so I knew that wasn't it. To make matters worse, another service manager actually told me, "It's OK to drive with the check engine light on--we do it all the time." I found that advice pretty disturbing  I finally took my car to J&S Automotive, where Juan Santana worked his magic. Juan is a true car whisperer--thorough, intuitive, and someone who genuinely cares about getting to the root of the problem instead of guessing. More than 400 miles later, my Prius hasn't missed a beat.  Moreover he did not charge me a diagnostic fee and took me in right away despite it being the 4th of July weekend His shop is busy and plastered with incredible reviews and I can see why he is fondly known as Saint Juan Santana - patron saint of car troubles on 395! Would I recommend Perry Motors? Sure, for basic maintenance like oil changes and routine services that follow the handbook. For real diagnostic work? I'd skip Perry and head straight to J&S Automotive.

We where able to get a hold of Bishop Automotive Center right before closing time. They sent a tow truck, the driver was friendly and professional. I called the next morning and they where already looking at the vehicle. They finished the work before the end of the day and the price was extremely fair. After paying online they set up a late pickup for Sunday, as we where coming back down south. Nate had our keys waiting for us at the Chevron gas station next door. Willie was nothing but kind, patient, and understanding the entire time. We went on a family trip with our Tesla to Mammoth during the Thanksgiving break. We encountered a…read moresevere winter storm, and the car's aero shield (i.e., front skid plate) was damaged. Half of the shield popped open and was frozen in place by about four inches of ice. We took our car to Warren's Auto Repair due to the great reviews, and it was a good decision. Willie, the technician on-site at the time, showed me where to take the car to get the ice removed and helped me patch up the shield enough to get home for a proper fix later. He even dropped me off at a nearby motel so I could figure out my options. He and Misael were very caring and started working on my van right away and did an excellent job. Even with the cylinder heads having to be sent down to LA to be resurfaced, they completed everything in about a week. All of the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. I drove by Union Auto Service and thank God I stopped. Misael and Cesar were awesome and immediately went to work at approximately 11:00am. They called me to come get my truck at 3:45, because they were done replacing all rear wheel bearings as well as replacing both rear rotors and brakes and mounting 4 new tires for me! They did excellent work and were the nicest mechanics I could have hoped for. If you ever need mechanical work anywhere near Bishop, CA you would be smart to go straight to Union Auto Service!
