Uttapam with coconut chutney and sambar
T S.

You want great Indian food in the Duluth area, this is it. All around great flavors with a varied menu. Both veg and non-veg. In plain talk, they serve meat dishes as well as vegetarian entrees. This place serves dishes that are more on the "home food" end of the food spectrum. The entrees will not knock you over with their avant-garde presentation. The food is non-pretentious ... just casual dining for those interested in trying a range of Indian flavors and dishes. The curries are very tasty. Chicken, lamb, veg, and fish curries are flavorful and balanced. I love their butter chicken and mushroom kharvalI as well as the baigan bartha (spiced eggplant mash). The dosas and uttapams are awesome - crispy thin to thick pancakes with a variety of fillings that are great appetizers or as a main meal. The appetizer portion of the menu is varied and several of these can serve together as a sampler of Indian entree. For example, veggie pakoras and chicken 65 is a great combination. Service can be slow but trust me, the food is worth it!

The Biryani (goat) was generous, flavorful, and prepared extra spicy, as requested. In many…read more restaurants my plea for extra spicy is ignored or dismissed like "he doesn't know what he's asking for." I especially appreciated the metal service equipment, which kept the biryani warm through most of the meal. Service from our primary sever was quite attentive, but service by ancillary personnel was cold and impersonal. Ambience was the only drawback; we found it futile to have any meaningful conversation in the close proximity to screaming, crying kids, of which there were MANY! Next time we'll order take-out from Biryani Pot.

We stopped in to order several naan breads to go (not one...several), and they told my husband he had to purchase a full meal just to buy naan. Apparently, bread now comes with terms and conditions. Who knew? It's a bold strategy...refusing perfectly good money unless it's bundled with something we didn't want. If the goal was to make customers feel like an inconvenience rather than, you know, customers...mission accomplished. The good news is they did us a favor. We found a new place, Masti Fun Indian Street Eats, that actually welcomes business and, as it turns out, makes far better naan anyway. Shocking how that works. So yes, what used to be a go-to is now a hard pass. If you're craving unnecessary rules with your food, this is your spot. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere.

They need to better manage our communicate it to the customers. After a long wait the food has arrived but was way too greasy, chicken was pinkish (color?) and taste was subpar. Maybe it was an off day for them. But def not an exp that made us want to go back. The staff was friendly and that's the only positive experience on our visit.

Service is phenomenal. They are so friendly and nice. They came to check on us multiple times throughout our meal to make sure everything tasted good. The inside is clean and welcoming. There are enough tables to host a big party. We came in for lunch on a Wednesday around 12:20. Everyone was getting the lunchbox so we decided to try the non-veg lunchbox ($9.99), it came with two sides, rice, naan, chicken wing, and Gobi. It was so much food and delicious. What a deal. Definitely recommend. We also got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Wow, the tikka was amazing. The chicken was very tender, not dry at all and the flavor was perfect, it wasn't too sweet like a lot of other places which I love. The naan was so fresh. The prices are more affordable than other Indian restaurants in the area. I'm so excited this place opened up next to us. The best Indian food hands down. Will recommend them to everyone.

Lots of seats inside to sit and eat . It's unfortunate that we went on a Monday. Obviously many other restaurants were closed, and this was the only one which was open... their menu was limited though.. They didn't have draught beers. I asked for large kf/taj but they got an opened small bottle :) service was good overall except these . The menu card is 100 pages long :) so many items .. so many options .. good in a way but it confuses us sometimes ..:) With so many options - biryani , naan, curries etc - we finally saw a very interesting dish which we have never seen in any restaurant - "pappu mammam rice with avakkai " wowowow ! This one is just super special . Took them some time but it was super delicious . A must try dish here . We also ordered green chili chicken . It was flavorful too it less spicy . I told them 80% spice but apparently it wasn't that spicy . Lassi was good . Overall a good option for Indian food plus bar . I heard it is jam packed on weekends . 4 stars and next time - hopefully I can increase this to a 5 stars :)
