I got La Bomba which has hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, chilli garlic oil, smokey chilli mayo, hot banana peppers, pickled serranos, arugula. My only qualm was that I think they put a touch too much chili oil so my bun came pretty soggy! I would recommend maybe stripping it back abit for takeout or putting it in a little side container for distro at the house. The meat was fresh and tasty, the bun soft and chewy and the mozza was outstanding. I also love arugula on my sandos. I'd like to try another one of these on their famous Hoagies as they look awesome too.

It's so much more than that. First impressions might be that the $14 ish range for a 6" sub is a tad pricey. We upped the anti, chose a full footer and shared, it was maybe $24? The Morty 3.0 did not disappoint. It honestly for us could be four meals. It was so good, the chips, salsa, queso, made in house and a drink, as a $5 add is gold. The staff are engaging, friendly and want you to enjoy your experience while dining there. We love the spartan, straight forward unapologetic ambiance of the place. Vennie's on Venables is a 6 out of 5 in our humble sandwich opinion.

When we arrived, it was busy! No tables free and a lineup to order, it went super fast though which was great. They have their service on lock! The decor is really cute too with a Vespa scooter out front that looks V Italian. We each got our own sando but could have shared based on the sheer size of these sandos. My husband and got the vegetarian sando (il Veg) and I got the Italiana. We couldn't wait till we got home so we started devouring them in the car. The meat was stacked on the Italiana and while I appreciate the stack for the $18-20 you're paying for sando it was a touch too thick for me, and I ended up taking some out and eating it solo sans bread like a little car charcuterie. The bread was fresh but didn't quite hold in all the contents inside. It's a messy sando and that's okay! I couldn't finish the sandwich and kept going back to it throughout the day like Homer Simpson and the infamous sub. I finally said goodbye to the sandwich at 8pm that evening. We had a good run. I'd love to go back and try more sandwiches. I heard the grilled cheese is killer. There's quite abit of competition on commercial for great sandwiches and I have enjoyed my sandwiches at other spots a bit more than this joint however will need to come back and assess more!

The chocolate chip oatmeal cookies tasted healthy, but really good at the same time. I can tell it Nu Nu didn't load it with sugar. It was extra enjoyable since she handed me one that was just taken out from the oven and it was still hot. I also ordered the chick pea salad, which was delicious. It had chick peas, broccolli, red/green peppers, parsley and was in some sort of olive oil/curry sauce. $6.50 (including tax) for the salad and cookie, -this will be a repeat for me if I'm in the area again.

Prior to today, I've had a fruit cup, and half a shrimp wrap my coworker gave me to try. The fruit cup was a bit over $4 from memory, but I remember being mildly shocked at the price considering the rather small size of it. The shrimp wrap was tasty enough, it had the sort of peanut sauce salad rolls are usually dipped into and a bit of pickled carrot etc. However, I found it skimpy on the shrimp - only a few paper-thin slices among the lettuce. In any case, I had business at Chapters/Indigo across the road so I ducked in to buy lunch before braving the holiday queues. I had the shrimp wrap in mind (felt like having a lighter, less carby lunch today), but was dissuaded after finding that it was something like $10.25. For essentially a wrap full of lettuce?? I settled for a black forest ham panini with brie. I didn't get to open the sandwich until I got back to my desk and I have to say I was rather dismayed. The sandwich was on the thinner side, not very generous with the meat. The bread was some baguette-y thing and not actual panini bread - despite her even saying it was "organic panini bread". The supposed "black forest ham" didn't seem to have the characteristic black outer rind on it, and might have been just typical lunch meat ham. A few perfunctory leaves of what was possibly spinach, and a chunk of brie somewhere in there. I ate the first half and didn't think much of it overall. When I got to the rest of it, I found not one, but TWO giant black hairs in the sandwich. Needless to say I lost my appetite. Two counts of false advertising and two strands of hair was enough to ascertain that I would not be a return customer. Even then, there was very little value in their overpriced, undersized sandwiches that boasted nothing but unremarkable flavors.
