Cute little ramen shop with really creative dishes. I have never heard of ramen with a tea broth or fried enoki mushrooms. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the fried enoki mushrooms but I did try the hojicha ramen broth. It is definitely an acquired taste, and personally not my cup of tea (lol). However, others around me enjoyed it. I ordered the classic ramen and it was delicious. The broth was very rich and pork chasu was one of the best I've tasted around the area. Super flavorful and rich. The egg was also runny and amazing. We also ordered the karage and it was okay. I definitely want to come back to try the fried enoki mushrooms and eat the classic ramen again. Btw, whoever is on aux in this store deserves a raise. read more

This place is pretty small and intimate but the food is great. Came here for dinner one night and ordered the karage and the classic ramen. The karage was really good, the batter was quite light and the dipping sauce that came it gave it a nice flavor. Cha Menya is BACK!! After a long hiatus, they are back! The ramen is good as ever, the BEST in Queens and Long Island in my humble opinion. The textures of their ramen is firm with a slight chew, reminiscent of the artisanal ramen(s) you would enjoy in Japan. Their broths are creative and unique to them, you will not find these flavors at other ramen shops in NYC. Try their Matcha and Yuzu Shio! Their tsukemen is also excellent, my only criticism, the dipping broth should be hotter. They also have the one of BEST Karage in NYC, tender. juicy and flavorful! that is just the honest truth! Was a little worried about going as it just reopened a few days ago, but it was still amazingly delicious! Still love this place! Very surprised that there is a good ramen restaurant in Little Neck, let alone Queens! I have never had good ramen and always have to travel to the city for decent ramen. Happened to stumble upon this small cozy ramen shop with a line outside prior to opening. So it peaked my interest and we waited a few minutes to see if there's enough seats for the two of us. Glad we did. The matcha ramen is new on any ramen shop menu I've come across. The waitress was very informative in the matcha vs roasted vs classic - so if you like matcha tea it's a high recommendation. The food overall was amazing. The service was friendly. I haven't been wowed in a long while and I was definitely impressed with this place. I became a hojicha fan a while back and wanted to try the hojicha ramen. The flavor was definitely interesting but i wasn't a fan of the grainy texture. Hojicha fans should give it a try. Their fried enoki and karaage were great. The hojicha latte is a must have too. The tsukemen was delish and the thick cuts of chashu were pretty satisfying. I can't wait to go back to try their other stuff and may be upgrade to five stars! read more

Amazing ramen for its price. A friend of mine ordered the shoyu ramen and it tasted amazing and would recommend for anyone coming here. The broth was meaty and succulent. I ordered the matcha ramen and it was interesting. It had a slightly bitter taste and savory flavor but overall a good and interestinf experience. I wouldn't recommend it for someone coming here for the first time but if your adventerous and like bitter flavors, this is for you. Toppings were not just added just for the sake of toppings but match really well with each of the meals. The egg is also marinated which just adds an additional flavor. Everything was absolutely tasty! My bf ordered the classic ramen and I actually prefer that to what I ordered (hoji-cha ramen) because the broth was sweeter! Karaage was juicy and the fried enoki mushroom was super crispy. I enjoyed everything!! The ramen noodles were perfectly chewy and the pork belly and eggs were soooo delicious. Originally wanted to order the deep fried enoki mushrooms as recommended by another yelper but we ended up going with the Karaage and it was so good! Super juicy & tender on the inside with a crisp exterior. We opted for the Tsukemen which is a dip ramen with thicker noodles & richer broth. We brought home the classic ramen to try later on and it was packed beautifully. I think we might actually prefer this soup base flavor over the Tsukemen since it suited our tastebuds more! My wife and I had a quick lunch at Cha Menya today and had a pleasant surprise. We arrived right at 12pm which they just opened and immediately 3 other groups were walking in behind me. The atmosphere is quite zen but the music was a bit too loud overall. Anyway, let's talk about the food. We ordered the Karrage chicken, Tsukemen, and Triple Shrimp Ramen. Food took a little bit to come out since they just opened but she did tell us they are switching out the deep fried oil and the karrage chicken will take some time. Glad to know that. She came back with two glasses of water and my wife and I were happy that they served filtered water. Not just regular tap water that has a rusty pipe taste. The one she gave us might very well be tap water but at least it's filtered. Karrage was fresh and slightly crispy and the inside was soft and juicy. The batter has a unique seasoning to it. Delicious. Tsukemen noodle portion is a lot and the dipping sauce was delicious. The cha siu (meat) was amazing. Egg was perfectly cooked with runny yolk. Triple Shrimp Ramen has a super strong shrimp soup base. My wife absolutely loved it. For the price, Cha Menya is definitely a gem. A great location at little neck. I was initially excited about the menu and really wanted to try this place. But the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with an overwhelming stench of dirty cleaning water, cigarettes and weed. The smell made me incredibly nauseous and decided to leave. I went to use the bathroom and the stench was even stronger in the bathroom which made me think that someone definitely got high/ was smoking in there. We were their first customers for the day. The server at the time was incredibly rude to us when we changed our minds and cursed at us. Stopped in to try this Ramen restaurant for dinner, and it was amazing. The service was excellent. They were very accommodating about a sesame allergy (which is rough with Japanese food). The waitress/hostess working there was so friendly and attentive to ensure we had a great+safe meal We had the crispy enoki as an appetizer, which despite being fried... was really light and tasty. For ramen we had the *Classic Ramen* and the *Wagyu Ramen*. The classic came with the best cooked pork we had ever tried in a bowl of ramen, not overly fatty, yet extremely tender. The more decadent wagyu ramen was just as good, the noodles were cooked well with a nice bite and the wagyu was melt in your mouth. This place is the newest rave in town so we checked it out. We lucked out and got a table right before the crowds came in. It got fairly busy and only 1 lady was taking orders , making drinks and serving food. Why the 5 stars ? Simply because this lady really rocked it out. As busy as it got, she acknowledged every customer and got to them as soon as she could. She never rushed any patrons to eat despite the lines. As soon as food was ready she served each customer as fast and she could. The ramen broths were very fresh and comforting. The appetizers were very good as well !!! How often do you hear of tea and ramen together? Well this is your place if you enjoy trying something different than your typical tonkatsu ramen and are possibly a big fan of Japanese tea. The ramen texture was pretty good. Not overcooked and has a pleasant chewy texture. The pork chasu that comes in these bowls of ramen is very generous compared to most other ramen places. The only thing, is that it was a little salty for my taste. As for the ramen broths, out of the three I tried. I would stick with the classic ramen. The matcha and hojicha are very interesting flavors, and not something you can get everywhere. But they were not my personal favorites. The tea flavor is very strong but l personally feel like the tea flavor and the meats don't go well together but that is just my personal taste, other people may really come to love it. The squid (Ika) was really good. I loved the sauce that came on it and the texture was just right. It was not overcooked and super chewy. Finally! After a months (more like half a year) long hiatus, they are back! Everything is as was and I'm happy to say the familiar fantastic flavors are ready to give you a hug welcome back. From their appetizers, their fried enoki are stars on its own right, crispy and fully of mushroomy goodness, and their edemame has no business being that damn good while being such a simple dish! Their ramen, however, is what you need to come here for. You can't go wrong with any of their bowls as each one has a seemingly simple broth that brings a symphony of flavor to your mouth. I, for one, love their tsukemen as their dipping broth is full of garlicky goodness and the cha siu is grilled to flavorful perfection in delicate balance of meat and fat. During their hiatus I've tried many others, but none compares. So run, don't walk to this hidden gem! Pro-tip: parking sucks in the area, but is free after 7 PM on Northern. read more

The place was trendy with chill vibes; however, this place was small. They need to market this place better with reservations in place cause you can tell the ramen was slow cooked with beautiful presentation. This place has all the flavor, class, presentation of a manhattan noodle shop but with a quieter vibe - IMO amazing. Even had A5 wagyu beef ramen and mazemen on the menu!! We got the yuzu grapefruit and matcha coconut drinks and they were absolutely delicious. For starters we had fried enokis and the hamachi. Holy moly! Delicious sauce with the hamachi - a perfect pairing; the mushrooms crispy, light delicious. For the mains we ordered hojicha ramen and classic ramen which had well developed flavors, perfect texture chashu, amazing egg and bouncy noodles. Like Wowwwww!!!
